The d will be fine. They are still learning the new schemes and you can tell they are thinking instead of reacting. Schedule is soft and don't have a team of substance for a few more weeks.

I don't see a great defense on the immediate schedule. The Canes maybe. I think he will continue to progress.

Hope the Noles can put it all together against Clemson in a few weeks. Otherwise, they'll probably be undefeated coming to Columbia in November.

About what I expected from Pitt last night, even if the opening TD toss was a glimmer of hope

I was happy to see Boyd make some big plays. He's a big standout as a true Freshman.

Last night I was expecting Jameis to look good and he still managed to blow away my expectations. I know it was Pitt and their D may not be the best, but wow, that kid is going to be special.

Pitt's defense was top 20 last yeat and they returned 9 starters. Sure it was against mainly Big East no offense teams, bu the that is still a good defense.

FSU played against a much tougher opponent then Jimbo likes to start out with and looked great doing it. That is what FSU used to do in the 90s.

Time will tell if this is a step forward ir just another one game performance.
