Re: Bard's Retro Universe | Three Way Dance

    Monday Night Raw
    January 9th, 1995

    In-Ring Segment
-We see Jerry "The King" Lawler talking in the ring to start the show. He has some talent from his Memphis Wrestling come out to the ring, and he berates many of them, telling all of them they will not make it here ever! However, they can go back to Memphis and watch King dominate the WWF!

    Singles Match | Intercontinental Championship
Razor Ramon (c) vs. Owen Hart
Razor and Owen matched up very well within this match. Razor displayed his power and beat down Hart throughout a lot of the match. Owen was able to work down the back and the legs of Ramon, which would lead to Owen putting Ramon into the Sharpshooter! Bret Hart would hit the ring, and hit Hart from behind causing the DQ finish.12:17 Bret Hart and Owen Hart would then start to argue, but here comes Jeff Jarrett and The Roadie!? The Roadie blindsides Bret Hart, and we have a doubleteam! Owen shrugs this off and heads to the back, and the Intercontinental Champion, Razor Ramon steps back in and helps fight off Jarrett and Roadie.
    Spoiler

    Royal Rumble Report
–Todd Pettengill provides the new Royal Rumble Report. WWF Champion Diesel cuts a promo saying whoever he is facing at the Royal Rumble better be prepared to meet a running freight train. He then goes on to say, he does not want to wait to see who he is facing and says he will see everyone in King's Court later tonight.

    Singles Match
    Surge vs. Hakushi (w/Shinja)
Hakushi hits a few martial arts moves and unceremoniously finishes Surge off quickly. 1:44
    Spoiler

    King's Court
King has Diesel out in the ring, and Diesel is saying he wants to know who he is facing at the Rumble now! King waits for someone to come out, but then he asks who Diesel would like to face for the title? Diesel goes to speak, but King slides behind him and connects with a low-blow! King then goes on to beat down Diesel, and even picks up the WWF Championship and nails Diesel over the head with it! Lawler says he looks forward to the Rumble, and capturing the WWF Championship!

    Singles Match
King Kong Bundy (w/Ted DiBiase) vs. Gary Sabaugh
Bundy throws Gary all over the ring and connects with a couple of avalanches. Bundy would hit a body slam and a big splash to end the match. 0:55 Ted DiBiase would get on the microphone and says that Bundy is primed to win the Royal Rumble!
    Spoiler

    Vignette
–Kama is still riding his motorcycle through the desert but he is coming soon to the WWF!

    In-Ring Segment
-Jeff Jarrett is back in the ring for his song that he promised last week. He goes to start, but Bret Hart enters the ring and attacks The Roadie! Jarrett bails to the outside and tells Bret Hart he will meet Jarrett in a singles match next week!

      WCW Main Event
      January 8th, 1995

      Backstage Segment
-Gene Okerlund; in the heel locker room with Avalanche, the Butcher, Colonel Robert Parker, the Blacktop Bully, Bunkhouse Buck, and Meng; urges fans to call 1-900-370-3WCW to vote for who they wish to see wrestle in the main event. The calls cost ninety-nine cents. The babyface locker room, where Tony Schiavone is, features Sting, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, the Guardian Angel, and Dustin Rhodes.

      Singles Match | Television Championship
Johnny B. Badd (c) vs. Arn Anderson (w/Colonel Robert Parker & Meng)
Johnny B. Badd had this match won after a beautiful sunset flip powerbomb, but thanks to a distraction by Parker, Meng would hit Badd over the head with a foreign object. Anderson would hit the AA Spinebuster for the win and the title! 7:22
      Spoiler

      Backstage Promo
–Badd tells Okerlund that he wants a rematch. Referee Randy Anderson says that his decision in the title match stands because he can only go on what he sees. Okerlund is outraged and urges fans to call him on option four of the WCW Hotline to see if they want Badd to get a rematch.

Tag Team Match | WCW Tag Team Championships
Stars & Stripes (c) vs. Harlem Heat
This was a very good brawl and some great tag team chemistry from both sides. In the ending sequence, Stevie Ray took out The Patriot, which would leave Bagwell to eat a heel kick by Booker T to end the match. 11:02
      Spoiler

      Singles Match
      Alex Wright vs. Barry Houston
Wright takes it to Houston very quickly and ends the match with a picture perfect moonsault! 0:53
      Spoiler

–Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, and Jimmy Hart give a promo. Hogan and Savage agree to watch each other’s backs, with Hogan also warning Big Van Vader to pick his spots carefully if he is coming after him.

