    WCW Saturday Night
    Arlington, Texas

    #8 Ted DiBiase w/ Virgil v. #9 Big Bossman

With one minute in the match Virgil almost got caught hitting Bossman with a nightstick. While they were all distracted DiBiase was trying to get handcuffs ready by attaching them to the guard rail. The plan fell through when someone in the crowd wearing a President Regan mask slapped the handcuffs on Dibiase. Bossman had no choice but to crawl in the ring and beat the ten count.

    Spoiler

Mean Gene is with Brutus who promises to deliver tonight against Psycho Sid. He wants to make the fans and his best friend hulk proud! During the interview however Brutus is ambushed by three guys dressed in suits with Nixon mask on. What a brutal beat down. They triple powerbomb Brutus off the ramp and onto some production equipment. The three men bounced thru the crowd separately.

    Tito Santana v. Vampiro

Vampiro looked great, but Tito’s ring savvy made a big difference. Tito locked in a crossface but the match was interrupted by demon and Gangrel. Konnan and La parka ran to the ring and a brawl ensued. For whatever reason these guys don’t like eachother

    Spoiler

    Y2Js v. Public Enemy

PE has quite a cult following from their ECW days. Match was quality. Y2Js did win the match but maybe lost the night. After Janetty and Jericho landed a super kick for the pin Rocco turned it into a brawl. The hardcore style def gave PE the advantage. Before WCW could get control in the ring, PE put both Jericho and Janetty through a table. PE may not be the most technically sound tag team in the division but they definitely know how to bring the fight.

    Spoiler

    Mortis v. Alex Wright

Great debut match for Mortis. Both men impressed but mortis seemed almost impossible to keep down. Eerily similar to the WWFs undertaker. Mortis also had quite an arsenal and got the pin after delivering a top rope Samoan Drop that he calls To Hell

    Spoiler

    #4 Psycho Sid v. #14 ….?

JJ Dillon comes out and apologizes to the crowd for the main event……ALMOST being compromised. Brutus suffered some serious injuries and will not be able to compete, However…. We were able to find a last minute man more than suitable for the occasion!

    *BAGPIPES PLAY*

    ITS RODDY ROWDY PIPER!!!

What a main event. Sid controlled most the match and at times seemed like he was toying with piper. A combination of ring rust and a size disadvantage is not helping Hot Rods circumstances at all. The match seemed all but over when Piper shocks the world and slips out of a powerbomb, then quickly slaps on a sleeper hold that he held onto for deer life until the heavily favored psycho Sid went to sleep!! What a major upset and huge win for Piper! The crowd is in a frenzy!

      WCW Monday Nitro
      San Antonio, TX

The show starts with the announcers going over tonight’s card. It truly is a stacked event. We are one week closer to Fall Brawl where The Hogan reign ends, and a new one begins! A promo starts playing on the big screen. It goes pitch black for 20 seconds then the words ‘ITS TIME’ appears on the screen. Half the crowd cheered, the other half stayed confused.

      Eddie Gurrero v. Rey Mysterio

Eddie came to the ring and called out Mysterio. Eddie says last week was a fluke! Mysterio comes out and the action ensued.
In a match that kept the crowd in their feet these two had a ton of action. Amazing luchador wrestling on display. Gurrero hit a frog splash but hurt himself in the process. Eddie made a cover but it was late, Mysterio kicked out at 2.5. As the two were staggering to their feet Guerrero went for a hurricurana that was reversed flipped into a quick pin by Mysterio! Afterwards Mysterio went to shake hands but Guerrero slapped it away and headed to the back.

Horseman cut a promo calling out Hennig and Jarrett for next weeks Nitro. Mongo will have his debut when he tags with the enforcer v. Hennig and Jarret.

      DDP v. Rick Martel

Martel who had his WCW debut ruined by Hugh Morris now draws possibly an even more dangerous opponent in DDP. Good match, Martel def still has it. Match concluded when DDP hit Martel with a diamond cutter outside the ring. DDP was picking him up to put him in the ring for the cover when out of nowhere The Macho Man smashed a chair over DDPs back and rolled him in the ring where Martel put his arm over DDP for the win! Macho is back!?! OHHHHHHhhhh Yeaaaaaaaaaaa

      Hugh Morris v. Jim Duggan

Hugh Morris had a huge rookie win over Rick Martel last week. Kevin Sullivan is touting him as the future. The match itself ended in A draw after the 20 minute time limit. Duggan had control most of the match, but it’s important to note that right as time ran out Morris hit Duggan with a Punchline, but didn’t have enough time left to attempt a pin.

