If Moss played for FSU in 1996, 1997, and 1998 I honestly believe the Noles don't lose a single game in that stretch. It wouldn't have just been Moss to worry about as much as having to defend Moss and Peter Warrick.

Yeah, if Moss was able to stay at FSU, I would only see one or two losses in his whole tenure.Lions, Tigers, Pistons, Michigan

In 1996 and 1997 when he was at Marshall, FSU only lost two games. Add Randy Moss to those teams and that number becomes 0.
In 1998, all things being equal with Chris Weinke's injury, they may still lose the N.C. State game but likely beat Tennessee, who couldn't have just focused on Peter Warrick the entire game. But that presumes Moss doesn't go pro after his RS-Sophomore year.Comment

Just got thinking, what if Rhett Bomar doesn't "work" at that car dealership and doesn't get kicked off the OU team, wonder what that would have done for some Heisman winning QB named Sam Bradford.
If Adrian Peterson didn't get the freak injuries he suffered in college.
If Michael Vick would have stayed for another year at Virginia Tech.7 National Championships

1) Rhett Bomar would have continued to fail to live up to expectations and OU is less successful.Just got thinking, what if Rhett Bomar doesn't "work" at that car dealership and doesn't get kicked off the OU team, wonder what that would have done for some Heisman winning QB named Sam Bradford.

Homer Pick:
If Vince Young... then Jamaal Charles came back for their Senior year?
Texas would have ran the table again and won the NC VY's Senior year. If Jamaal Charles stayed for his Senior year Texas would have had a better chance of beating Tech and making an NC appearance. Then of course Colt and Shipley last season... Texas could have had 4-5 NC appearances this decade if 2 players didnt leave early.
VY would have won Heisman, I think Colt would not have been a Heisman candidate if Charles would have stayed.Texas Longhorns

If Rutgers didn't hire Terry Shea to appease Bill Walsh.
We never would've been as bad as we were, Shea had no connections to NJ highschools and did as much as possible to alienate every HS Coach in NJ. The man couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag, and was so inept never offered scholarships to players who would turn into stars in the NFL (Brackett and O'Hara).Comment

Re: How would the history of CFB have changed if..........?
I don't think Paul Bryant would have been the winning-est coach of all time. A&M refused to integrate and absolutely refused to allow Bryant to integrate their program. Bryant would have had above average teams year in and year out, but never achieved the success he did at Alabama.
The SEC would probably not be the dominant football conference it is today. If you live in a SEC market you understand that Saturdays in the fall are only behind God and Family. Had Alabama not turned into the National Power that Bryant made them, it would have taken significantly longer, if ever, for the conference to gain the pride and tradition that is now associated with it. Whether you like Alabama or hate them, there is no denying everything they did to legitimize the SEC.

The major difference would be that Florida would not be the national power that it is today. Other then that it would be very much the same. Let us not forget that Florida plays Florida State every year and Florida State plays Miami every year. Bobby Bowden's win total would have been unaffected as would Florida St. legacy simply because these teams did play during this time. That being said, Spurrier would still have his National Title, and a few SEC titles, but their inability to beat Florida St. in the 90s would have prevented Spurrier from building the Gators into a 5 Star program.
I also wonder which team would have been added to the SEC WEST. I would have to think Vandy as it is the only school geographically that makes sense.
I also think the ACC would have fallen off the planet by now and certainly would not be a BCS conference.Golf: Bubba

Re: How would the history of CFB have changed if..........?
Bob Stoops does not have as much success as he does at Oklahoma because of the lack of program tradition and close talent that he benefits from being at Oklahoma. He may or may not still have the head coaching job there.
Ron Zook probably doesn't get fired at Florida so soon because of his inability to beat Iowa (or anybody else for that matter) therefore missing out on the Urban Meyer sweepstakes.
Kirk Ferentz probably stays in the NFL as a coordinator until UCONN becomes a Division I program and is hired by UCONN to build that team (his alma mater) instead of Randy Edsal.
The Oklahoma part was tough and took a lot of research. Jim Donnan, Tommy Bowden, Mike Bellotti and Gary Barnett were the other candidates at the time Stoops was hired. Of that list Gary Barnett was the only guy with enough talent to lead OU to a decent season, but either way they probably do not become what they are with any of those coaches, but who knows. Had they gone with Barnett they would have had a chance, but who knows how long before his personal issues saw him run out of Norman as well.Golf: Bubba
