There are plenty of other SEC schools pulling in amazing talent as well. If you look at it on per conference rating as well, the SEC as a whole is bringing in the most talent overall as well.

2013 - SEC brought in 37 of the top 100 players

2014 - SEC brought in 37 of the top 100 players

2015 - SEC brought in 70 of the top 100 players

2016 - SEC brought in 60 of the top 100 players

2017 - SEC brought in 24 of the top 100 players as of now.

All these players are not going to Bama, plenty of talent being spread across the entire conference in my opinion.

SEC brings talent no doubt but if you get right down to the actual numbers and not a broad ranking it's nothing close to Bama

Bama is #1 every single year while the others jump from top 5-10 at random

Since 2013- Bama has brought 19 - 5 Star players while the next closest has had 10 that being LSU

Not including 2017 in which they have yet another bunch of 5 stars coming in. Yeah the recruiting is close but when you get right down to it Bama is just on a different level when it comes to getting talent

The SEC doesnt have a lack of talent on the field. The disparity is in what passes for "coaching" today in the SEC. And I use that term loosely. Take the Gators for instance. McElwain has Florida in the SEC title game 2 years in a row but he still will never hold a candle to Urban Meyer or Spurrier. Sure he's a better coach than Muschamp and Ron Zook, but then again, so is my grandmother.

Quarterback talent, or the lack thereof, is a major problem for SEC teams, it seems. I don't get it. Maybe Eason, Shea Patterson, and Hurts will change this. Bentley looks good for a true freshman at USCe, too. Sean White seems decent when he's healthy, but him staying healthy seems to be an issue.

Speaking of Auburn, what the hell happened with Jeremy Johnson? From the highs of the Kentucky game a couple years ago to being benched last year for too many turnovers to being completely inept at throwing the football these last couple weeks. Really perplexing. His performance against Alabama was head-scratching.

This is exactly why the SEC has fallen off. 7-8 years ago the conference had Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, Mark Richt, a younger Les Miles, Bobby Petrino, and Steve Spurrier. The only one left is Nick Saban and the replacements for those others are clear step downs. The fact that guys like Muschamp, Kirby Smart, and Butch Jones are head coaches in the league says a lot. McElwain is still TBD, IMO. I don't expect he'll be Urban Meyer, but I do think he can succeed at Florida.

I also agree on the QB play...it is mind boggling to me that SEC teams (and my team specifically) cannot find a young man who can play QB. It's really unreal when you think that these teams generally can pick/choose who they want to come and play there. We haven't had a competent QB since Tebow left...and a lot of it has to do with coaching, IMO.

Didn't even notice the hash marks in front of the 15 yard line slanting way, way downward at first (are they rolling down a hill? lol), but unless they're playing on the side of a hill with a gradient of about 15 degrees, this photo is not valid at all. If anything, rotate the angle back to level the field and Barrett's exactly as short as Harbaugh said he was in the postgame presser.

More angry about the officiating in this game (and the back judge apparently being on record as an OSU fan) the day after somehow. The same guy who was banned from officiating the 2006 Game due to the conflict of interest protocol in place at that time served as the BJ in this one. Having an all-Ohio crew is apparently how you get called for 2 penalties for 6 yards as OSU.

The more I think about it, the more this year demonstrates that we need to move to a very straight set of guidelines:

The playoffs consists of the following -

                        - the power 5 conference winners.

                        - the top 3 records (with some sort of tie breaker for ties) from the other 5 conference champions/independents.

This gives you 8 teams and removes any "judgement" from the process. The very fact we still have to have a committee that is trying to determine 4 best teams based on a nebulous criteria is crazy.

If you've been reduced to looking up refs' hometowns as proof of some conspiracy against Michigan, you are delusional and need to move on. Was it the refs' fault that Curtis Samuel ran around their defense on 3rd and 9? Maybe it was their fault that Michigan stopped blocking in the 2nd half?

Michigan had 1 penalty called against it in 1999 vs Ohio State. Ohio State had 13 called on it in a game they lost by seven. No crying from John Cooper in the postgame.
