The thing with the Twitter account is that these statements are consistent with stuff he would likely say. Take last year when he told that WR who went to SC that he'd be pumping gas.

Christian Kauffman committed to Alabama. He's a placekicker from Memphis.





The best part? He's getting a full academic ride to Alabama(4.0+ GPA) and will be a walk-on. We're bringing in 2 placekickers and a punter this year. No more missed PAT's or botched punts.

UT is pretty much done at this point, not really anyone on the board that we will land. Overall even with the disappointment on Copeland, I feel that UT had a pretty good day especially given the circumstances. Good luck to the rest of the schools today

Yeah, you really can't ask for a whole lot more considering the circumstances. They did a good job of "recovery". I expected worse, to be honest.

How closely does the NCAA monitor kids getting Academic Scholarships who play sports? Not accusing Bama of ANYTHING, just a general question. Clearly a kid with a 4.0 deserves a full ride....this must be monitored right?

How closely does the NCAA monitor kids getting Academic Scholarships who play sports? Not accusing Bama of ANYTHING, just a general question. Clearly a kid with a 4.0 deserves a full ride....this must be monitored right?

As I understand it, he's under the scrutiny of UA. Meaning, he has to maintain a certain GPA while taking a certain number of hours to keep his academic scholarship. I don't think playing sports will matter since he'll most definitely stay above the required GPA to play a sport if he's on academic scholarship the entire year.
