Texas A&M to the SEC will happen; what about Oklahoma?

How much say in the SEC conference does UGA and USC have? Wouldnt they block GT and Clemson? Perhaps FSU to replace one of the two. I could see GT going but not Clemson.Comment

Re: A&M to the SEC starting to blow up again on Twitter
I remember hearing last time all of this was going on that UF would do everything they can to keep the other Florida schools out of the SEC. I guess to keep their recruiting advantage over them. I don't know how much pull they have thoughComment

Re: A&M to the SEC starting to blow up again on Twitter
UF also doesn't have a recruiting advantage in Florida, it was just that FSU was suffering because Bobby stopped recruiting like he had done in the past and FSU stopped getting top talent. FSU has now fixed the problem and is getting the rewards. The SEC vs ACC may enter some recruits' minds, but usually it is about going to the better team.
UF doesn't want FSU in conference because it would create a potential loss on the schedule in conference. UF wants to only add lower teams so not to hurt their chances of winning the conference. Then they also don't want to lose the ability to say FSU doesn't play in the best conference like we do.Comment

This guy a Northwestern guy who lives in Bama, hit all the Nebraska to Big 10 scenarios before.
Interesting read and fodder no doubt.

Re: A&M to the SEC starting to blow up again on Twitter
UF doesn't really have much direct power, but they could try to sway some of the other schools to also not vote for FSU by saying they will support another team that the other school wants in, etc.

The way it seems to me is that at this point, A&M is simply waiting for an SEC invite. Even the comments by the A&M official several posts back where he's denying a deal is done suggests to me that it is what A&M wants. It's just a matter of the SEC deciding they want it.
As far as teams bolting to the Big 10, particularly Missouri and Kansas, not gonna happen. There are only two schools the Big 10 wants, and they aren't going to bring anyone in unless it helps them get Texas or Notre Dame.

Re: A&M to the SEC starting to blow up again on Twitter
NCAA ruled today that no HS games can air on the Longhorn Network. This will hopefully cool some of the jets. Still not convinced A&M is doing anything other than flailing about in an anti-UT rage. Unfortunately they may just do something stupid before they come to their senses.Comment

Re: A&M to the SEC starting to blow up again on Twitter
Real smart move for the Ags.
Additionally, it is apparent that no one really understands the power of Texas in the Big XII. They thought they had a lot, we thought they had a lot, but in the end it's really not the case. I was all ready to be ticked off at UT this year... turns out A&M is being the true pains in our collective ***. The Longhorn Network is actually flailing and on the verge of failing. There's a decent chance that it may be made into a Big 12 Network when TV rights come up in a few years. That would be a boon for the Big XII team's coffers.
Anyway, the more I read about this story, the more I actually believe that they will go. Big deal. As we have seen, the rest of the Big XII is more committed than we thought. This will add an extra 10% to everyone's revenue for the next few years, make an easier path to bowl eligibility for teams like ISU with an extra non-con game, and get rid of these whiners. When our new TV rights deal comes up in 2015, we can pick up a school like BYU and be no worse for the wear. See ya, TAMU!Comment
