Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here

Wow, I've played two games so far both were great fun. The first was an OT thriller against Florida State who beat me 22-21. The second was a 10-7 win with Clemson over Mizzou with a last second field goal. I'll do my initial positives and negatives as most have done so far.

    Whats Been Good
*The intros are awesome. Right from the start when the menu gets fired up all the way to kickoff, there is an edge that hasn't been in the NCAA series in a long time.
*Tackles are beautiful and I can't stress that enough. I was tired of seeing shoe string tackles every other play
*Defending the no huddle is both manageable and good fun.
*Run Blocking was the first thing that really helped with the idea that recruiting will be taken to a whole new level.
*On a near sack of Christian Ponder, he was running outside to the left with little chance of getting back to the line of scrimmage without being swallowed by my D Tackle. He reversed field, but the great thing was, his knee nearly slipped to the ground in his pivot motion but was able to recover back to the right side and slip it to his back.
*Player models look great. The new Camera angle sort of coincides with that, as it really changes the aspect of graphics.

    What Could Be Improved
*Kirk and Brad are getting stale. Its really a situation where there needs to be a series that steps up to the plate liked NCAA Basketball 10 did and get multiple crews. I can deal with the momentary silence, but hearing the same phrases over makes you the game on the field feel less realistic.
*The new playbook is nothing to be proud of. Don't hate it, don't love it. Just not a fan.
*I'm not seeing many throws off target. If a ball is incomplete, its due to someone dropping it whether that be the Defense or the Offense.
*Arm motions never got fixed. Not a huge deal, but it adds variation and variation leads to durability in any video game.

Agreed, but nobody to blame the university, they're the ones who requested they not be included.

me and my dad just completed a 35-38 game. Why? We over-pursued on pretty much every play because we were used to the sucking animations and the ability to just turn around and follow the carrier at full speed.

Maybe because I'm use to playing madden but, IMO the game speed is to fast. I'll definitley be turning the speed down. Other than that I'm really liking the game. So far so good. Can't wait to see what the pro game looks like after this.

                  Good job so far EA!!!

Hm, really? I was thinking they looked a lot different. Unless I don't know what you mean by "fixed." They look way better than last year, imo.

yea think the throwing motions actually look good for once. They have some nice deliveries in the game. I like how they actually look like theyre throwing a bomb and that the cpu waits for their WRs to get down field before throwing a hail mary.

I think the game is in good shape so far

                        Positives
                        1. great intro to the game, it really make u feel like ur going out to play in a real game
                        2. The Offensive line run blocking schemes are on point
                        3. I like the sideline interaction that goes on with players while either offense/defense is on the field
                        4.The replay camera angles
                        5. The equipment on players.(FS from Miami had on the 2 tone sleeves green and orange...sick)

Even tho this is a demo.. and im sure that EA is still working stuff out with the game these are just some possibilities that could be add..

                        What could be improved
1.I would like to see blind side hit from the WRs when a ball is cut back or even on punt returns
                        2. have some player celebration in the end-zone to show the emotions of a big play such as (hip-bump/chest bump or even have the sideline congratulate the person who scored when he comes off the field. (even-tho they are cracking down on the celebration)
                        3. Have the D-end at times take out the legs of a pulling guard/tackle/or FB to disrupt play and make it bounce to the outside.
                        4. The defense should have a break down in coverage at times such as when the crowed is to loud and u try to switch the coverage when u notice the offense formations

Just downloaded the demo. I had exhausted my three free one-month trial gold memberships but they're running a special, $1 gold membership for one month, that I took advantage of (just have to remember to cancel it before the card is billed for the next month).

Anyway, my 2 cents: I like it.

Major, major upgrade graphically. This is just what I had been hoping for after seeing the initial screens. Just looks freaking stunning. I never thought they could upgrade this much. I figured they had maxed out the 360's graphical capabilities with NCAA 09, the last game I purchased. I'm going to pop in 09 here in a little bit just for comparison's sake. I really like Madden 10's graphics. But these are even better. The players have a 3-D look to them.

Only played 1 1/2 games: Beat Missouri 14-0 in the rain. Losing to Texas 10-0 at halftime. It looks like I'm actually watching the Red River Shootout on TV. Cotton Bowl looks fabulous.

Gameplay-wise, it's been tight (that's good), meaning I haven't had any WTF? moments yet. It's a little fast for my tastes, but I believe there's a game speed slider in the retail version (even if there's not, I can live with it).

My only initial complaint, like many have stated, is the cumbersome play-calling screens. It makes it a little harder in college because you don't have as much time on the play clock as you do in the NFL. But I think it's just a matter of getting acclimated with the screens, so I'm not really worried about it.

I can't imagine any major bug in the retail version that would spoil this game (except maybe something like the exclusion of CPU sliders -- brilliant move, Madden 09 folks!).

One question for someone who didn't buy NCAA 10: Were coaches in there? I noticed no coaches in the demo, but I'm hoping they're in the final build. I liked seeing them in last gen (even though you had to name them yourself). I can't remember if they were in 09, but I don't think so).
It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

"What? You can't challenge a scoring play?''

you do realize that it IS a video game. anyway, my only a gripe seems to be the run game is too good. blockers block who they're supposed to block, but once that happens it seems like the defenders can never shed thier blocks. hope thats adressed.
