And.......it starts!
Some dodgy transfer activity(lol) followed up by a nice draw at Stoke. Hopefully you can overcome losing Benteke, good strikers do not come cheap, and I think you may have sold him at a cut rate price. Replacing him could prove difficult unless you find an in house option. Outside of England I'd suggest Mattia Destro. He's not first choice at Roma but he's absolutely first choice talent.

I'm a big fan of Destro. I think I have a bit more to prove though - but next episode should answer that question about a striker

Yes, ridding Benteke and Vlaar will prove difficult - but these two should've been off to bigger clubs by now, especially Benteke. I just can't see Villa holding on to an in form Benteke - and the likes of Arsenal can hopefully groom him into that player we know he has the potential to become.

Absolutely. I was thinking Charlie Austin as well for story's sake - but couldn't pull the trigger as I think he's meant to be at QPR right now. Wickham can be swayed, he's young, strong, raw - just needs direction.

I am SUPER excited for McNamanan though - just not sure where he will fit in the rotation of Suso and Bentaleb - might find him to take over Agbonlahor at some point if Gabby.

Tough start Matt, and with the big London 3 coming up back to back to back, things look to get worse before they get better. The killer was the Hull City game, as the great Keith Byars once said, "We couldn't get a break in a break shop"

Yeah, that Hull City match was brutal. I'm pretty happy defensively though - not letting in too much - but losing points is exactly that - something I can't afford this early in my tenure.

I thought you should have had all three points against Arsenal. Some great opportunities there especially when you were alone in like the 77th minute.

Tough result in the Capital Cup. Great penalty save. You seem to be taking a lot of long shots.

Episode 3: Great start to the series, don't know if you noticed but Gerrard was just on Liverpool's bench... not transferred haha. Also, love the new signings, though getting rid of Benteke was a bold move. McManaman is a great signing who you can slot right in the lineup as support for Wickham, as I was shocked to see you play Bentaleb so high up the field as he doesn't have much going for him attacking wise.

Episode 4: Use the finesse shots! I don't know how you get used to shooting from the camera angle you use (which does make the game look beautiful BTW), but when you're clear in on goal you have to use those finesse shots to beat the keepers! The smash the ball tries don't work nearly as well. That said, the team is definitely playing better and gives you some hope of turning the form around despite the tough run of games to start the career.
