    Week 5 Discussion

Moss grows fat on a rolling stone, but it's still pretty thin at this point of the season. There are some highlights in each shift, but nothing is overpacked or a real blockbuster.

GameDay will be in Blacksburg for the exit of the light.

LSU plays Troy this weekend at home, and the last time that happened things went nuclear. So I will be standing watch there this weekend. This thread is yours, use it to discuss Week 5 as you see fit.

    Re: Week 5 Discussion

With how slow Duke is and how Miami has never lost a game I was personally at, I think it's safe to chalk this up as a W.

      ^lol probably

USC almost gave me a heart attack against Texas. I didn't find the game against Cal much more inspiring. In both cases there were clear signs of domination from the beginning, but apprehensive playcalling kept the opponent in the game too long.

Darnold needs to make better decisions and Helton needs to be less predictable. Statistically Wazzu has outperformed us this season, and I know they're going to come out fired-up.

If we don't come out hyped and aggressive, we're going to lose. We can't spend three quarters every week getting our bearings.

The Stanford game gave me a lot of confidence that has not been rewarded the last two weeks.

Looking forward to see how well Floridas offense runs under Del Rio tomorrow. Not expecting miracles by any means but he can't be worse than Franks

Franks is a deer in headlights when his first read is covered. He also doesn't seem to read defenses or call protections well at all....

          Ivy League update

Dartmouth, down 13-10, just drove 80 yards to beat Penn 16-10, capped off by a quarterback keeper into the endzone as time expired.

We get it Mack Brown, Miami plays Florida State next weekend. And I thought Nascar commentators were annoying.

Not like that game is going to mean as much anyhow considering FSU is no longer in the playoff hunt.

USC may not have enough OL to finish this game.

Wow. What a play be the defensive lineman from USC. That may have been the best defensive play I've seen all year.

That easily could have been Darnold's ninth pick of the season.

Should've been a defensive hold call.

I like Ronald Jones. He is one of those players that looks like he is playing at a different speed than everyone else. He always seems to be making plays when I watch USC.

Sam Darnold on the other hand has looked out of sync every time I've seen him this year. Big time arm but has been inconsistent in the few games I've seen.

Playing with lots of inexperience at the WR positions and they've had a ton of injuries on the oline.

Having Burnett hurt and Steven Mitchell out at WR is really making a difference as is having to play 2 true freshman at the tackle spots

All that said as I said before the year started they were ranked way too high in the pre-season. Their losses to the NFL were vastly underrated by the pundits.

That was a horrible call on the targeting.

I didn't know they could wipe away the penalty yardage after a review...when did that become a rule?
