Re: Mike Leach fired
I don't think anyone would argue that. TT and Leach had a pretty tenuous relationship. There's a timeline somewhere of events. I'll see if I can dig it back up. It was interesting to see some of the smaller issues.Comment

Re: Mike Leach fired
I played football and have had enough (2 minor/1 major) concussions or as the sometimes overly dramatic would say "brain injuries". All concussions are not created equal. Just because yours appeared to be serious and traumatic doesn't mean every one is the same.
MKoz is 100% right it was not a shed or an electrical closet. It was a football garage and the visiting team's press room.
As for how torturous it must have been, there were trainer/staff statements mixed in this thread that discount James' assertions. They state he was sitting, walking around, sleeping, and eating ice out of the machine.
He was not chained to a wall in a medieval dungeon or handcuffed to a furnace in a musty electrical closet.
Leach should have been smarter how he handled a malcontent like James w/ what trainers diagnosed as a minor concussion.
But the drama queens need to give it up. It's not like the kid was tortured or water boarded.
I like how some people talk about this like they were there.Comment

Re: Mike Leach fired
Leach at Texas Tech is done. the only way possible Leach could/would come back is if the AD, Chancellor, Board of Regents, and any other admins that would have any say in the matter are either fired, quit/retired, or pass naturally.Comment

Re: Mike Leach fired
You keep saying that the only thing you believe is what's been sworn onto a document. Good for you.
Most people think for themselves and use common sense. Just because something is sworn on a document doesn't mean you should take that to heart man. Wake up. Is that really how you live your life? OJ trial had sworn statements from OJ. Do you think he was innocent? Don't answer that, I'm just using that for reference. Think for yourself, don't play lawyer on a message board and close your eyes to anything that's not on a sworn document. Wake up.Comment

I said borderline delusional earlier, but you are in fact being delusional. Who's the one falling in line with the mob mentality? Do you know what that phrase even means? You're the one on that side of the fence.

Re: Mike Leach fired
Well typically when you sue to get your job back and win it sets the table for a huge payoff amount not to actually come back, which of course is the most likely outcome. Then again the Pirate may say <beep> Tech and actually take the job itself back, which he could do by operation of Court order.Comment

Re: Mike Leach fired
I'm not sure how it works at Tech, but when I played High School football, our trainer would never take "treatment" advice from a coach. in fact he would laugh in his face.
and I wish people would stop saying that Leach "punished" Adam only because he had an injury. even in the signed sworn affidavit, it states that Leach did not like Adam's appearance(not in team athletic gear like every other injured player) and his attitude.

If that's the case, then banish him from the team until he can exhibit the right attitude. Either that or kick him off the team, especially if he was as lazy as they say he was.

If he has the chance, he should go back, do his best, and then take all negotiations public. If he has some great seasons, the fans would make sure that he stayed.

Re: Mike Leach fired
All of this could have been avoided if Leach just went ahead and dismissed the kid if he was as lazy as he claims. Why keep the dead weight around?
The truth is always somewhere in the middle in these sorta cases. Looks like plenty of blame to go around.Comment
