Re: 2011 Recruiting Thread
John F. Kennedy HS (Cleveland, OH) OL Chris Carter committs to the Buckeyes. Not that great of an offer list but he's more of a project, he's 6-4 in the 335-340 range now, he had to get his academics in order but it appears that's been taken care of. He came on a visit to campus today, got his offer, and made it official as soon as he got home.Ohio State Buckeyes | Carolina Panthers | Charlotte Hornets | Cincinnati RedsComment

"I wanted to go ahead and get my commitment out of the way. I wanted to be able to focus on my senior season and winning a state championship. I have always liked Alabama. I have family down there and a few former teammates on the team."

Re: 2011 Recruiting Thread
Little late with this, but UT picks up their first recruit on March 20th. Kid hasnt been rated by Scout or Rivals yet, but his recruiter was Lance Thompson who knows a thing or two about LB's.

Re: 2011 Recruiting Thread
Getting a kid from New England is always a gamble (yes I was wrong with Aaron Hernandez) because at the end of the day they are seeing no where near the competition they need to see to be ready to play at the BCS level. It shocks me a kid from Massachusetts would be rated that highly, but looking at his offer sheet Miami is easily the best offer.Comment

Re: 2011 Recruiting Thread
I get that. I am just saying it is hard to project kids from New England (especially the public HS kids) to the BCS level. You have kids who are absolute manimals in New England because they are a big fish in a small pond. There are of course great players who go unnoticed because they are from New England (ex. former UNH WR David Ball). Then there are players like Diamond Ferri from Everett, MA, he was a stud RB in HS (4-5*) who never did much at Syracuse.Comment

Re: 2011 Recruiting Thread
Florida State picked up commitment number eleven and it was yet another big one in OLB/DE Terrance Smith from Decatur, GA. He will likely be a Top 100 player and could possibly be the best defensive player in Georgia this year. He had reported offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Ohio State, Tennessee, and various others.

Hopefully Fisher can get FSU back to the point where all of the top talent from Georgia sees FSU as the first choice over the instate schools.Comment
