All of this could have been avoided if Leach just went ahead and dismissed the kid if he was as lazy as he claims. Why keep the dead weight around?

The truth is always somewhere in the middle in these sorta cases. Looks like plenty of blame to go around.

I agree 100%. The bottom line is that regardless of how badly Adam and/or his dad acted, it hasn't been documented and Leach broke the code of conduct even by his own account. He could have apologized (and I can understand why he wouldn't from his POV) but he didn't and there is enough there to fire him.
Before people call me a James sympathizer, I too, would rather be punished with a "time out" than to have to do a strenuous exercise, but the two had a problem with each other and Leach left the door cracked enough for Adam to call him on it.
I can't say I would've been in Adam's position to begin with, but if I was I probably wouldn't have complained about it, although he obviously disliked his coach.

I played football and have had enough (2 minor/1 major) concussions or as the sometimes overly dramatic would say "brain injuries". All concussions are not created equal. Just because yours appeared to be serious and traumatic doesn't mean every one is the same.

MKoz is 100% right it was not a shed or an electrical closet. It was a football garage and the visiting team's press room.

As for how torturous it must have been, there were trainer/staff statements mixed in this thread that discount James' assertions. They state he was sitting, walking around, sleeping, and eating ice out of the machine.

He was not chained to a wall in a medieval dungeon or handcuffed to a furnace in a musty electrical closet.

Leach should have been smarter how he handled a malcontent like James w/ what trainers diagnosed as a minor concussion.

But the drama queens need to give it up. It's not like the kid was tortured or water boarded.

I was listening to sports talk all day Monday around the Bloominton, IN area.
Anyway there was talk that IU might contact Leach, thoughts???
Kind of funny if they went after him after firing Knight years ago for being mean to his players.

How is that different then Mitch Mustain and his parents at Arkansas? Except Houston Nutt said your free to get your kid and go elseware. That's how you handle it.

They're completely different situations.

The Springdale High School players and coach were basically benched by Houston Nutt after going 8-0. Nutt took over playcalling from Malzahn, benched Mustain, and by extension basically benched the WR and TE for what appears to be the reason that he wasn't getting enough credit for winning after he basically used Marlzahn, Mustain, and Williams to save his job. All three were gone the next year.

Adam James was some random walk on who used his daddy's ESPN job to get his coach fired.