Jericho stopped JJ Dillon in the hall and asked why The Y2JS keep getting left off shows?. Jericho says Y2JS are the hottest team in the world jack. JJ conceded that Y2Js have def been an exciting addition to the roster, but WCW is just so stacked with talent. Tell you what…. This Saturday he’ll book them in a match against hmmmmmmm…… The Steiner Brothers! Crowd cheers, Jericho looks a little concerned. May have bit off more than he can chew!

      Tourney Match
#5 Bam Bam Bigelow v. #12 TX Tornado

Great back n forth. Match went to the judges scorecard. Tornado did have a chance when he slapped on the Claw but his hand slipped right off! Prior to this match nobody has been able to get out of the Claw. Tornado is pleading to the ref that Bigelow put Vaseline on his head, but the ref seem stumped. Bam bam attacked a distracted Tornado. Bam bam won after delivering a flying headbutt!

The Last Samurais v. The Nasty Boys

The Nasty Boys debut! And it couldn’t have come against a stronger team. The Last Samurais are the hottest team in the division not named Harlem Heat. Exciting match up of power v. Strong style. The match ended when Muta spit green mist in knobs face and then slapped on a heel hook for the tap. After the match Nasty Boys kept the fight going. It took all of security to regain control and separate the two teams. Nasty Boys are exactly that… nasty!

      Cruiserweight Championship
Jushin Liger v. Juventud Guerrero (c)

Another incredible match. The first half was all Juvy and it really looked like he just had Ligers number. But when it mattered most Liger came thru. He blocked a 450 splash and then nailed his version of the brain buster for the pin! This is a potential rivalry that I can get with!

      Main event
      #1 Lex Luger v. #16 Barry Windham

Barry Windhan came out in a Bill Clinton mask. Is he the one who attacked Luger? Luger seems to think so and lays a beat down on windham. Windham did have some solid offense but found himself on the bad end of a torture rack where he was forced to tap. Windham has never been ran through like that in his entire career. Luger was scary. The commentators don’t think windham is the same guy who attacked Luger. Did Luger get redemption or is his attacker still out there? Either way Luger advances to the quarterfinals

        WCW Saturday Night
        Athens, GA

        Konnan v. Demon

This unique rivalry between The Filthy Animals and The New Brood has mainly been bottom feeding the smaller cards. Which is a bit wild considering the talent that’s on both sides. Jn this match Konnan (leader of the Filthy Animals beat Demon with a tequila sunrise after a very good match. Konnan didn’t have much time to celebrate as he was immediately attacked by Vampiro. La parka and Tito Santana gave chase.

        Spoiler

        Television Title
        Chris Benoit v. Prince iakuea

Incredible match that Benoit won, but Iakuea shined. The crowd loved it, meltzer loved it. 4.5 stars he would give it. Match ended when Benoit turned a clothesline into a cross face for the tap. Benoit defends, but Iakueas chomping on the heels.

        Spoiler

On their way to the ring Jericho and Janetty run into Meng and Barbarian. Meng asked Jericho if he thought he was a funny man. Jericho said he was just redecorating and had no idea he blocked their dressing room door. A skeptical Meng told Jericho to watch his back

        Y2Js v. The Steiners

Steiners are currently set for a rematch with Harlem Heat, but Y2Js are a team that is in the hunt. Great match, but Steiners raw power was the X factor. Jericho got caught trying to hit Rick with a hurricurana but he caught Jericho and Scott turned it into a frankensteiner for the pin. Booker and Stevie weee watching from the back and did not seem happy with the results

        Spoiler

When we come back from the break, ECW owner Paul Heyman was in the ring with ECW heavyweight champion Mike Awesome. Heyman says he would put his champion up against any man on the planet. Heyman says if Ted Turner has the gusto, he will put up 200k, but when Awesome wins the tourney, WCW can buy their belt back by paying for ECWs first three pay previews.

