He's going to Bama.
He liked how aggressive Saban & Co were in recruiting him, and wasn't much for the OSU staff's soft sell, among other things.Ohio State Buckeyes | Carolina Panthers | Charlotte Hornets | Cincinnati RedsComment

Re: 2011 Recruiting Thread
Former 4* WR from Tallahassee, Melvin Ray has quit professional baseball. He's trying to work things out to come to Alabama. If this works out, he'll have 5 years to play 4 and would basically be a 2011 recruit.
I'm stoked. He was one of my favorite recruits from the monumental '08 class. Back then, he had offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Tennessee, Clemson, etc.PS: You guys are great.

Re: 2011 Recruiting Thread
His recruitment was a cluster**** at FSU and really showed the internal cancer killing the program. Jimbo Fisher liked him a lot but had Jarmon Fortson higher on his wish list (Bama fans should be real, real happy Fisher pried him from Auburn) and saw him as a fall back recruit. I'd have loved to see him go to FSU but ultimately MLB was too much of a risk to make him a top priority recruit with Fortson. SEC fans should be glad that in all likelihood Bama will never line up Julio Jones (FSU's main target that year) and Ray together, their size would make that perhaps the scariest WR duo in America.Comment

Re: 2011 Recruiting Thread
Dee Hart has AU in his top group again. Apparently he received "misinformation" from a sports writer that Auburn already has another RB committed, etc.
Got to love recruiting.
In other news,4 star DB Jonathan Rose is announcing his decision next week. It would be a shocker if it were anywhere but Auburn.
With Rose on board, if we can snag Marcus Roberson (#5 DB in nation) and Erique Florence (#2 Safety)...both of whom have AU has their leaders..that would be one hell of a DB class.AUBURN TIGERS

Glen Stanley, USC, FSU: Glen Stanley finally gets release from USC, will visit FSU on Thursday - OrlandoSentinel.com
Early word is the visit went great and he is FSU bound, if something happens with FSU's admissions (if his Juco is like El Camino in Cali) then USF is the backup plan. With Nigel Carr's likely suspension he could starting from day one as a DE/OLB hybrid.Comment

Originally posted by Mike Farrell of RivalsOrlando Dr. Phillips running back Demetrius Hart is down to Alabama and Michigan, and a lot depends on how hard the Tide pushes. Teammate Hasean Clinton-Dix is a Tide commitment and has been working him hard, and they were inseparable at Gridiron Kings. But Michigan has been in the lead for some time now and clearly is recruiting Hart the hardest. Hart was supposed to commit to Michigan a few months ago but didn't pull the trigger, so his interest in Alabama is evident. The big question is would the Tide take him if he wanted to commit. Hart is not a great fit at running back in Alabama's offense and would be used more as a utility back; he appears to be a perfect fit for Rich Rodriguez's spread offense.
I seriously doubt he got misinformation about a commitment.Twitter

Re: 2011 Recruiting Thread
Irish land 4*(Rivals)all-purpose back out of Michigan, Justice Hayes!
Most Impressive: Very, very quick back with good speed and ball skills. Hayes is very versatile and could play defensive back, wide receiver or running back at the next level. He is a high-character kid that possesses serious leadership skills.
Conclusion: This kid will work hard and learn the playbook before most other incoming freshmen in his class. He has the ability to be a punt returner and a gunner on all kicks. He adds instant speed and will be hard to keep off the field.
Nice pick up for BK............

James Wilder has announced he's done taking visits, thus canceling a visit to Georgia. It is basically down to FSU and Florida right now and more I keep hearing he's trending towards FSU's quasi-Pro Style offense over Florida's Spread.Comment

Hart, AU on same page
A month ago, Orlando (Fla.) Dr. Phillips four-star running back Dee Hart named Auburn and Michigan his top two, followed by Alabama. Recently though, Hart came back out and said that Michigan and Alabama were now his top two, and Auburn had fallen behind. The reasoning behind Hart's decision to move Auburn down was that he was told by a writer that Auburn already had a running back or two committed. Obviously that isn't the case as Auburn has zero running backs committed.
Since then, Hart has been in contact with the Auburn coaching staff and the two seem to be back on the same page, as Hart was given the right information after previously being given the incorrect information.AUBURN TIGERS
