Conference realignment is ruining college football? Not sure that I agree, though my opinion is that it won't really get consequentially better until the BCS is discarded in favor of a playoff.Comment

-The Backyard Brawl: PITT / WVU = 103 meetings since 1895.
-The Red River Rivary: Texas / OU = 105 meetings since 1900
-Lone Star Showdown: Texas / A&M = 116 meetings since 1894
I don't know about you, but to me college football is all about pageantry tradition.NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers

Rivalries like The Backyard Brawl, The Red River Rivary and Lone Star Showdown ending would be a huge loss to college football.

Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
Yeah and with a 14 team conferences you're gonna be playing like 9 or 10 conference games a year, which leave only 2 non-conference games. 1 of those 2 are going to be a cupcake school in the beginning of the year.NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers
NHL: Pittsburgh Penguins
MLB: Pittsburgh Pirates
AFL: Pittsburgh Power
NCAA: PITT Panthers

Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
You won't see 10 conference games. 9 max. The WAC managed just fine with 8 conference games in a 16-team conference. Don't use EA's whacked out schedules as an indication of what will happen with larger conferences. And only the Big Ten would suffer since they have to reach their quota of 3 MAC opponents a year.Comment

You won't see 10 conference games, for one thing, because all of these big schools want home games against cupcakes to gain revenue.Comment

I hope the Big East dissolves because the higher ups are completely braindead, but damn I hope RU catches on in the ACC or B10.Comment
