Re: Win/Loss prediction for your team

    Charleston Southern: Win
    Troy: Win
    Tennessee: Win
    @ Kentucky: Win
    @ LSU: Loss
    Arkansas: Win
    @ Miss. State: Win
    Georgia: Win
    Vanderbilt: Win
    @ South Carolina: Win
    FIU: Win
    Florida State: Win

    SEC Title (Ole Miss): Win
    BCS Title (Texas): Tossup

Either 12-2 (8-1) or 13-1 (8-1). Getting out of Death Valley with a win is questionable.

I mostly agree with your post (my thoughts in bold). LSU is going to be a battle. The winner of that game has produced the BCS Champ three years in a row.

That being said, the WORST they could do is 11-2 (losses to Texas and bowl game)

If they beat Texas, they'll go undefeated until they play Florida, which is really a toss-up, but I'll go with OU
Man, if Oklahoma's players and coaches think like you do, they could lose 2 or 3 games this year. You're taking these squads from last year and assuming they're going to be the same this year. Most of those opponents will be much improved this year. OU could very well be weaker than they were last year, despite some of their position players like Bradford coming back. They're missing an entire offensive line, and it's hard to know how they'll step in regardless of their talent (which is high), because the OL is a unit, and they need to get to know each other first. And that takes time.

The point is that OU is going to have tough games this year. Just like everyone else. And it's hard to predict who is going to give them trouble... because college football is unpredictable. There will be teams in the "preseason top 10" who lose 3 and 4 games. There will be teams outside the top 20 that only lose 1 or 2. But you can bet money that they'll have 3 or 4 games this year that are going to test them.

Look who they have coming back. The entire defense is better IMO, losing Harris and Holmes does hurt a little, but they weren't exactly All Americans back there. Replacing 4/5th's of the OL is challenging, but the unit played a lot last year, at least this is an assumption since the backups were in 2nd halfs most of games.
Now, your talk about OU being better last year, I disagree. The offense I don't think will be THAT good, tough to be that good again when you expect a TD every possession or its a failure, but the defense will be improved. I honestly feel like there might be a couple games close early, but the Sooners pull away with a big win. Cincinnati game last year, Kansas those are two examples. I really feel they are heads and shoulders better than every team they will play besides Texas. Now, talent doesn't amount to everything, coaching does too, and they are a well coached team. I just don't think you'll see a slip up where they overlook an opponent, but hey it could happen.

            Navy Columbus, Ohio - Win

USC Columbus, Ohio -I'm going to say loss, but it's really a toss up

            Toledo at Cleveland, Ohio -Win

            Illinois Columbus, Ohio - Win

Indiana * at Bloomington, Ind.- Win

            Wisconsin Columbus, Ohio - Win

Purdue at West Lafayette, Ind.- Win

            Minnesota Columbus, Ohio- Win

New Mexico State Columbus, Ohio - Win

Penn State at State College, Penn. - Tossup

            Iowa Columbus, Ohio - Win

Michigan at Ann Arbor, Mich. - Win

            I'm thinking 10 or 11 wins. I'd be pretty stunned/happy if it were 12.

              Virginia Cavaliers:

              William and Mary - win
              TCU - loss
@ Southern Mississippi - win (could be tricky though...)
              @ North Carolina - toss-up
              Indiana - win
              @ Maryland - win
              Georgia Tech - win
              Duke - win
              @ Miami - loss
              Boston College - win
              @ Clemson - loss
Virginia Tech - for the love of God we better win. We're overdue for one.

Call me out for being a homer but I don't feel that the seven games I'm fully predicting as wins are much of a stretch at all. The key will be how well the team takes to the spread attack of new offensive coordinator Gregg Brandon, formerly of Bowling Green. I have no concern about the defense; the secondary is stacked with all sorts of talent, and if Al Groh is good for anything at all, it's that he can coach up players in the front seven of our 3-4 front.

                Iowa State

It will be another tricky season with a new offense and coaching staff. Truly, I'd be ecstatic with a 5-7 record. Here's how I think we'll end up:

                Wins:
                *9/3 vs. North Dakota State
                *9/19 @ Kent State
                *9/26 vs. Army

                Losses:
                *10/10 @ Kansas
                *10/24 @ Nebraska
                *11/7 vs. Oklahoma State

                Toss-ups:
                *9/12 vs. Iowa
*10/3 vs. Kansas State (in KC)
                *10/17 vs. Baylor
                *10/31 @ Texas A&M
                *11/14 vs. Colorado
                *11/21 @ Missouri

If we can go 2-4 with the tossups, it'll be a good year. 3-3 or better will be amazing. Yeah I recognize most if not all of the tossups have our opponent as the favorite... but I think Baylor, Kansas State, Colorado, and of course the Hawkeyes are the teams we have the best shots at.

