TEAM CHALLENGE LEAGUE FORMAT CONFIRMATION

What was previously a rumor is now confirmed. It is confirmed that in the Team Challenge Series matches anyone can compete in the singles and tag matches and it does not have to be the same from series to series. Each superstar can compete in either the singles or the tag. This will bring more strategy into the game and announcements do not have to be made until match time.

HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT ON SLIGHT RESTRUCTURING

It has just been learned that the initial season of the WWL there will only be 3 teams in the TCL. 2 of the previously announced teams (Undisputed Era and Sanity) will now compete in the new NXT TCL. They will be joined by British Strong Style and Forgotten Sons. It is now looking that there will only be 4 participants in the NXT NA and NXT Tag leagues.

The winners in the NXT Leagues will also be guaranteed spots in the main roster leagues in Season 2.

By adding the NXT TCL it looks like I have actually cleared up a few matches so I am trying to figure out where I can put in some more league matches.

- The show begins as we pan around the crowd and then the camera goes to the ring where we see someone standing in the middle.

???: “Welcome to a whole new concept in professional wrestling/wrestling entertainment, or whatever you want to call it. A few months ago, a new investor came in and bought out the World Wrestling Entertainment. Unlike many wrestling owners, this gentleman plans to remain in the back and deal exclusively with the business side of things. Tonight, the WWE becomes the World Wrestling League. Tonight, the business changes forever. My name is Rainier Wilz and I will be the acting commissioner of this new concept in wrestling. All of our competitors have been placed in leagues and divisions within the following 4 groupings: men’s, women’s, cruiserweights, and NXT which has been kept around. A top each of these groups is the all new Team Challenge League. The Team Challenge League is a way for factions to prove who really is the best in a series of matches. Each league match will have a singles, tag, and 6-man match where points will be earned. Tonight, we bring you 6 huge matches including a big Team Challenge League Series as The Balor Club faces the reunited Wyatt Family, but lets get started with a big triple threat match in the Cruiserweight division.”

Cedric Alexander v. TJP v. Ariya Daivari

HIGHLIGHTS:
- TJP delivered a sit out front slam to Daivari but only got a 2 count
- TJP delivered a reverse double chicken wing gutbuster to Alexander
- Daivari delivered a superkick to TJP for a 2 count
- Alexander delivered the Lumbar Check to Daivari, but TJP broke up the pinfall at 2 ¾.
- TJP delivered an arm breaker to Alexander as Daivari was prone on the mat. TJP got a 2 count.

- Alexander delivered the Lumbar Check to TJP but he rolled out of the ring. Daivari was perched on top of the ropes as this happened and delivered a frog splash to Alexander.

HIGHLIGHTS:
- The Bludgeon Brothers delivered a big double back body drop to Gallows and got a 2 count.
- The Bludgeon Brothers a lifting assisted sitout powerbomb to Gallows for another 2 count
- Rowan delivered a shoulder block to Anderson for a 1 count
- Rowan delivered a spinning back kick to Anderson for a 2 count
- Anderson delivered a Gun Stun to Rowan out of nowhere for a 2 count.

- Rusev locked in the Accolade but Rhyno was too close to the ropes.

- Wyatt picked Balor up in a suplex but tossed him to the mat.
- Gallows and Balor delivered a double back elbow to Harper
- Harper delivered a double underhook suplex to Gallows
- Harper delivered a dropping arm bar to Gallows
- Harper and Wyatt delivered a double back bodydrop to Gallows.
- Gallows fought out of the Wyatts corner and delivered a big boot to Wyatt
- Wyatt whipped Balor over the top rope and brought him back in with a suplex
- Wyatt delivered a spinning gut buster on Balor over his knee
- Rowan came in and tossed Balor around the ring and locked in the double fist to the temples.
- Balor delivered a running shotgun kick to Rowan sending him into the corner
- Balor delivered the Coup de Gras but Wyatt broke up the count.
- Balor was able to delivered a 2nd Coup de Gras but once again it was broken up
- The Bludgeon Brothers delivered an assisted powerbomb on Balor for a 2 count
- Harper delivered a big shoulder block to Anderson
- Anderson got Harper into his corner and tagged in Gallows who delivered snake eyes.
- Harper delivered a fireman’s carry, followed by a superkick and a discuss lariat but only got a 2 count before Anderson broke up the pinfall.
- The match broke down briefly at this point.

Analysis

- The Balor Club got off to a huge start in the Team Challenge League by shockingly sweeping the Wyatt Family, especially since Harper and Rowan basically dominated their tag match. The sweep not only earned them the 6 points from individual matches but also the 3 points for the series win. This gives them the maximum 9 points you can earn in any series match.
- Drew McIntyre and Rusev came up big with wins in the IC League.
- The biggest upset of the night has to have come in the Cruiserweight League where Ariya Daivari pulled off the big win in the first Triple Threat match of the season. He came in as the biggest underdog in the division.

What a huge start to the WWE League! Balor Club getting nine points is big to start out! Rusev and McIntyre getting wins are also nice starts for those guys! Divari with the upset yeah that's a word for it hahaha!
