      sugar bowl or not, USC will be playing for a national championship, so they will be prepared and motivated. i'm glad it worked out this way because tradition is back in the rose bowl.

      historically, michigan has not been very successful in the rose bowl. in recent history, michigan has not fared well on the west coast. so to help the team, i will NOT be going to the rose bowl because obviously my presence at UCLA, UW, and UO caused the team to lose.

      in my initial assessment, it should be a high-scoring affair, but i'll hold off on a score for now. so if michigan beats usc, does michigan have any claim on the national championship? hey, why not, this is the year for controversy.

                        I wasn't comparing the '98 UCLA team to this USC team. I was replying to his statement that it was like a home game for the Trojans, when in fact a few years ago UCLA played in their HOME stadium and they were essentially the road team.

                              Historically it's that way. People from the midwest jump at the chance to leave their freezing towns to come to So. Cal, where it is usually in the 70's in January.
