Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
The Gulf of Mexico is part of the Atlantic Ocean. Now can we move on from geography class?
And WVU was probably rejected because they are in the Big East. TAMU was rejected as well, or has everyone forgotten that as well? If WVU severs ties from the Big East, then they can join just like TAMU did after they said they were leaving the Big 12. SEC wants no part of what Baptist Bears and Whirlwinds of Iowa part 2, although I doubt it happens with Big East schools.Comment

In that case, the Pacific Ocean is part of the Atlantic Ocean too.

Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
LOLOLOLOLOL!
Wvu is going to be in a crappy version of the Big East, that may no longer have a BCS bid, OR if the big east completely falls apart, C-USA.
Talk about a football conference!
Baylor
TCU
WVU
Rutgers
Cincy
Louisville
Kansas
Kstate
Iowa State
That is going to be bad, lol....and there is a chance that at least one or two of those teams will be poached off.Comment

Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
Well lets say the ACC gets 16 schools, with UCONN and Rutgers being the other two schools. And the SEC gets to 14 schools, with TAMU and probably Missouri. Then the PAC 12 gets 4 more schools with Oklahoma, Texas, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma State, pushing them to 16 teams. Then you have the Big East being absorbed by the Big 12 making it a 9 team conference but Boise St decides to jump to that division because of the competition and maybe BYU decides to not be independent anymore because of the season they are having so far. That would put them at 11 teams and maybe they add another one from either CUSA, the WAC, or the MWC to give them 12. That would give ACC 16 schools, Pac 12 16 schools, Big Ten 12 schools, SEC 14 schools, Big East/Big Twelve 12 schools bringing the total to 70 schools in just 5 conferences. This whole thing being hypothetical, do you think those 5 conferences would break away from the NCAA and create their own governing body to oversee them. I mean there has been talks about that with the recent onslaught of expansions. Just all this being hypothetical, what are yalls thoughts?Comment

Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
No it's not. The current conferences have to keep their bids the same way the MWC is trying to earn it. If the Big 12 and Big East lose all their top teams, there is no way in hell they qualify any more. May only be 4 BCS bids and 6 at larges the way it is going. If the remains merge, they might have a chance, but I doubt they even have enough ranked teams to meet the qualifications. Hell, the Big East has been lucky to have their champion ranked as of late it seems.Comment

Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
What a ****ing travesty this is turning into. I am still not ready to give up hope, especially if the SEC expands to 16 teams, but Good Lord.
Supposedly, Missouri has an offer on the table now.
WVU may be heading to the Left Behind Conference.Comment

Of course, I have yet to see any hard evidence that WVU was actually rejected (or even sent in a freaking application in the first place), so we shall see. Not good publicity, regardless.Comment
