    Re: Week 4 Discussion

Last week actually turned out some pretty nice games. This week should be good IMO.

Kansas State is billing their Thurs. game against Auburn as the biggest in Program History with a top 5 team being hosted at the House that Snyder built.

I think Florida will look inspired against Alabama.

LSU vs Mississippi State may end up being the best game of the weekend.

UNC at ECU should be a fireworks display.

Miami at Nebraska could be entertaining.

The morning list is teeeeeerrrrrrriiiiibbbbblllleeee though.

BTW...I'm working in Dallas, Texas this week and I'm looking for a good sports bar to watch the Auburn game at on Thursday night, either in Dallas or in the McKinney, Texas area. Any locals who might read this know of a good one to go to?

I'm excited to take the new Death Valley through its paces for a full game and hear it at full volume for all 4 quarters. It got pretty loud early in the ULM game, but it was far from a sellout. Also it's the Gold Game, so it should be more electric than usual

Hmm…and what leads you to this conclusion? They have given me NO confidence at all that they know how to play inspired.

I disagree. I would say if anything... That's exactly what we seen vs uk. Last season, we lose that game and take the upset. When we were backed against the wall time and time again, we crawled out of it and made the play. Of course it was UK and everyone can freak out about it. But upsets happen. The difference is, this time we showed heart and willed our way to a W. Driskel looked like crap the entire first half, but he made some clutch plays. By no means does this excuse how bad they played... however I think there is some good that came out of it. I hope so anyways, or else Champ is gone before the season ends.

I'll be in Tuscaloosa for the game Saturday, and while I don't expect a win... I think they show a lot of heart and make Bama earn a close one. Of course I could be way wrong and the UK game is the norm for us this season, but I'm not going to overreact right now. 27-13 or so Alabama is my prediction. We aren't ready to make the big plays needed to knock off Bama, and they pull away late.

Obviously your free to feel that they played inspired, but I saw a lot of the same crap that we've seen for 4 years. The only difference was we got some lucky breaks, Demarcus Robinson went off, and they couldn't stop our running game. Against 'Bama I highly doubt we run like we did and Robinson will be blanketed…I hope like heck we can give them a game, but it's just too much to believe it will actually happen.

Knowing how the Gameday crew likes to go places they don't go often, this is probably week 1 of two straight that they hate the Thursday games for being on Thursday.

I'm also 90% sure that Lee Fitting is secretly hoping that Auburn or LSU lose in the next two weeks.

Oh I absolutely see where you're coming from. Inspired might be the wrong word. I guess what I mean is that they didn't roll over and die. Obviously we can't rely on DRob & Jones to go off like they did this week, but we do at least have a few weapons on offense that we haven't had in a while. I could fully see this team putting something together on saturday. OR completely getting embarrassed.

                          Re: Week 4 Discussion

The only way Florida stay in the game is if they can get in the head of Bama's QB with the Defense. First SEC Game for him as a starter, Florida's defense is good and Bama's got a good but not great offense like they have in years past. I still take Bama and I do think Florida has a shot, but I think their shot is equal to getting blown out as it is to win. That leaves all the rest the room in the middle for Bama to stroll out Saturday with a comfy W.

Let's put it this way, I think MSU has a better chance to beat LSU then I do Florida does to beat Bama, and that's just sad.

Miami-Nebraska. I don't know what to expect. Coming into the season I didn't have high hopes. Miami reassured that feeling against Louisville. The defense played okay, but they babied Kaaya too much. Then against Fla. A&M looked like a team still learning and trying different things out. Then against Ark St they actually looked like something had clicked. And I don't just mean they looked good and beat a worse team like they should.

Against Ark St the offense kept them guessing all game. It was one of, if not the best game Coley has called since he came to Miami. He was not predictable and Miami was able to show the difference in talent because of it by putting up 41 in the 3rd and pulling everyone. Also, D'Onorfio mixed up his defense and was actually making adjustments. That is definitely a 1st and it only took him until year 4, game 3 of his career at Miami.

Obviously Ark St is not the greatest team and Miami should have won that easily and they did. What I saw from the coaching staff is what excites me. Miami has good players every year. Their recruiting rankings show it. The fact that they have as many players going into the NFL as they get wins per year shows that. It has just been bad coaching and game managing that has kept them back a whole lot. I am not saying things have changed and Nebraska needs to watch out because this will be 2001 all over. What I am saying is that I saw both coordinators do things and make adjustments that they have not made since they came to Miami and that is what excites me.

I don't know what to expect this weekend. But I do believe that if what was shown last weekend is finally things clicking with the coaching staff, then this team is definitely capable of winning at Nebraska and making a run for the Coastal's spot in the ACC championship. I really hope that is the case obviously, but I can't really say I am definitely expecting that to be the case. I do have a new level of excitement that I haven't felt in a while with this program which is huge in itself.

                              tl;dr

If what was seen last weekend is real and this coaching staff just had something click and now they're 10x better, then I think Miami can win it.

If it was just luck and they go back to being their old ways of predictable offenses and a defense that is 8 yards off the ball every play, then it won't be close.