–Bischoff says that 60% of the votes for the babyface locker room went to Sting and Avalanche got 40% of the vote in the heel locker room so both men will wrestle in the main event. Heenan keeps complaining about how giving power to the fans is not a good idea.

      Singles Match
      Sting vs. Avalanche
This was a very nice back and forth match that saw Avalanche beat down Sting. Sting would battle back and as it seemed he was going for the win, The Faces of Fear would hit the ring causing a DQ. 5:17 After the bell, the Faces of Fear briefly beat on Sting before the Guardian Angel, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, and Dustin Rhodes make the save.

Nice couple of shows. I'm getting a little history lesson here, Elias' gimmick was really just a copy and paste of Double J huh?

I like Lawler as an opponent for Diesel a lot.

Justice for Johnny B. Badd! I've been dialing the WCW hotline for the past hour just spamming option 4.

Almost literally, but Elias has had a pretty long life span with it! I plan on working with Double J quite a bit and develop him better.

I'm not sure what Lawler was up to at this time? I think he was feuding with a celebrity...I like this a lot better lol. Plus my King CAW looks so good!

            Poor Marc Mero! Keep dialing!

                WCW Monday Night Nitro
                January 16th, 1995

                Opening Promo
Eric Bischoff is in an empty room. Eric Bischoff says that now is the time to start competing, now is the time to start pushing the envelope. As many people know, WCW went through some changes in the last few days and have adjusted the roster. We will begin seeing free agents show up to try out for WCW, but there are members already here. The next Pay-Per-View is February 19th, and WCW needs some number one contenders for each of the titles as they will all be defended at SuperBrawl V. First, Eric Bischoff has the number one contender for Hulk Hogan's WCW World Heavyweight Championship, and he will be unveiled at some point tonight! However, we will see some action to determine the number one contender for Vader's United States Championship, and see some action to see who will compete for the vacated Cruiserweight Championship.

                Singles Match
Diamond Dallas Page vs. Ricky Santana
We see a new attitude from Diamond Dallas Page. He is wearing a pink and black jumpsuit that has a big diamond on the back of it. He is also showing a new aggression and is beating down Santana for most of this match. Santana got a late fury going in the ending stages of this match, but was caught out of nowhere with the Diamond Cutter. 7:21
                Spoiler

                Backstage Segment
Hulk Hogan is backstage with the Renegade and he says it doesn't matter who his opponent is, brother. Hulk Hogan with his new friend, Renegade will come out on top, brother! They will show that tonight in the main event as Hogan and Renegade, brother, take on two free agents, brother!

                Tag Team Match
Flyin' Brian Pillman & Dean Malenko vs. Steven Regal & Bobby Eaton
This was the first tag match for Pillman and Malenko together. It is believed Bischoff actually put them into this match to see how they work together, to put them against each other for the Cruiserweight Championship. Pillman came out hot with a lot of leaping dropkicks and clotheslines taking down Regal and Eaton. Eventually Regal would slow down Pillman, and take control of this match. Pillman would make a hot tag onto Malenko which Dean would clean house, and look to be finishing the match, until Eaton distracted him, which would lead to Pillman taking himself and Eaton out. Regal would hit a low-blow behind the referee's back and followed with a roll-up. 9:48
                Spoiler

                Singles Match
                Sabu vs. Diamond Dave
This was a very quick match in which Sabu would beat the tar out of Diamond Dave, and eventually elbow him through a table. 2:33
                Spoiler

                Backstage Segment
Vader has a promo backstage displaying that no man is brave enough to challenge Vader for the United States Championship! OOOOoooOOOOOooooOOOOOoooooOOOOO YYYYyyyyyeaahHHHHHHHH! Macho Man is here! Macho Man confronts Vader! Sting is also here! Sting says that he helped bring in Macho Man, and at SuperBrawl V it will be a triple threat match! Vader against Sting and Macho Man Randy Savage!

                Tag Team Match
Hulk Hogan & The Renegade vs. Duane Gill & Jason Knight
This was a very simple squash match to end the night. Renegade ran all over Knight for the first minute of this match, before Hogan asked for a tag. Knight tagged in Gill, but he just ran right into a boot by Hogan, followed by the leg drop. 3:02
                Spoiler

                In-Ring Segment
Hulk Hogan gets on the microphone. He is yelling at Bischoff to tell him who he is facing at SuperBrawl V! The lights go dim...mist begins to fill the arena...this pumped up music begins to play...who is that? THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR IS HERE IN WCW! Warrior hits the ring and is standing toe to toe with Hogan! Renegade gets in the middle of the pair of mega-stars, and is snarling at Warrior! What a debut!

