Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here

I have had 2 50yd+ fieldgoals attempted on me.. One 54 yds.. and the other 57 yds.. Against 2 different teams (so it wasnt the same kicker).. They nailed both of them. The 57yd was on AA.. the 54yd was on Heisman (if that matters)..

I hope they fix that.. because kickers don't make those all the time.. and not with a great success rate. Florida's kicker was one.. don't remember what team on the other. That is one thing I would like to make sure isn't overdone.

Another thing.. I have found that my receivers seem to get open really easy downfield. If I send 3 guys out on a deep pattern.. There is always 1 who gets wide open.

Lag after picking plays.. must be the demo.

I don't like how you pick plays. I liked last years version better.. But I do like how you can easily go between formations.. and also the hurry up offense play calling.

I try using the hitstick as a running back.. but I can only juke left, right.. and do the stop thing. When I hit forward on the stick.. I get nothing usually.

And I can run the ball 2 straight times.. and not for big gains.. and my running back is already tired. Ehh.

I also suck on defense.. I haven't been good at defense since 2009.

Note to the DEVS in a patch or maybe before release could you guys make the spot on the field more noticeable in endzones? because on a deep pass to the endzone you can't quite make out the spot on the field the ball is going to land. I noticed it real good playing the red river shootout in the demo.

I've played a whole one game, but I get the feeling Heisman is going to cheat worse than usual. I played one demo game on AA and won 27-0, then I played on Heisman. First play the CPU throws a pass to a guy who's already out of bounds. The ball hits his hands for less than one second and then flies off his hands into the bench. He had both feet out of bounds before the ball even got to his hands, and not to mention, it was never a catch anyway. It's reviewed and overturned after being correctly called incomplete. Would've brought up 4th down, instead, they end up scoring a TD. Hope reviewing gets fixed and some day they just make the CPU smarter and better on Heisman without just making up for it by cheating, and it wasn't just the review. The broken tackles are excessive as usual. Difficulties need to be overhauled if this is an example of how it's going to work.

If you use playmakers varsity sliders you get great gameplay and a tough challenge from the cpu. I would recommend looking into his sliders this year. Don't be fooled by the varsity name.

So far i like AA a lot more, my biggest problem with NCAA is that HUMAN QB never miss.

I can`t throw a Overthrow even if i want to.

I tried subbing my QB 93ovr for a 77ovr and to be honest i didn`t see any difference.

EA really need to make ratings matter.... it`s just the same to play with a 60ovr QB and a 99Ovr QB.

              That`s how i see it.

Hope sliders can fix, at least, partially this problem.

To fix this all you would need to do is drop user throw accuracy and user catch for your sliders.

Anyone else notice that it feels like you are skating on ice when the players are running? I really like the other changes they have made but its not as fluid as madden. I wish they would of brought that aspect into NCAA this year.

Quick question here. I noticed on the demo that if you sprint and hold down on the RS Your player stops leaning, and starts high stepping(Not that anyone uses the back juke anyways). Do you guys think this has a purpose for making defenders miss, or is it just a celebration type thing? I've noticed that it doesn't loop, but it really doesn't slow you down.

I had the exact same feeling as well...Trust me, it just takes some getting used to and it will become normal looking again. It is just a different gameplay style than you're used to coming from Madden or NCAA 10.

After extended play on the demo, I no longer feel like my players are skating.

                        That´s not always the case.

With older ncaa versions, sliders were an extreme.

                        Hope they behave as madden.

Same here.. but i feel madden 2011 has the same problem.
I believe the locomotion seems to be the reason why they look like that more than ever.

It´s funny because locomotion should make movement and motion more realistic rather the other opposite.

I agree and it makes sense to some extent in that the offensive player knows where they are going (obvious advantages in inclement weather games for footing/planting) but it's still a little overpowered for the offense right now.

The Right Tackle is a swinging gate vs a user controlled edge rusher.

I played Texas-Oklahoma on AA, using Oklahoma.

Here are the ratings of the 2 Texas Tackles

LT: 90 Overall, 90 Awareness, Pass Block: 87, Pass Block Strength 80, Pass Block Footwork 90

RT: 90 Overall, 88 Awareness, Pass Block 88, Pass Block Strength 84, Pass Block Footwork: 86

--They are pretty much close to being the same type of player. The RT is stronger the LT, but the LT has a slightly higher awareness and foot work rating

                            Oklahomas DE's

LE: 89 Overall, 81 speed, 82 strength, 81 Block Shedding, 83 Finesse Move, 79 power move

RE:88 Overall, 73 speed, 84 strength, 82 Block Shedding, 68 Power Move, 82 Finesse Move.

LE is more of a speed rusher, the RE is stronger (yet he has a low power move rating? odd).

--Im able to blow right by the RT nearly at will..with the shoulder dip to the outside, or in..Im not even snap jumping, I just dip right on by him...once in awhile I'll get shoved down, but virtually very time..I can whip the RT very easily.

The LT, he stands his ground much better..he takes a good angle and tries to ride you wide if you try to go outside, and I actually had to make a counter move, and mix it up, more often then not.

If you flip the DEs, you get the same results. The RT, for some reason, cannot get into proper pass protection position.

I know this from first hand experience in my Madden 10 online league. The league leader in sacks is a user controlled Mario Williams...flipped to the Left side, so he can go up against the RT.

When we played, he was bursting into the backfield with ease. I have two 97 rated offensive tackles.

Its a definite AI soft spot.
I've noticed this as well. Pretty much every demo matchup I've played I've noticed that I can get pressure at will going up against the RT. I'm going to monitor sacks in our OD to see how this shakes out. It could get scary considering they improved the front 4's pass rush.

I don't know what game you're playing but I have had tons of missed passes an overthrows, They happin often if you try to aim your passes. So you must just be pushing the pass button

I love the demo and can't wait for 7/13.

One minor complaint is switching players in pass defense when the ball is in the air. It doesn't seem to switch me to the player that is closest to make a play on the ball.

For example, ill be playing cover 2 in nickel controlling the mlb...Cpu throws a fly, instead of switching me to the CB running step for step i mite get switched to the safety playing over the top... I dunno, i just often find myself saying why did i get switched to that guy.
