This gives you 8 teams and removes any "judgement" from the process. The very fact we still have to have a committee that is trying to determine 4 best teams based on a nebulous criteria is crazy.
Yeah, I think this might be worse than the BCS. Maybe they should've just used the BCS rankings to seed the teams.

EDIT: I am referring to the current system.

I agree. Might as well never have rankings. Just play the season then pick the four best teams.

The official that spotted the ball is from Grand Rapids, MI, and his Facebook cover photo is of a Michigan player running into the end zone... but I digress.

I'm confused...are you saying my proposal would be worse than the BCS or the current system is?

All the videos/pictures with the "yellow line" don't mean much to me...I want to see where it was spotted with regards to what we see in that picture and then where the chains had the 1st down, if that makes sense.

It's OT. Ball starts on 25. The 15 yard line is the line. Touching the 15 is a first, not touching it is not.

Get that...but I'm just saying where was it spotted. I honestly couldn't tell you if he gets to the 15 or not from those videos. It doesn't really matter...it's all water under the bridge at this point, but I haven't see a definitive view.

Michigan had 1 penalty called against it in 1999 vs Ohio State. Ohio State had 13 called on it in a game they lost by seven. No crying from John Cooper in the postgame.

Let me first say that I am not saying the B1G is involved in any sort of conspiracy. The conference isn't smart enough to pull something like that off even if they wanted to. They're making enough money to absolutely not care about "how many teams they get into the playoff."

Secondly, your 1999 game information (cute that you went and looked that up) has no bearing on this game at all. 100% red herring.

Finally, I haven't been "reduced" to anything; message boards did all the work for me in that regard. Nothing delusional about calling out conflicts of interest that an inept conference itself apparently doesn't care about. People should recuse themselves from situations in which they have a conflict of interest if only to avoid the appearance of impropriety.

It's not just a game either, it's a big money enterprise that affects a lot of people. Gross incompetence and/or influencing the outcome deliberately should never be tolerated.

Your team won the game by ill-gotten means. Get over it and move on! Water under the bridge.

If you can't ensure the refs are impartial and the game is played fairly, the results don't really mean anything.

Does that look like an impartial referee to you? This is the same one who was banned from the 2006 Game for conflict of interest FWIW