                  Monday Night Raw
                  January 16th, 1995

                  Show Opener
Vince McMahon and Shawn Michaels are doing commentary and they are still in Houston, Texas. This is the “go home” show for the Royal Rumble. Shawn announces he will be in the Rumble.

                  Tag Team Match
Bob Holly & 1-2-3 Kid vs. The Heavenly Bodies (w/Jim Cornette)
The bout departs from the usual tag team formula as the Bodies attack before the bell and hold the advantage until the Kid gets the hot tag. Holly tackles Dr. Tom Pritchard when the Bodies try to double suplex the Kid and that produces another “upset” finish. Bam Bam Bigelow, Tatanka, and Ted DiBiase, who watched much of the bout from the aisle, walk away unimpressed. 5:36
                  Spoiler

                  Backstage Segment
Bret Hart cuts a promo saying that he may have not wrestled since Survivor Series, but dammit, he does not have any ring rust and he will defeat Jeff Jarrett here tonight! Then, he will go on to win the Royal Rumble this Sunday!

                  Singles Match
Mantaur (w/Jim Cornette) vs. Jason Arhndt
Mantaur has a completely different look now, with makeup in the design of horns from his eyes to the back of his bald head. He also has a manager in Cornette. Mantaur runs through a few power moves and finishes off Arhndt 1:47
                  Spoiler

                  Segment
Todd Pettengill runs through the Royal Rumble card.

                  Singles Match
Bret Hart vs. Jeff Jarrett (w/The Roadie)
This was a very solid back and forth match. Jarrett had Hart on the ropes many times in this match, and even at one point Owen Hart came down to the ring and seemingly helped Hart by distracting Jarrett!? This led to Hart putting Jarrett into the Sharpshooter, but Hart would AGAIN get the referee's attention, which would allow the Roadie to BLAST Hart over the head with the guitar!
                  Spoiler

                  In-Ring Segment
Jerry Lawler interviews the Million Dollar Corporation, represented tonight by Irwin R. Schyster, Bam Bam Bigelow, King Kong Bundy, and Tatanka. DiBiase says that when Bigelow and Tatanka win at the Royal Rumble and take the tag team titles that they will defend them next week against the Smoking Gunns. King says that when he defeats Diesel, he will defend the title against Bundy! Diesel made his way down to the ring, and he challenges Bundy to a match right now!

                  Singles Match
Diesel vs. King Kong Bundy (w/IRS, Tatanka, Bam Bam Bigelow, Ted DiBiase, Jerry Lawler)
This was a hard hitting affair. Lots of interference throughout, and we did not see a clean finish. IRS would hit the ring and eat a boot, but Bam Bam and Tatanka would come from behind and beat down Deisel. This would allow King to come in and throw some tight shots at Diesel. 1-2-3 Kid and Bob Holly would come down and make the save with chairs! 7:31
                  Spoiler

                  Singles Match
Mabel (w/Mo & Oscar) vs. Lee Tobin
Just a lethal squash match with Mable throwing Tobin over the top rope about five times, displaying what he will do this Sunday at the Royal Rumble. 2:17
                  Spoiler

                    Video Package
A video package shows Raven walking through a snow-covered residential neighborhood and how he helped Steve Richards find himself. Then, in an arena’s boiler room he says he is a tortured soul and warns Tommy Dreamer to take heed.

Joey Styles welcomes the audience to the broadcast

                    Singles Match
Paul Lauria (w/Jason) vs. Mikey Whipwreck
Jason’s interference helps Lauria weather Whipwreck’s early offensive burst and Lauria uses a fan’s crutch to beat Whipwreck against the guardrail. Whipwreck wakes up the crowd when a dive sends Lauria over the guardrail and Whipwreck uses a flying body press to fly from the ring into the crowd. Back in, Whipwreck spams roll ups but cannot put Lauria away. Jason gets on the apron, kicks Whipwreck in the back of the head, and Lauria comes off the top rope with a flying bulldog to win. 11:02 After the match, Whipwreck pescados onto Jason. He forgets about Lauria, though, who sneaks up behind him and blasts him with a chair.

Joey Styles thanks everyone for tuning in, and he goes on to explain some of the people in ECW. Bad Breed are “uncouth British punks who would rather fight than love…hence the girth. The Pitbulls are “high strung powerhouses with a knack for brawling; Beasts with a lust for blood.”

