Re: PlayoffProblem.com
Really? I would be shocked if this was the work of a legit PR firm. The site looks like a project from high school computer science class, lol.Ryan Spencer

Re: PlayoffProblem.com
- BCS group launches new website that challenges the concept of implementing a playoff in college football www.playoffproblem.com 11:35 AM Nov 25th from web
(Writer's Note: Your fearless leader, John Taylor, is dealing with his 47th computer problem in the past two weeks, so I'm filling in for him with a post on this lovely Thanksgiving morning from the West Coast.
I know that there was some news a couple months ago that the BCS had hired a PR firm to do some work. Maybe this is some of their work, although the website is pretty cheesy...Comment

The title of this is just too funny:
If BCS not completely broken, don't fix it
it's ok if it's broken, seriously, just be glad it's not completely broken

Re: PlayoffProblem.com
Embarrasing. bcs knows there are about to be 5 unbeaten teams & 3 of those never had a realistic shot @ winning the title. This is the "nightmare scenario" I've always hoped would come to fruition. The more confused & convoluted the situation becomes, the more obvious the phoniness of the presidents becomes.Originally posted by VP Richard M. Thanks, dookies!Comment

Re: PlayoffProblem.com
My favorite line is probably this one:
"A playoff would guarantee bigger problems, more controversy, more disappointed teams and more frustrated fans."
LOL....yeah, that must be why March Madness is so controversial. And it seems every championship is tarnished by the thought of "what if #66 had made it in". LOL comical.
And I think it is very easy to answer the websites "tough" questions:
Who would participate? 8 Teams.
How many automatic qualifiers? 0.
What would be the criteria to qualify? BCS top 8.
What would be the criteria for seedings? BCS 1-8, with some clauses to switch teams so that conference foes don't meet in the first round.
Where would the games be played? 1st two rounds on campus of higher seed. Championship at the Bowls....the losing 6 would also play consolation bowls...as they do today.
When would the games be played? 1st two weeks in December. Then the Bowls as normal.
If you could resolve all that would everyone be satisfied? NO!! I'll agree with this. But alot fewer will be unsatisfied.Comment

Re: PlayoffProblem.com
Who would participate? 16 Teams.
How many automatic qualifiers? 11.
What would be the criteria to qualify? Conference champions and the top 5 at-large teams through the BCS standings, or top 10 BCS for independents
What would be the criteria for seedings? BCS standings, with some clauses to switch teams so that conference foes don't meet in the first round.
Where would the games be played? The top 4 seeds host regionals for the first 2 rounds, much like the opening rounds of college baseball. The final 4 is held at a bowl site.
When would the games be played? The first 2 weekends after Selection Day for the regionals, then Jan 1 for the semifinals, then Jan 8 for the finals.
If you could resolve all that would everyone be satisfied? Every team would either get a shot at the championship or have a pretty clear reason why they missed out. No more winning your conference and only getting a pat on the back.Comment