        #10Mike Awesome v. #7Ricky steamboat

Mike Tenet was able to give the viewers a little bit of info on Mike Awesome. Tenet said Steambaot may be a slight favorite, but that Awesome may be better than advertised. Awesome had an great match with Ricky Steamboat. Pure wrestling was on display. Ricky went for a flying cross body but awesome caught him in the air and turned it into an Awesome Bomb for the pin. The crowd who has mostly has no idea who Mike Awesome is were a bit shocked, while Heyman ripped through the arena with that I Told You So arrogance.

        Spoiler

Glacier & Alex Wright v. Wrath & Mortis

There’s a lot of history between everyone here aside from Alex Wright. We learn a little more every day. Mortis wants to end Glaciers career, and Glacier who watched ringside as Mortis ended Glaciers mentor career… wants redemption. Surprisingly another show stealer. This match was extremely fun for the fans. Both teams had their chances to close several times but just couldn’t. Match came to a time limit draw, but it’s worth mentioning that in the waning seconds Wrath hit Wright with a Dead 2 Me. Perhaps five more seconds and Wrath gets the pin. After the match Mortis and Glacier continued to fight until separated.

        Spoiler

        #1Sting v. #16One Man Gang

Before the match, DiBiase tried to bribe Sting. Sting declined. Immediately IRS, Virgil and DiBiase tried to attack Sting, but Sting got them all out of the ring without much trouble. JJ Dillon came out and said Money Inc is to stay away from the ring for the entirety of the match, or it will lead to auto disqualification. Once the match started OMG was too much for sting size wise. Gang was putting on a bully like beat down. Sting started to rally back and land some beautiful offense, ONG was able to push out of the first Scorpion Deathlock, but the second time Sting tried to apply the hold was much more successful. OMG, with nowhere to go was forced to tap

          WCW Monday Night Nitro
          Tallahassee, FL

Show starts with DDP in the ring. Page immediately calls out Macho Man to a fight. Says he’s a coward, and WCW was better when he stayed at home. Macho rushed the ring, and they started brawling. Security broke them up as the show went to commercial

Hugh Morris & Faces of Fear v. Jim Duggan & The Steiners

When we return it’s a 3 on 3 tag match. The match was pretty brutal on both sides. Match ended in a double count out as both teams turned a wrestling match into a bar fight. Again, security had to break everyone up. There must be something in the air

          Spoiler

          1 contender at Fall Brawl
Rey Mysterio v. Guerrero v. Psicosis v. Juvy

Very thrilling match. The action came down to Eddie Guerrero and Psicosis. Guerrero was going for a Frog Splash but Psicosis blocked it with his knees and rolled Guerrero over for a fast pin

          Spoiler

Pillman is found bloodied up and unconscious. A Regan mask is placed next to him. Steve Austin discovers him and is enraged. I’m not sure we’ve seen this side of him

          13 Piper v. #5 Bam Bam Bigelow

Piper— who was a last second substitute, and who shocked the world against Pyscho Sid is back against another WCW monster in Bam Bam Bigelow. Bigelow controlled most of the match. Bam bam was looking for the win when someone in a Clinton mask tried to hit him with a chair. Bigelow dodged the chair shot that went right into Piper instead. The ref called the match a DQ and award Piper the win. Bam Bam was furious. Body slammed the ref and then chased the man in the Clinton mask into the crowd.

          Spoiler

Virgil & IRS v. TX Tornado & Rick Martel

Highly competitive, Martel locked on a Boston crab and got the tap out of Virgil. Money Inc has been on a little bit of a ski. Have to say Martel and Tornado looked great.

          Spoiler

          1 Contender for TV Title
          Barry windham v. Prince Iaukea

This was a pretty entertaining affair. Windham used just about every trick in the book and came out on top with a sharp shooter. Iaekea is definitely fun to watch. Let’s hope he finds himself in better match ups moving forward.

          Spoiler

Anderson and Mongo v. Hennig and Jarrett

Intense match. All four competitors had something to prove, but maybe no one more than the debuting Mongo McMichaels. To say he held his own would be an understatement. They match eventually ended in DQ when both teams kept the fight outside the ring and used weapons.

          Spoiler

          #2 Ric Flair v. #10 Mike Awesome

very interesting match up. 13 time champion and leader of the four horseman v. The underground king Mike Awesome. This was a very good match that reached a time limit draw. JJ Dillon was able to grant a 10 minute overtime, but the match still had no clear victor. Tourney rules state that in the event of a time limit draw the win goes to the highest seed! Heyman and Awesome were outraged by the decision. Flair wooooo’d at least 25 times.
