GG, 'Bama. A 10-point loss to the #2 ranked team in the country as 26-point underdogs is a moral victory in my book. It's a bit frustrating with some of the missed opportunities (several dropped passes on third down and a few untimely penalties), but it's okay. Got to win at Maryland in two weeks.

First time WVU has lost the season-opener since 2003 at Wisconsin, though most of those games were against FCS/1-AA and lower level conference teams (notable exception being @ Syracuse in 2005).

If they can build on this, it could be a nice bounce back season for WVU. They looked pretty impressive to me, but it's tough to judge. I don't really know how good Bama's defense is going to be this year.

Two snaps to hand the ball off doesn't seem like getting much work done but that's just my opinion.

I think the Bama offense will be fine. Great RBs. Great WRs. Great o-line. You have to think Simms will keep improving even though he played well today.


I just wonder what will happen when Bama plays a good offense. Their defense needs to fix a lot of things. They have the talent. Well see what kind of adjustments they make.

Bama always has great talent, so it's really just a matter of learning for their young secondary. And they are learning from some of the best because, who doesn't want to coach for Bama? So they'll be fine. Just need to be broken in.
