I have seen multiple places that Houston has 0 chance of getting into the Big XII even as a short-term replacement. Texas refuses it, UH has been blacklisted by UT since Bleachergate in '01

SEC should invite Baylor as well so they can have the Central Texas market.

SEC should invite Baylor as well so they can have the Central Texas market.

And corner the whole Southern Baptist TV market. The SEC should go all the way and get ND for the Catholic TV market BYU for all the Mormon TV market, lol. Heck, go ahead and get So. Methodist as well and have a Holy War Conference. Kidding of course.

In all seriousness, I like Baylor. In all honesty as an Arkansas fan I'd love A&M, another Texas team, ECU and UCF, but I know it won't happen. The last two aren't high profile enough, though both are on the rise and UCF is turning into the 80's Miami redux. I'd love to see TCU, but I know they are wrapped up in the Big East now.

I've been wondering why VT hasn't received more buzz in all of this. It's only a 3 hour drive from Knoxville and opens up the DC market....Virginia is IMO in that second pool of talent rich areas behind FL, CA, Ohio Valley and TX.

Not really. More like 4.5 hours away. Tuscaloosa is closer to Knoxville than Blacksburg.

And I tend to agree with this part + the fact that we played for 5 national titles total: "Florida State, who joined the conference in 1991, has been very successful within the ACC securing two national titles and 12 conference titles in less than 20 years. For that reason, and due to the fact that the ACC just signed a 12-year deal worth $1.86 billion with ESPN, might make a potential move to another conference a little more difficult."

Basically, why leave a conference you could soon start to dominate again.

And we've been down this courtship road with the SEC before. I'll believe it when I see it. If we go, great, full house every Saturday in Doak. But I doubt it happens. (Watch on Monday I'll be trying to remove my foot from my mouth...hahaha).

The real question is, will it end here? The Texas Tech AD says that the SEC is in talks with a ACC school, so lets assume that is true, where does the ACC turn? Does this turn of events spell doom for the Big 12?

This time around, The Big East might actually come out stronger due to the expected TV deal they will get from either ESPN or NBC. I figure if the SEC takes on ACC school, the ACC will look to the Big East (My gut says either WVU, Cuse, or LVille). The Big East might even be proactive and poach a couple of Big 12 teams to get to 12. For those laughing at the Big East talk, they are poised to make a huge deal with NBC, Dwarfing what they get now from ESPN.

This will def. get interesting...
