That's beside the point. I can only judge on what I see now. EA has disappointed before. While I like the direction I won't get overly excited just yet.

Well, this argument was started because my opinion was questioned so don't point your finger at just me.

This is all I'm trying to say. Wait till you see actual videos until you get pumped up for the game.

How's it beside the point? The vids are showing off a certain aspect of the game, nothing more. This vid was about pursuit angles, not the running mechanics, the OL/DL interaction, or anything else.

I'm not overly excited either, but I like what I see in terms of what they are showing me here. I'll reserve judgment on other facets of the game when they actually show them off.

so constantly telling people to not get excited or that they are "easily satisfied" or they are "falling into the same trap" is all because someone questioned your opinion?

Here's my only thing. Most of the NCAA hardcore were actually enjoying 09 post-patches. Sure there are issues that remained, but it's already evident that they've added a lot of new tech to make the game even better. Why are there still guys who are just cranky about the NCAA and the Madden teams? It's a no-brainer that these games will progress the series. Why the hate and same old tired accusations? The whole NCAA/Madden exclusive stuff is waaay past played out. Sorry, my .02....

Is it possible that is is NCAA 09 with just this on fix? It looks A LOT like 09 I think.

If it wasn't written on the video itself everyone would have said those were 09 videos. AI logic is fixed but running animations are still poor like last year, very unrealistc IMO. Hope I'm wrong.....

Edit: I read this on the blog itself

Both vids are 09 player models people and looks to be engine also. He implemented the algorithyms or whatnot into 09 to demo.
if that is true, I'm relieved

lol geez oscar you're a grouch. lol at guys telling other peeps not to get excited. The funny thing is most of these guys aren't hardcore like they claim. I gaurantee these type guys only played 09 for a month or 2 then put it on the shelf. Guys who really don't know the ends and outs of Ncaa 09. I still have plenty of fun with Ncaa 09(Is the only gm I play. oh yeah and socom) I have over 500 gms online and still play them 2 day. The only reason it isn't more is because Online Dynasty is soo fun. flaws and all. These upgrades are awesome, they would seem better but madden blogs have been stealing thunder this year. These arguments are starting to get ********. It's like arguing about Ice cream. ex. I love cookie dough ice cream. I open my freezer and quickly become excited because I see cookie dough Ice cream w/ added chocolate. And my roomate gets mad at me being happy because its not his favorite cookies n cream. =(. moral of the story stfu and don't tell others what to get excited about.

I hope it's just 09 with some pursuit angles fixed. Otherwise it looks exactly the same. But still, post-patches 09 was still ok to play. So anything is improvement over 09, which is great by me.

OMT could you please clarify if this is NCAA 10 or NCAA 09 with updated pursuit angles? The pursuit angles are much better but everything else looks strikingly similar to NCAA 09

I don't really know what to think. I mean it is obviously better than 09, but it looks wierd. Maybe it is just the replay camera, I would like to see it from a stationary zoomed out view... In the first '10 video it almost looks like they aren't taking an aggresive enough angle. I don't think that in real life you usually see the tackler that far out infront of the runner so they have to actually turn around (and head back in the direction of the original LOS) on a run that long. The RB usually gets brought down from behind or from the side at the very least, not straight on.

Also, there is something wierd with what I believe is the playside OLB in that replay? He starts the play off the screen on the right side and runs to the middle of the field. The play is a straight sweep the whole time, there is really no way that a LB should react like that unless they totally totally totally mess up. The playside OLB on a straight obvious sweep should have outside contain, not completely vacate the area and run to the middle of the field for presumably covering a zone. If that is the OLB he should have stopped that in the backfield, or at least tried.

Like I said its better than 09, but I hope they arent swinging too far in the other direction with the pursuit. FB games aren't fun when you can't break off big runs either, especially a college game. I think it was nfl 2k3 (maybe 2k4) where breaking a long run for a TD was like impossible and that was frustrating too.

The main problem really isn't the bad angles the CPU makes. It is that the RB can make a 90 degree cut full speed in under a second.