If you made me predict, I'd say 4-8 right now. But that 4th win had better be for the Cy-Hawk Trophy. And yes i realize that if that happened, the Cyclones would start the year 4-0, then go on to finish 0-8 in conference, so maybe it's better that that doesn't happen.

                  Florida State
                  vs. Miami (W)
                  vs. Jacksonville State (W)
                  @ BYU (T/U - W)
                  vs. USF (W)
                  @ Boston College (W)
                  vs. Georgia Tech (W)
                  @ UNC (L)
                  vs. N.C. State (W)
                  @ Clemson (W)
                  @ Wake Forest (W)
                  vs. Maryland (W)
                  @ Florida (L)

I am thinking FSU could go between 9-3 to 11-1 in the regular season.

It seems like someone else has some sense of what they are talking about when it comes to the Oklahoma Sooners, who most of the people on this thread think are going to show, suit up, and simply take the field and magically the other team will be overcome with absolute terror they will simply fold before the opening kickoff. There is no way, no way in hell, not a snowball's chance in hell that Oklahoma even sniff 14-0. And even if they are 13-0 (which also will not happen) the team they face for the title will most likely be an SEC team and that just means another a$$ whoopin' for the Sooners and yet ANOTHER BCS bowl game loss for Mr. Arrogance himself, Stoops. What would that make him then....like 1-5, or 2-5 in BCS games? When it comes down to it Oklahoma is talented, best or 2nd best in the Big 12, but at the end of the day, put the best Big 12 team against the best SEC team in any situation and its a loss for the Big 12. 14-0??? yeah, keep dreaming. Oklahoma IS the Ohio State of the Big 12....YOU MAY WIN A LOT OF GAMES, YOU JUST DON'T WIN MANY THAT MATTER.

Clemson fans talking about how another team doesn't win games that matter? Surely this would be the very definition of irony, yes?

Oklahoma fans crack me up. I agree with the guy that says they will beat Miami and everyone else. You lose to Texas and lose your bowl game though, especially if it's FL in the national title game. FL's whole defense is back...OU won't score 20 points on them, just like last year and FL's offense will put up 31 on OU...31-14 would be my prediction if they met again, but personally I think Texas rolls and goes undefeated...and Fl beats them in a great game.

I'm a Kentucky Wildcats fan...I have no idea what our record will be, we are picked last in the East by most 'experts' and part of me agrees with them, but another part says that outside of the FL, GA, and Alabama games...no one on our schedule in the SEC is really better than us due to inexperienced QB play and horrific offenses.

                        Miami OH Win
                        UL Win
                        FL We get raped
AL We lose, keep it close for a half and lose by 14-21 points in the end.
@SC Loss, but we are long over due against these jokers.
@AU Toss up IMO...Auburn and their new joke of a coach don't impress me much.

well besides us beating your team in the Citrus Bowl with a rookie coach and getting your head coach fired back in '78 because he was hot-head who couldn't keep his emotions in check, we havent won much since then. A national title in '81 but for the most part Clemson has been on the decline for the past 20 years. But, i didnt realize that because my team sucks that i cant have an opinion on yours. I will keep that in mind. So in order to talk smack about OSU or Oklahoma i guess you have to either be a Texas or Florida fan?

You can talk smack all you want. I think your posts are quite comical.

OU and Ohio State both have national titles in the past decade. Clemson can't even win their division in the ACC. Do you really think an OU or Ohio State fan feels offended by smack talk coming from a Clemson fan?

FYI, OU and Ohio State would dominate the ACC.

For the record, again, I don't think OU will go undefeated but we should win a lot of games.

                            11-2 is my prediction.

For the record, again, I don't think OU will go undefeated but we should win a lot of games.
yeah i agree with you 100 percent. OU and OSU will both in fact, win a lot of games. Neither of them however, will win the ones that really matter. OSU will lose to USC, and OU could potentially lose twice or three times. With all respect to Oklahoma, they have a murder schedule. OSU...dominate? maybe my backyard. OSU would lose to VaTech for sure, Miami and FSU would give them fits and UNC and GaTech aren't exactly pushovers. OSU has the benefit of never having to play a conference title game so when they run through their weak-a$$ schedule and beat Michigan again they wait 8 weeks till the title game where they are always completely beatdown. It's kind of funny though, Clemson and OSU have the exact same amount of National Titles in the past 30 years. and yeah, youre also right that we wont win our division, dude, i would be happy if we just finished 6-6 honestly. We have a green coach, a green QB, and no heart or leadership on a team that thinks CJ spiller is GOD. yeah. I know we suck.
