Yeah but will it be reversed again like years passed when editing players. Like 09 when Beenie Wells was with Ohio State, editing him made his arms scrawny and no matter how you tweaked it, it showed up skinny in game play. The University of Miami

Also, from what I've seen so far, the default play the game chooses is generally pretty good. Haven't had too many (if any) cases of "no way that play sucks." I'm generally cool with what the game brings up.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
I have played 3 games, all on All American. I'm liking it so far. 1st game I was whatever the 1st game is, I believe Miami-Ohio State. I was Ohio State and I returned the opening kickoff for a 80 YD TD. I lost 21-17 though, I threw 4 picks.
2nd game I was Miami and I won 10-7.
3rd game I was Texas vs OU. A 34-28 3OT thriller!Comment

I liked NCAA10, and I'm loving this demo. It really feels completely different.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
The more I play the game, the more it feels like ice-skating, especially in the passing game. Any time I scramble, I feel like I am on skates and the WRs look like their skating too when watching them run routes.
Kickoffs seem to have this same affect too.
Hope this has been cleaned up for retail.
Overall, good sim but something just feels weird about it.Click here to read my dynasty report:

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
I believe EA Sports release the demo each year with the main objectives of
a) Enamoring everyone with new graphics/'glamor' features'
b) Using us gamers as guinea pigs to let them know what still needs to be tweaked before final release
Perhaps this is why this demo seems to be 90% offensively based....because that's what initially seems to excite people the most. Everything I've seen and heard was about offense. The user defense on this demo is sorely lacking (tackling, pass defense, swimming/escaping blocks in the trenches).
*However, I must note that this game DOES NOT seem 'Cheeser-friendly'
Having said that, my likes/dislikes are as follows:
Likes/Dislikes:
- MUCH better graphics and lighting/Still a very poor broadcast (I miss Corso too)
- Fans/Stadium/Player entrances are NICE!/Fans in the stands cheering have on the wrong team colors (ex. When playing Mizzou vs. Clemson, the Clemson fans have on Clemson Nike Pro Combat Jerseys in Ohio State colorways...same thing on the other matchups)
- Better blocking on both runs and passes/Too hard to get pressure with front 4
- Locomotion is cool/Too hard to wrap up and tackle on defense
- WRs (with good Acc rating) get off the line quicker on routes/DB a.i. is still unrealistic (they jump too many routes and still run in perfect synch with WRs, step for step and stride for stride
- Acceleration aspect is great/Player movement is still unrealistic (looks and feels like I'm gliding on ice)
- QBs can no longer shift directions without losing speed when scrambling/when escaping pressure or scrambling, QB all of a sudden loses speed as soon as he crosses the line of scrimmage (wth?)
- Less face mask penalties on attempted strips/TOO MANY FUMBLES!
- Better animations on WR/DB play/Still poor user catch ability and not enough pass interference calls
- Referees visible in the game/Coaches/team sidelines are not
- No huddle more realistic for both O and D/Players don't look to sideline for calls from coaches
- Uniforms and accessories are great/Still not enough variation on players faces (same faces as last year...10-20 guys on one team have the same exact face...saw this in the Dynasty update blogs on EA Sports website) and where are the dreadlocks/long hair???
By the way...THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA SUCKS for not allowing EA to include the white helmets with their Nike Pro Combat uniforms. No other school had complaints. What makes Florida so much better??? How arrogant.
Anyway, I hope EA can tweak at least some of the above listed concerns by July 13th. But all in all, I'm still pleased in comparison to NCAA10. Remember that last year's demo was much different from the actual release. Therefore, I'm hopeful EA will get it right.Last edited by IGGYBOY34; 06-15-2010, 08:29 PM.Comment

Yeah Deegeezy, I totally agree. I noticed it a lot in the kick return game, and also when attempting the user catch. When I tried to take control of the WR and bring him back to the ball, he kept gliding out of bounds!Comment

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
There's a way to trick the engine by using the body types of other positions.
That's how i was able to slow down the NCAA 10 game speed by increasing the size of the players at RB, WR and DB. You see EA seems to factor in speed with their player module types for some reason.....
It's kinda weird but lets say you have a 220 lb RB......at default last year he moved really fast because EA made him loook skinny even though he weighed 220 in the game.
Well that same RB even with 94 speed if you gave him a DL or OL build in the game his running speed seemed to slow down even though he was at 94 speed rating for the game.
They (EA) do all kinds of weird stuff with their sports engines.....just like in their basketball games if you lower the players verticals and agility ratings in NBA Live or NCAA Basketball then you stop the game from having sliding issues on the floor.NCAA FOOTBALL 14 ALUMNI LEGENDS CPU vs CPU DYNASTY THREAD

You're confusing gliding with momentum. You can't stop on a dime unless you have great agility.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
Cool football strategy moment:
I saw the defense in a cover 1/0 on 3rd and medium. I audible to a quick pass. The quick pass is a bubble screen. The idea here of the bubble screen is to play a numbers game and isolate a playmaker. Well, I get the ball out against 2 defenders and 1 blocker. The defender makes a cut inside at the ball, I run outside for a big gain. It was a really cool play to see where I've seen bubble screens work in similar situations in real life. Press man would've shut it down, but off man was still vulnerable.
I still need to try draw plays out.Xbox Live Gamertag: CreatineKasey

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
DonkeyJote, I agree with you concerning momentum and I like that addition to the game, but there were still some plays where my WR was not running top speed or stopping on a dime. They were gliding like icecapades! I also witnessed the 'glide' on some of the cpu Craig Cooper jukes. But I do think EA will tweak this before the game is released.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
Maybe so. I've played 4 games thus far, and havent kept track of stats. Its really my only big Gameplay complaint as of right now. I'm sure it wont be a lasting problem with sliders, I just dont want to have to choose between the CPU getting massive amounts completions or throwing massive amounts of INTs. I'll look more into it in some games tonight.Writer for Operation Sports
