He is a huge target. To be honest, I have visions of UF defensive backs struggling to keep this dude out of the endzone. Then again, Greg Carr didn't do squat against Florida.

QB Gary Nova made it official and gave his verbal to Rutgers after leaving the Pittsburgh fiasco. I'll gladly take him after Savage decided competition was too much for him.Comment

Re: 2011 Recruiting Thread
All purpose back Jerrell Moore has de-committed from Louisville and will most like commit to Illinois later in the week.
4* LB Brandon Gholson will enroll in school at some point this week. They are awaiting the clearinghouse to do what they need to do. This will put him here for spring ball which is great.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: 2011 Recruiting Thread
I got to say that this recruiting makes no sense to me, because if the chips fall the way they are looking, Rutgers will easily put together a Top 20, if not 15 class after a 4-8 season, and after our best season we were lucky to break the Top 50.
If Rutgers can nab Huggins, Matias, and Royster that would give us 5 of the top 7 in the state of NJ.Comment

Re: 2011 Recruiting Thread
As a fan of Bama and FSU it is quiet obvious how good those two classes are and going to end up being, but I would like to make a comment on Louisville. Charlie Strong is doing a wonderful job there. He swept in when Shannon was fired at Miami and has stole many hidden gems that the bigger schools were overlooking. I am in no way an expert on Louisville football or even a fan of it, but when I see a coach doing great things with a program such as rebuilding it, I think it is necessary to give major props. If i was a Louisville fan I would be jumping up and down about this recruiting class and the fact that they play in the Big East with its usual suspects in jeopardy of falling and West Virginia always being solid but not being able to break through since Rodriguez left.Comment

Re: 2011 Recruiting Thread
Most definitely Louisville fans are excited! Besides maybe the Orange Bowl season, I can't think of another time in Louisville football that excitement and morale have been this high.
The way he and his staff have motivated this team, how they've begun to instill a winning attitude and how they've gotten out and recruited I can do nothing but tip my cap to them. Coming from where the program had gotten so beaten down under Steve Kragthorpe makes the job Coach Strong did in his first season even more memorable. Some of the prospects that are (at the moment) committed, I would not have imagined in recent history that players of that caliber would have be coming to Louisville...to play football.
I think it was CountryBoy that posted Louisville's recruiting class was ranked #18 last time he checked. If I'm not mistaken, this could possibly be the first time Louisville has had a recruiting class even ranked in the top 25. As you mentioned Landon, I think it's just a testament to the job that Coach Strong and his staff are doing to turn this thing around.A negative mind will never give you a positive life.

Re: 2011 Recruiting Thread
As of today, Louisville is number 23 on Rivals. I really believe that Teddy Bridgewater and Eli Rogers are going to be special. Also Jacquese Kirk is a 3 star from Jasper, Alabama. He is actually from the rival school of the school I attended for high school. He is undersized at 5"11 160 will definitely need some size on his frame but he is solid and very fast. I know he was not far from being a 4 star guy. While to some people #23 may not sound solid, they are currently the only big east school in the top 25.Comment
