First part of the draft is up. First 10 picks for each brand. Let me know what you think of what has happened so far.

I am heading on vaca and wont be back until late next Wednesday night. Tomorrow is my 5 year anniversary and Tuesday I have a big birthday coming up (big 4-0).

I will have my tablet on me and might check in late at night or early in the morning but we are heading to Disney World so we wont be near our room except for the morning and the afternoon. I will be on tonight possibly but wont be getting to my sister-in-laws until late and have to get up early as our flight is early.

I'm loving the way the rosters are coming together. A lot of change is going to happen as a result of this. For example Styles and Punk are separated so they finally get to go their separate ways.

Yeah, its definitely going to allow me some new things to happen. What do ya think about Triple H and HBK pulling a fast one and getting Owens main roster contract done kind of under the table?

And just wait until you see what other surprises I have in store.



There are a few trades that will probably take place as well.

Could be a few signings if I have the space.

I have TWO more major announcements coming in this month (although the second one is really dependent on whether or not I can get on CC enough to download guys). The first one kind of is but not as much because I can run with it without needing CC but the second one is huge.

DRAFT/NXT EXCULSIVITY

We here at WWF.com have just received a huge confirmation of something that had been in the works for a week now regarding the talent of NXT. Before we get to the NXT announcement we have also learned that at least the next 10 picks for each brand, if not the remainder of the draft, will take place tomorrow.

Now back to the NXT news and how this will impact the draft. We have learned that all NXT talent will be signed to exclusivity contracts with one brand or the other. What this means is that each member of the NXT roster will technically be part of one of the main brands once they get the call up and can only get called up by their brand.

The exact logistics of this announcement are unknown at the time. One of two options are beign thrown around. The first option is that each member of the NXT roster will be available to be drafted, no earlier than after the next 10 picks for each brand. The second option is to give the NXT talent some say and allow them to negotiate with whichever brand they want and make their own decision as to which brand they sign with. Stay tuned for which choice is made. Whichever option is chosen will certainly make matches in NXT even more interesting in the next future.

One more announcement regarding the draft is that trades will be allowed immediately following the draft.

We have an update about the NXT exclusivity and we have been informed that the NXT roster will be a part of the draft immediately. This means that the NXT roster can be drafted for exclusivity during the next part of the draft after each brand has made 5 more picks.

It will be interesting to see how quickly the brands begins picking up exclusivity rights to the NXT talent and how quickly those stars are brought up to their respective brands.

We have also heard that after the next 5 picks by each brand that trades can begin happening.

Michael Cole: “Welcome to the second part of the exclusive WWF.com coverage of the draft. I am Michael Cole and tonight each brand will make their next 5 selections prior to trades and NXT exclusivity being involved. Tonight we have Edge and HBK making selections for their respective brands

Edge: “Well we aren’t going to leave everybody hanging here. Shawn and Hunter got themselves a big pick up with their final pick last time but we aren’t sitting back and waiting for this next pick and this next pick isn’t a gut reaction pick. This pick is a man who actually recently signed his main brand contract but has yet to debut and that man is Finn Balor.”

HBK seems a bit taken back by this pick. This is a huge pickup by RAW. We had heard rumblings in November that Balor was being called up and was possibly slated for a spot on a Survivor team but things changed and he ended up not on a team. This is a big grab for RAW.

HBK: “Nice pick. Definitely didn’t see that coming. Our next pick is a veteran who is still very hungry to prove he still has it, Jack Swagger.”

This is a good veteran pickup for SMACKdown in this stage of the draft. Swagger has recently been involved in the US Title hunt but is capable of working in any division.

Edge: “Along the veterans line of thinking RAW is proud to make Rob Van Dam their next pick in the draft.”

Another good veteran pick for RAW, especially at this stage of the game

HBK: “Our next pick is another veteran who had a hot run this summer and it ready to regain gold, R-Truth”

This is a good pick for SMACKdown. Truth came out of nowhere this summer to have a great run with the US Championship and has stayed near the top of that division through the last few months as well.

Edge: “Our next pick is a third generation wrestler, Curtis Axel”

This is a good pick at this point of the draft. Axel is a generational wrestler as well as a veteran who believes he has not been given his due.

HBK: “Well our next pick is also a multi-generational wrestler and a person we feel is one of the top women on the roster and are very happy to be able to get her at this point, Natalya.”

This is a great pickup for SMACKdown we feel. At this point of the draft things are getting a little thin and to be able to get one of the top women on the roster.

Edge: “From multi-generational fighter to young up and comer who has a lot of talent, Tyler Breeze.”

This is a great pick for RAW. Breeze is not only a former NXT Champion but he is the current Cruiserweight Champion and has a lot of talent and it gives them another young competitor.

HBK: “Well it seems that we are kind of on the same page for these past couple picks as we are also looking for the future with a top young talent in Sami Zayn.”

Just like RAWs pick this is a great pick for SMACKdown. Zayn is not only a former NXT Champion but also a former Crusierweight Champion.

Edge: “Well our final pick for this portion of the draft is Justin Gabriel.”

With picking the CW Champion last pick and now Justin Gabriel it would seem that RAW is going to continue the CW division, which is a great deal for them.

HBK: “Our next pick is a great international superstar and someone who will bring a different dynamic to out brand, Alex Shelley”

This is a solid pickup at pick 15 of the draft for SMACKdown. Alex Shelley is a veteran but is still young and a great competitor in the ring who can compete in any division.

Cole: “This concludes this portion of the draft. We will be back later tonight with more of the draft and any trades that may take place in the meantime.”

We here at Rasslin' Rumors in an effort to bring you the latest breaking rumors have just heard that Triple H may have just signed someone who could be considered the biggest free agent in the business. This man's contract with his most recent company has recently come up for renewal and the two sides could not come to an agreement. We are hearing that this man could possibly make his debut on next weeks SMACKdown, which will be the first under the brand split. This man is a former multi-time World Heavyweight Champion and if the rumors are true would be a huge grab for SD.

We here at Rasslin' Rumors are hearing that RAW and SD are working on a couple big trades. At least two tag teams are involved in trade proposals. We are also hearing that Triple H is doing whatever he can to get Randy Orton on his roster. It is being rumored that this is the main reason that him and HBK drafted The Wyatt Family knowing that Bray Wyatt was already on RAW. We are also hearing the one current tag team might be split up during the rumored trades. Stay tuned for all trades and other rumors and news.

The rosters continue to come together very nicely. Finn Balor can end up being the steal of the draft, he's gonna do great once he gets the call up.

He actually already signed his main roster contract and was called up late in November but plans changed and ended up not being on a team for Survivor Series. I had him slated for a spot actually but changed some things up. He doesnt need to be called up, he is on the roster already.

I am finalizing draft and nxt exclusivity today and hope to actually have my next show up today.

Looking at this I give Smackdown a slight edge in terms of star power on the roster. Raw is still looking great though.

SMACKdown definitely has more current star power but when you are looking at the future you have to give the edge to RAW I think. There will still be a some trades taking place because of face/heel heaviness being skewed in different divisions.
