Re: 2010 Recruiting Thread
I am just blown away. He said the recruiting coach told him " I may not be there, but even if I'm not, you need to be there" Nix said that's all it took for him to commit to Notre Dame" When a coach who may not even be there, says that, its the right place for me"
5 Star DT Ranked the 8th best DT in the country.
I'm sure there are many stories out there similar with other college commits, but this is just a great story seeing that kids still select schools for the university and the academics, not just for the athletics or who the head coach is. It's still a bit surprising to me that it happened with this caliber recruit. This says a lot too about the coaches and staff in limbo at ND. Telling the kid he needs to be there, regardless of where they end up. In one word, unselfish. Hopefully this will only add to the positive for Notre Dame as well as other universities across the country.
This is a big get given the current circumstances at the university. But don't for a second think I'm naive enough not to recognize this is big on the field as well...goodness knows we could use him!A negative mind will never give you a positive life.

Re: 2010 Recruiting Thread
Personally I have no beef, no qualms, no issues with anybody in my walk with life, more-less with anyone on a message board full of people behind a computer screen I've never seen or talked to in person.
You can read into what you want, but I simply saw your post that it was funny a kid would choose Notre Dame over Miami and as a ND fan I was simply asking why. No sweat bro.A negative mind will never give you a positive life.

Re: 2010 Recruiting Thread
2011 Port St. Lucie DB's Lamarcus Brutus and Keelin Smith (Treasure Coast H.S.) commit to FSU.Both are also teammates of 2010 standout LB Jeff Luc.
Lamarcus Brutus is listed by Rivals.com as 6'1", 185 lbs with a posted 4.6 40 yard dash as sophomore but is still growing into his body and developing his running skill. He is listed as a safety prospect and holds offers from the likes of Ohio State, LSU, Mississippi, UCLA, and North Carolina.
Keelin Smith is listed by Rivals.com as 6'3", 185 lbs, and as a corner prospect. He holds offers from the same schools as Brutus.

HUGE catches for the NolesComment

Re: 2010 Recruiting Thread
Following a late October visit to Alabama, most believed that four-star cornerback Mike Harris was going to become a member of the Crimson Tide. That didn't stop Florida State from continuing to recruit the Torrance (CA) El Camino Community College defensive back. The Seminoles' efforts paid off following a visit this evening from recruiting coordinator James Coley.

"I just committed to Coach Coley," Harris said. "My graduation date is really uncertain right now and Alabama had wanted to wait and see, but Coach Coley told me that whether I graduate now or later, Florida State is going to stick by me and I am going to have a spot there. That stood out to me."
IF he makes it to campus he is a 3 to play 2 guy.I dont remember there names but they were allot of fun....Comment