Joey Styles explains why Chris Benoit is calling himself “the Crippler,” noting his recent efforts to injure Ron Simmons, Sabu, Hack Myers, and 2 Cold Scorpio.

                    Singles Match
                    Al Snow vs. Osamu Nishimura
Snow and Nishimura start with some technical exchanges, with a vocal element of the fan base booing it. Much of that stops when Snow tries a springboard knee drop from the apron and a slugfest breaks out when each man gets frustrated. Snow kicks out of two German suplexes and two missile dropkicks, finding the will to block a suplex, drop Nishmura over the top rope and execute a springboard guillotine leg drop to win his debut. 7:22
                    Spoiler

                    Backstage Segment
ECW Tag Team Champions the Public Enemy give a shout out to Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko for not minding their place as the second-best team in the promotion. Rocco Rock says that the New Generation the WWF is talking about is them. They use a green frog figurine to make fun of Paul E. Dangerously, saying it is not an accurate figure because the mouth is not big enough.

                    Tag Team Match
                    Bad Breed vs. The Pitbulls
Both teams immediately tear into each other, with Pitbull #2 and Axl exchanging weapons shots near the ring and Pitbull #1 battling Ian in the crowd. One fan noticeably winches when Axl uses a cookie sheet to bash #2 over the head several times near the guardrail and in less than four minutes everyone in the match has color. After #1 eats a DDT on a chair, the Breed go to Superbomb him, only to have #1 reverse the move into a super hurricanrana on Ian and get the pin. 7:17
                    Spoiler

                    After the Match
Ian clotheslines Axl! Ian then pulls a chair out of the crowd and beats him with it! He gets out a shovel and beats down Axl making him bleed even more! He pulls a table out from under the ring, and powerbombs Axl right through it! What an ending to the first televised episode of Extreme Championship Wrestling!

Oh my god The Renegade and The Warrior in the same ring. That got a chuckle out of me. One thing I've got to say from my watch through of early Nitro is that The Renegade is just the worst character. I mean, not worse than anything Ed Leslie was doing, but still pretty bad. I wonder how long 1995 Warrior lasts in WCW?

Do you have Macho Man working both WCW and WWF? Or has he jumped ship?

WWF seems pretty rough around this time. I'm not too inspired by a reworked Mantaur character. I do like Diesel vs. Lawler, and the whole deal with Jarrett and The Harts.

As for the Rumble Match, there's no doubt in my mind Mable is winning based on the way he manhandled that local, plus the sheer size of him!

Not too much to note from the ECW episode, but I am looking forward to Chris Benoits development and the rivalry coming up with Public Enemy seems like it'll be good.

Warrior didn't make his WCW debut until 1998 I want to say? So, this is really changing history! Him and the Renegade being in the same ring was just too good to pass up, lol.

Macho Man is in WCW exclusive at this point. Him and Vader should be fun, and Sting is in the mix! Why not!

1995 was the worst year in WWF history. I'm going to attempt to fix that! Diesel and Lawler was completely my idea, and the Jarrett, Hart's, Ramon is being completely reworked as well.

The 1995 Rumble was a HUGE mistake in my opinion, so expect surprises and massive differences from real life.

Yeah, debut show of ECW. Just displaying some talents, nothing too big yet. Got some stories going with Axl and Ian feuding and the team disbanding early on. Benoit and Malenko being brought up. Al Snow catching a break. Some solid action! I love me some Pitbulls!

Yeah, I think 95 was a pretty crappy year in the WWF, also. Which part of the 95 Rumble was a huge mistake in your opinion? HBK winning or the main championship match mayhem?

Either way, this is fun! I don't even remember some of these guys you're using, lol. I think you've really captured the feel of WCW '95, for sure.

Both! Michaels should have just won the 1996 Rumble. 1995 should have gone to someone else.

Diesel and Hart was a fine match, but meh...Lawler would have been a fun heel to see Diesel match with.

I'm glad you're enjoying WCW! I honestly am having a blast playing these and posting them!

Wow! You really did the rumble justice here. I’m totally happy with the result. A little tension was lost because I knew it wasn’t gonna be Michaels who won, and I also doubted you would go with Luger, but I was expecting Bret so this is a pleasant surprise.

Also there was a moment in the match where you wrote something like “Mabel picks a fight with Henry O. Godwin. Mabel wins.” And my heart dropped reading the second part because I thought you just had Mabel win the royal rumble.
