sure RebelHog, everything is UT's fault, absolutely everything [/sarcasm]

I guess they should apologize for making more money than any program in the country. In the big 12, or whatever you want to call it, the more money you put in the conference coffers, the more you get back. If we were in Stalinist Russia, then perhaps Kansas St. would make the same amount as Texas. Having a non state sponsored network would not be allowed either, but then I guess we wouldnt have football anyway so nevermind.

      Dude, come on.

I know you're a Longhorn fan....but everyone who doesn't yell "Hook'em Horns!" knows that the current situation is ridiculously tilted in UT's favor.

Sure it is. It's because they make more money than every other program in the country and they are trying to make more. This is America for cripes sake lol. What do you want them to do?

btw, the revenue in the big 12 is not spread equally among all teams (it's not the USSR), but there IS revenue sharing. The more money Texas makes, the more money the conference and it's members make. If another conference member wants to be ambitious enough to try and start it's own network, then they can.

Wow, that sounded eerily similar to a certain Erod/Freelance post.

I'm not old enough to remember, the screw jobs my Grandpa and Dad talk about from SWC officials, that were mainly from Texas and mostly Longhorn supporters. Texas is a disease to any conference they touch. I can safely, say the Longhorns are like the nW0 (of the late 90s), star power, doesn't want to let go of creative control, or the money and will eventually lead to the demise of the company (WCW/Big 12).

In fairness, the Horns have become so used to such treatment over the last 135 years (do a search for "Permanent University Fund") that they tend to consider it their birthright.

I would eat a shoe (out of joy) if NCSU could get an invite to the SEC. But A&M and FSU/Klemson would be a solid get.

Texas legislature (Higher Ed committee) has called a special meeting re: A&M apparently.

ya im sure it was those UT zebras lol. The SWC destruction was all the fault of UT also. It had nothing to do with the rampant cheating and scandal in Dallas, College Station, etc.

Anyway, im old enough to vaguely remember some of the Texas/Arky rivalry when they played every year and it was a good one. Judging posts like yours, the rivalry still exists. They need to start playing each other more and keep that rivalry alive. Its a shame that Arky pulled out of their game with Texas a couple of years ago so they could play Aggy instead because it really is a good rivalry. I cant blame the Hogs though after being destroyed 52-17 by Texas the previous year (that game was probably only the bevo zebras though too)

That incident was the final straw, but the Horns contempt for UH goes back much farther than that.

The fact that during the 1970's Houston went to 3 Cotton Bowls in their first four years as a full member of the SWC didn't sit well in Austin, nor did a three year streak of beatdowns during the Jack Pardee R&S era in the late 80's that saw the Coogs outscore UT 173-64; the 66-15 win in Austin in 1988 remains the worst home loss in UT history.
