Re: A&M to the SEC starting to blow up again on Twitter
I'd probably buy it if there was actually an article. Right now all we have is a link to an aggie fan page with a vague head line that no one has a subscription to.Comment

Your definition of "vague" differs greatly from mine.
It's gonna happen. Maybe not today. Maybe not next month. But that conference is toast and everyone knows it.AUBURN TIGERS

Makes it vague. Rivals is all about misleading headlines anyways. I don't believe anything from Orangebloods, the Texas rivals site either.Comment

They will go from a program that can be counted on for a solid 8 or 9 wins a year to one that will fight for bowl eligibility.Comment

Re: A&M to the SEC starting to blow up again on Twitter
And the Big 12 is done. Like people have been saying, it may not be really official yet, but this is twice now A&M has seriously talked about this. It isn't long before they pull the trigger, because the only other schools that can are OU and Texas. Ok, sure A&M may not win a national title any time soon in the SEC... oh wait! They weren't in the Big 12 either. Too many positives in the SEC.
I wouldn't be surprised if OU moved as well. Have seen them mentioned less than FSU and Clemson this time around, yet I believe OU was one of the teams talked about going to the SEC last year. Not like OU and Texas haven't been in difference conferences before.Comment

This. I don't know how many fake-nostalgia I saw this past year with people saying the Hogs would go to the Big 12 and reunite with it's SWC buddies... no.

And Arkansas never gave a serious thought to leaving...it was just a misdirection by OrangeBloods to try to keep A&M and OU.Comment

It's AggieYell(the rivals site) versus the other 3 big a&m sites right now over this. Each of them have their sources saying it's a certain way.Comment

Re: A&M to the SEC starting to blow up again on Twitter
After A&M leaves the Big12 is gonna be like this:
I like ISU, hope they end up in B1G.
Kansas will get bum rushed bcuz of the B-Ball team by B1G, will end up there or with K-State in MWC. Would love to have them in SEC, but we don't want K-State.
K-State to MWC.
Baylor to MWC/PAC.
Texas Tech to MWC/PAC.
OU to SEC/PAC. Maybe Indy.
OSU to SEC/PAC/MWC.
Mizzou to B1G probably, maybe SEC.
Texas goes Indy.Comment

Re: A&M to the SEC starting to blow up again on Twitter
I've been talking to some friends from A&M, and many of them believe that this deal is going to go through whether it is tonight or next year. The reactions are split though with some saying that they are going to miss the divisional rivals and what was left from the SWC, and others saying that its time for Texas to reap what they sew and saying that they really want what the SEC is offering. Plus, it means that there will be new names in College Station and there will be exciting match-ups against some of the best competition in the nation.
I wouldn't be posting this if I didn't think it was going to happen. I really like the Big XII, but I think that you have to go with what you feel is right. As long as the Aggies are in the Big XII, they will always have to deal with the headache from Texas. Yeah, I'm going to miss the rivalry that the Aggies built up with Baylor and Oklahoma, but there will be new rivalries with Louisiana State, Mississippi, Tennessee and a continued rivalry with Arkansas. If they keep the same divisional structure, it could also mean a great permanent rivalry with Clemson or Florida State (I don't know too much about the politics with the eastern non-SEC schools). Hopefully the SEC will fix the schedules so that they don't have to play more than eight in conference games (adds some variety).
Looking back at all of this, I really feel bad for the rest of the Big XII especially in the former Northern Division. I think Oklahoma and Oklahoma State will be packaged together for a good fit, and perhaps Missouri and Kansas can find themselves in the Big East. The rest of the teams are going to have a tough time finding a new place to play. Geography doesn't matter anymore, so maybe these teams can find some good fits.
Boy, Texas played this conference like a fiddle. They pulled all of the power plays, got their own money press, and then told everybody to go bugger off. Now with their brother heading for greener pastures, they are basically cutting off everybody else that helped to make them a success. The problem is that Texas can go independent. I hope that they do; maybe they will find that burning bridges is a bad policy.Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks
