I'm not going to judge him on what he did on account of none of us actually know. SBnation has some theories on where he'll play next. IF it was a third failed drug test, he'd have to transfer to NAIA to play this year. If not, he can play at a DI-AA or DII school this year, since he said he previously said he doesn't want to play two more years. Or he can try to surface at another FBS school if he's willing to spend two years of practice working on coverage skills with only one year worth of playing time.

I suppose he might go straight to the pros, but that's doubtful. I wonder if the NCAA would try to block him if he got a call from an NFL team.

In pure coverage skills it won't hurt LSU, from pure playmaking skills it'll hurt a lot as he was the guy who made plays when needed most it seems. Guess that'll be where the improved LB corp and stellar D-line will need to make more plays to allow the secondary to make more plays on the ball. Odell can handle punt returns well, just won't have the same type of skill.

Hopefully Mettenberger is the answer at QB so that the offense can respond when a big spark is needed

Was it really Les Miles decision to make? I read in a Yahoo Sports piece that it is school policy for players who fail a 3rd drug test to be removed from sports participation. A 2nd violation requires suspension.

have to agree , sadly this hurts LSU hardcore in the playmaking area. But you're right no one should be bigger than the team.

Fixed for you. If he was a good kid he wouldn't have been violating team rules multiple times until he got kicked off. He is a talented athlete, but I don't know why we are describing him as a good kid.

If u violate rules multiple times then u get whats coming to you plain and simple...amazing athlete, outstanding playmaker......he just doesnt know how to be a role model to the kids that had him as a background or screen saver. He probably is not surrounding himself around the right people.
