Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
FEW additional impressionss after 2 games each with each team/game available....
- No CORSO is AWESOME....Never realized how annoying he ws til he was no longer there...LOVE that. I usually shut off commentary after a dozen or so games anyway.
- Locomotion is noticable and does change things. Good stuff.
- Player models look great IMHO.
- Lighting....Top NOtch. Nuff said.
- Run game just "FEELS" much better.
-Love the Pro-Combat jerseys...FSU's might just be one of the coolest unis EVER(and i HATE them).
Stuff that i wasnt so thrilled with...
- Playcall menu is just an odd design choice....Got the feel for it, but seems like its more cumbersome overall.
- On Heisman....WR/TE break WIDE OPEN quite a bit...Sliders could fix this problem in JULY... Hopefully.
- Player warping is still there....But i dont think we will ever NOT see that in this current generation, so its kinda expected.
- The new replay angles SUCK. Silly design choice. Should have went with realistic angles. A few of the angles have me looking at OL feet and obscure what actually happened.
-FGs still appear to be pre-school quality simple....2 58yd FGs by me in one game...58? Sliders can/will help.
But outside of that...1st day purchase for me 100%...Liked quite a bit and is a BIG step up from 10.
But who knows ultimately how it will all pan out on release. Is there MAJOR issues in game and in dynasty? Will sliders work? What silly little glitch/bug will pop up after a day or so and BREAK the game for some? These are VALID questions that do have me worried. However the core game seems VERY solid.
Good job EA IMHO....
* And not having Dreads is silly. I know why they arent in, but it is still silly. Minor minor gripe, but had to get it in.

Has anyone else seen a ridiculous amount of dropped passes?Chicago Bulls | Chicago Bears | Chicago White Sox | Chicago BlackhawksComment

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
Yeah, but that can be easily fixed with sliders.
My main concern right now is that the CPU QB won't take a sack. It's the same problem Madden 10 had. And I thought diving worked, but I was wrong. I can actually get tons of pressure on the CPU, but the QB just throws a lame duck. He should take more sacks. Hopefully this isn't in the retail version, or we'll need to fix it with sliders or need it in a patch. Still am liking this game a lot though.I will always, always be a Jets fan. But trust me it hurts.Comment

RayAllen - I note that as a con in my review as well. I'm not very concerned though as 90% of my time is vs. humans and they do take sacks, LOLStreaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
Only had a chance to get in 1 game last night, FSU (me) vs. Florida. Played on All-American and won 32-0. Obviously, I'll need to use sliders in the retail.
As for the game, I really enjoyed it. Played a lot like Madden 10, which I also enjoyed. I used Auto-Sprint and it was refreshing to not jam on the turbo button every play and just let the ratings dicatate things.
I was able to feather in passes over the middle that typically would've been picked off by super-jumping LBs in previous versions. I definitely noticed a difference in the OL-DL interaction. Makes running the ball a lot more intuitive, imo.
On defense, I used the MLB (didn't use player lock as I don't like the camera view) and it felt the same as other versions, which isn't a bad thing. I saw more pressure on the QB (I think I had 2-3 sacks and forced 2 fumbles), so I was happy with that.
Speaking of fumbles, I saw at least 5 in my limited playtime. Hopefully, that is something we can tune or can be fixed.
Graphics were solid. I don't know if it was because my game was overcast or what but the game had kind of "haze" look to it. I'll have to play in clear weather to see if there's a difference. I was underwhelmed by the team entrance for FSU, but I'm glad EA made an effort.
I like the ESPN wipes and I was fine with the replay angles. All in all I didn't see anything that would deter me from buying the game, and that's the best thing I can say at this point.Currently Playing:

Ok, after FINALLY getting the demo around 7-8p tonite when I got back home, I played continuously, only taking food and bathroom breaks and the like - I dig it. Reminds me of Madden 10. Not sure if I'm truly seeing the locomotion engine in effect, though, unless Madden 10 had it, too, the NCAA 11 demo doesn't seem any different. I played each match up once and each time, the demo felt longer than 2 min qrts, to me, for some reason.
That being said:
Presentation - Like it and I do like the replay angles but need more variation such as with "real life replay" replays. Play call screen I dig, too, because it's similar to Madden 10's, which took me a lil bit to get used to, but NCAA 11 improves on Madden 10's play call screen. Nice.
Audio - Still out of place commentary and some of the crowd effects sound really canned and "out of place", at times, as well.
Gameplay - It's Madden 10. I like that but this new locomotion engine doesn't really seem to be there, to me. Maybe I need more time to see the nuances and/or go back and check Madden 10 out, again, then play this demo some more. Kinda reminded me of my previous car having a V-Tech 4 cycl. engine then I got a V6 loaner and initially couldn't tell the difference. BOY, was I wrong with my first impressions of that V6. LOL. Blocking is great, though. I see the fixes with that.
I think I was also under the impression that this game would have the new stick control that Madden 11. I may have confused that. Took away some of the "umph" of the demo, in the beginning.
That's about it. Some quirky and buggy stuff in there but, eh, I'll let the NCAA 11 bug forum handle all that.
OH, the lighting can be a bit irksome. Doesn't look quite right, to me, but I still dig it, overall. Could just be cuz IT'S A DEMO, IT'S A DEMO, IT'S A DEMO, IT'S A DEMO...Just cuz you pour syrup on ish....Comment

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
Is there a timed limit to select the defensive plays when running no huddle? I was playing a head to head game and I ran the no huddle but my opponent didn't select anything, and the defensive play screen just stayed up.Comment

I'm about to try that, today. Hopefully I'm on the same page with you but I feel the need to be holding down the button may take over. Lol. Then again, I got used to the NHL demos where there was NO turbo button so, I'll see in a minute.Just cuz you pour syrup on ish....Comment

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
Downloaded and played the demo twice last night (UF/FSU, Miami/OSU). Love, love, love the game. It was the most fun I've had with NCAA since 2004. I haven't purchased NCAA since 2007 (I've rented and passed on the last several), but this was fantastic. The little presentation touches made me feel immersed again and the stadium details are great...I felt like I was at Doak Campbell and at the Shoe.
Only thing I'll disagree with from other folks is the FG's...I tried a 58 yarder and the defender caught the ball at the goal line. I'm not seeing the super long kicks at this point.
