Yeah the title changes right off the bat were a bit surprising. I do some booking on the fly but I also want to set things up for the future in this instance. I booked most of the CWC on the fly.

As for Steph, yeah i have some plans but we will see.

- “Regality” hits the speakers and GM, William Regal makes his way to the stage.

Regal: “Welcome to NXT. This month is the first Championship Series month on RAW and Smackdown and I’ve decided that NXT is going to get into the action a little bit, but more on that in a bit. This Saturday night we will see the first 4 matches in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Memorial Tournament and we have a couple of open slots and we are going to determine one of those teams right now to start off the show as Kenny Dykstra and Eli Drake face off against Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch. *the crowd cheers as the crowd favorites are announced* Let’s get right to action and when this match is over I will announce the final brackets as well as

Oney Lorcan/Danny Burch v. Eli Drake/Kenny Dykstra

- Dykstra delivered a snap DDT to Lorcan
- Lorcan delivered a running blockbuster to Drake for a 2 count
- Dykstra delivered a cross-legged fishrerman’s driver for a 2 count to Lorcan
- Burch delivered a hangman’s DDT on Dykstra from the middle turnbuckle for a 2 count
- Dykstra gets over and makes the tag. Drake comes in and helps Dykstra to his feet before helping him out of the ring.

- “Just Close Your Eyes” hits the speakers and GM, Christian walks out to the stage.

Christian: “Welcome to Smackdown. Welcome to the Road to Summer Slam and the Championship Series Month. This month the Commissioners are stepping back and the GMs are in full control. Shane McMahon is working on some business this month but will be around but he has given me his full blessing and we have some huge things going on tonight. Not only are we on the road to Summer Slam but we are coming off of a huge Great American Bash which saw Drew Galloway earn the golden ticket to a Heavyweight Championship Match and speaking of the Championship we had a new Heavyweight Champion crowned in controversial fashion and here is your new Smackdown Heavyweight Champion, Cody Rhodes.”

- “Kingdom” hits the speakers and a new look Cody Rhodes makes his way to the ring.

Rhodes: “Why Cody Why? It’s all I’ve been hearing since last night. You want to know why, I will tell you why. You see, for decades this company has done nothing but make a mockery of the Rhodes family name. First, they make my dad, who was a great Champion wear yellow polka dots. Then they take my brother Dustin and dress him in a bodysuit and make him some sort of freak show and don’t even get me started on his entire time with Luna Vachon. Now, don’t get me wrong, Dustin did everything he could with that gimmick and made it great but he wasn’t allowed to make it on his own. And then there’s me. The higher ups have NEVER had a clue what to do with me. Put me with Hardcore Holly, put me in The Legacy, Put me with Drew McIntyre, put me with Damien Sandow, put me in a Goldust copycat body suit and I did it all, but the entire time they wasted me. I was no longer waiting for my opportunity and I decided that it was my time to take my opportunity."”

- “Swiss Made” hits the speakers and out walks the former champion, Cesaro.

Cesaro: “Wah, wah, wah. All I hear is a whiny little bitch. Rhodes, did you see me crying and whining with everything that I went through for the past few years. NO! I went out and became champion and not by taking the low road, I won that title with honor.”

Rhodes: “Who cares about honor? Gold is all that matters and in just over 3 weeks I will add to my collection when I become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. As for tonight, I’m done.”

- Rhodes goes to leave the ring but is stopped by Christian.

Christian: “Not so fast Cody. In case you have forgotten, this is the Championship Series month and as far as Shane and I am concerned, you’ve got some serious contenders for that title of yours. In fact, next week the title will be defended against my choice and that is the man that beat you just one week ago and the #2 ranked superstar on Smackdown, Sheamus.”

- Rhodes looks pissed but begins to leave again.

Christian: “But that’s not it, you see tonight there is going to be a 10-man gauntlet ranking match to see how the 3-12 ranks pan out. In two weeks, we will have a fatal 4-way between the top 4 ranked guys to see who challenged you in 3 weeks for that title. But that is STILL not all. In tonight’s main event, Cody Rhodes WILL defend the Smackdown Heavyweight Champion against the #1 ranked star on Smackdown and former champion, Cesaro.”

- The crowd goes crazy at this announcement as Cesaro stares down Cody and Cody looks livid as he leaves.

News/Rumors coming out of night one of the Dusty Rhodes Classic

The first night of the Dusty Rhodes Classic is over and there are some rumors coming out of it.

The Adonises made their debut to a chorus of boos. It isn't known if the fans are booing their arrogance or were expecting more after recent vignettes. WWE Officials aren't completely sold on their new tag team and they may not have much of a future, even after the recent vignettes.

It is being reported that War Machine was offered a contract prior to their match in the tournament and WWE Officials had big plans for them, including a possible rivalry with Sanity or shotgunning them to the main roster to join the Wyatt Family, but it is being rumored that officials heard that War Machine had actually signed a contract with NJPW after agreeing to come in for the tournament and therefore were given the loss.

It is also being reported that WWE officials were impressed with Reno SCUM and have invited them to the Performance Center to take another look at them and they have a chance at being offered a contract soon.

WWE officials haven't been sure what to do with fan favorite Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch recently and after their showing the last week as a team they might put them together as a full-time team in the near future.

#DIY is being looked at as future tag team champions and are rumored to get a nice long run in the tournament and possibly be shotgunned to the main roster.

Heavy Machinery was also impressive in their loss to the champions and many believe it's only a matter of time before we see them full-time on NXT TV.

The Helms Dynasty looked impressive against the bigger War Machine and they might be given a serious look at becoming tag champs when teams start getting called up to the main roster.

Guerrillas of Destiny continue to look impressive and many believe that the only reason they haven't been called up to the main roster is because they aren't sure where to put them but that it could come as soon as the night after Summer Slam.

Helms Dynasty winning was definitely a shock. I kind of went back and forth with who I wanted and it was one of my toughest choices. I hadn't planned on keeping War Machine right now anyway around because I need spaces open and wasn't sure what to do. Even though having them lose to Sanity might be better I went with Helm Dynasty.

Reno SCUM gave a good fight and that was another tough one but with The Adonises getting the vignettes recently I couldn't have them lose right off the bat.

Lorcan/Burch gave DIY a seriously tough fight though which is why I put the news in about them as well.

Yeah decided to add the news/rumors at the last moment.
