Welcome everyone to NXT! Tonight is going to be a big show! After the first show of the year had some surprising outcomes tonight should be more of the same. NXT starts now!
The show starts with William Regal in the ring. He welcomes everyone to the show and says that tonight we will see new NXT Tag Team Champions be crowned and the main event will be the three men who won the matches last week for the number one contendership to Adrian Neville's NXT Championship. The crowd goes wild at this news.
Match 1: Paige vs. Bayley
After coming up short in the triple threat match last week Bayley is facing the current champion and her good friend Paige. This is not the first time these two have met and they show respect for each other by shaking hands before the match starts.
The match started off with a bit of chain wrestling. Both of these ladies know each other well so the exchange of holds and wrist locks was really nice to see. Paige then came at Bayley with some hard chops to the chest. Bayley then answered right back knocking Paige down and connecting with kicks to her head. The match went on from there with reversals back and forth and this match was really entertaining. Paige hit Bayley with the Paige Turner but was only able to get a two count. From there Paige let out a scream and planted Bayley with the Rampage and got the win by pinfall. This was a great match to kick off the show.
The scene cut to Cameron in an interview. She was asked what she thought about Naomi making herself known last week after she had won the number one contender match. Cameron replied by saying that Naomi better stay out of the way or else. That's when Naomi showed up and got in Cameron's face. Cameron then slapped her and ran away with Naomi hot on her heels.
Back in the ring now we see CJ Parker getting ready for his match. The lights go out and the sound of a motorcycle hits the speakers. The camera then goes to the ramp and we see a big guy with black hair and a black and blue vest on the ramp. It's Baron Corbin making his debut in NXT!! He walks down to the ring and gets in the to face CJ.
Match 2: Baron Corbin vs. CJ Parker
Corbin ends the match fairly quickly. He lands the End Of Days and that was that.
The scene then cuts to a split screen of The Lucha Dragons and The Realist Guys getting ready for the big title match that is coming up next. Big Cass and Enzo talk about how they have been waiting for this moment and how the guys they are going up against are S-A-W-F-T SAWWWFT!
While The Lucha Dragons look calm and focused. Sin Cara is giving words of encouragement to Kalisto.
A video comes on the tron now. It shows two men walking towards the full moon. They stop then turn their heads to the sky. Red letters show on the screen “The Hunt Begins Soon”
Match 3 NXT Tag Team Championship: The Realist Guys vs. The Lucha Dragons
Last week these two teams came out on top in the tournament and tonight they will go after the big prize of the tag team division. The two teams start the match shaking each others hands.
Enzo and Kalisto start the match and Enzo seems to be on repeat from last week, coming out on fire and taking it to Kalisto with big suplexes and elbows. He then tags in Big Cass who plants Kalisto with a big boot to the face. Kalisto finally manages to duck a clothesline from Cass and gets a tag to Sin Cara who takes control with a beautiful hurricarana which forces Big Cass to tag in Enzo. The match from here on is back and forth with plenty of high drama including a moment when Big Cass hit the East River Crossing on Sin Cara but Kalisto was able to break it up. This caused a brawl to ensue. Just as quickly as things and calmed down they picked back up when Sin Cara picked up Cass and slammed him hard to the mat with a Samoan Drop but Cass kicked out at two. The end came when Enzo threw Kalisto into the ropes and tagged Cass in who ran and clocked Kalisto with a big boot. The ref counted to 3 and The Realist Guys win the NXT Tag Titles!!
After the match the new champions grab mics.
Cass: Man this feels good! Finally we are NXT Tag Team Champions! (Crowd cheers)
Enzo: Cass this does feel good man! Badaboom Realist Guys in the room!! Now we have a secret to tell you all. You, the NXT Universe along with the Lucha Dragons are.....say it with us....S-A-W-F-T SAAAWWFT! (Crowd boos)
Just then the lights go out and the camera turns attention to the tron where the Hit Squad logo from last week is shown. The lights come back on and two African-American guys dressed in red,white, and black are standing behind Cass and Enzo. The taller of the two taps Enzo on the shoulder and Enzo turns slowly around and he signals for Cass to back away. Eventually The Realist Guys leave the ring and exit. The two guys in the ring grab mics.
Mr. Black: Hello N-X-T!! I am Mr. Black and this here is my brother Kid Dynamite! We are The Hit Squad!!
Kid Dynamite: It is so great to finally be here in front of you wonderful people! Those guys in the ring were chumps and now you all finally see them for what they are. But don't worry, soon enough we will make our name here in the tag division.
Mr. Black: Got that right and when we finally get our hands on those guys they will....get wrecked!!
The scene then cuts to Adrian Neville as he is walking backstage. He walks by Sami Zayn who tells Neville to watch out because Corey Graves is out for blood tonight because he is still bitter about last week. Neville thanks Sami for the warning then wishes him luck in his triple threat match tonight.
Match 4: Adrian Neville vs Corey Graves
Corey Graves lost his chance to have a shot at Adrian Neville's NXT Championship last week but tonight he is going to get his hands on the champ in a non-title match. Graves is looking to show that maybe last week was a fluke win.
The two men stare each other down and the ref rings the bell. As he does Corey ducks a clothesline from Neville which connects with the ref. The ref is out! Corey gets the upper hand and immediately goes to work on Neville's legs. Neville gets back on track though and the match begins to turn into a back and forth affair. Adrian gets some momentum though and he lands a beautiful inverted frankensteiner that causes Graves to land on his head but he kicks out at 2. Graves then fights his way back into the match and hits a fireman's carry backbreaker and pins Neville but it only ends up being a 2 count. Adrian then takes down Corey and shocks the crowd with a standing Shooting Star Press!! The ref counts to 3 and the match is over!!
After the match Graves is clearly pissed off. He gets up in Neville's face and eventually attacks him. Sami Zayn and members of security come down to get the two away from each other. You better believe William Regal is taking note of this for the future.
Rusev comes down to the ring with Lana by his side as the main event is next.
Lana: Attention NXT you are looking at the future number one contender for the NXT Championship. The super athlete Rusev! No one can beat this man! Not even the two men in this match tonight. Try as you might but Rusev will crush you both!
Main Event Triple Threat #1 Contenders match for NXT Championship: Tyler Breeze vs. Rusev vs. Sami Zayn
These three men won matches last week to get to this spot. Tonight the winner will have a shot at Adrian Neville's NXT Title.
These three men come out and really take it to each other. Early on Zayn and Breeze work together to take down Rusev and it works for a little. After they down the super athlete Zayn turns to Tyler and plants him with a Blue Thunder Bomb but Tyler kicked out at 2. The match was really hectic and the end came when Sami locked in the Koji Clutch on Tyler and forced him to tap out!!! Sami Zayn is the number one contender!!!! The show goes off the air with Sami celebrating in the ring.
