Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
I posted something about 50 pages back. So i wanna add when are they gonna get a different crowd is the game besides the cutseens? They don't even look real, lol. Also player models on the sideline look awful. Its 2010, every game always had these models, I know it may not be a big deal but it just stands out, looks like PS1 days. Got great stadiums, player graphics, etc, then u see the crowd and players on the sidelines makes you think like.
Overall after playing numerous times. I may buy this instead of madden. I didn't get this last year though and I have only bought NCAA once in my life and I am really enjoying the demo. The only gripes I have are:
- the players look like they are sliding not running.
- warping receivers to catch passes that are over led.
- super human speed on CPU defense
- played on Heisman the second time around and it seems to fast but the speed slider could fix this.
- while using the auto turbo sometimes the RB seems to stop for 2 seconds at the LOS after he gets a handoff, didn't happen when I had auto turbo off.
- pass rush is iffy, sliders could fix this.
- keep seeing the same tackle animations
- play call system needs to go back to the 3 plays selected at once so you press either X, B, or A to select a play.
I know its only the demo, hopefully they have these fixed in the retail version.Last edited by steelersfan7; 06-15-2010, 07:54 AM.GO STEELERS!!!Comment

Thanks man. My overall impression of the game is GREAT! This will be the first NCAA game I have bought since like 2003 or so. I guess since not playing this game for so long I dont understand all the issues people are talking about. I really like the presentation and it definitely feels different than Madden which I buy every year. Good job E.A.Comment

I really enjoyed the Demo. I think they game looks and plays much improved. But this is a credit for EA on HOW TO DO A GOOD DEMO.
1) Multiple games to show off your assets (Different offensive schemes for different schools)
2) Full commentary - why doesnt Madden do this?
3) Full presentation - Nice ESPN highlights and pregame stuff. MUCH improved.
4) Unlockables! - a nice bonus for playing all the games and telling your friends gets you extra jerseys to use in the game
5) Features mini-documentaries (showing off the sweet new Locomotion in NCAA11)
This could be the year i return to College Football.Comment

The game truely felt differnt!! In a great way!!
2 things I loved playing at the Horseshoe when taking the kick-off, how great does the staduim look??
And I'm sure its been posted here but the WR for Ohio St. made a back of the endzone TD catch and planted both feet in bounds it was done perfect!! If we can except that from the retail and from Madden this will be a great year of EA Football.. Well done EA Well Done!!"Thank you EA for a Great Football Game""Eli you are one tough SOB"Comment

Putting the tempo on aggressive doesn't make you go to no huddle, it makes your team go to the line faster after you call a play. And if you put it on conservative it makes your guys take there time getting to the line, that would be good to use if you wanna chew up clock late in the game.GO STEELERS!!!Comment

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
the game did feel better than last year, but madden 10 still played better. there is still a gliding motion from the players, especially when they go in motion on offense.. I still feel that the sideline catches could be tweaked a little better. The camera is a little to far back. ( maybe there will be more options on the final version.). The lighting is very nicely done this year.
i didnt see too many gang tackles, but the running movement was done very well.
overall, the game is much improved from last year. At first, the game didn't blow me away, but the improvements from last year are noticed and i'm sure with more time playing i will see more upside to the gameplayComment

Almost the exact feelings i had. I would add the following opinions to yours:
Pro
i like the player models alot better this year and i thought the graphics were good enough.
Cons
I am really disappointed other QB ratings didn't make its way into the game. It makes the QBs vary less than they should be. Especially, if the QBs don't run much.
Still in question for me
I played against OSU 7 times and Pryor ran twice and passed quite a bit- scrambling QBs rarely ran last year. Not saying its broken, just saying its something to keep an eye on.
Fatigue was almost non existent last year. Even with formation subs- i hope its much bigger factor
I have seen the CPU QB scramble and run about 4 times in my games. Would like to see more, but it still is a bit of an improvement from last year where they didn't scramble at all.
The last game I played against OSU Prior took off twice on scrambles for 15 and 20 yards. Only bad part is he fumbled at the end of both of them, but at least the CPU ripped off a couple of good runs with him. Still haven't seen one designed run from Pryor in three games, which is concerning.
Also keep in mind with the regards to the CPU QB not running/scrambling that much, that most of the QB's in the demo are not really known for their running ability besides Pryor.Last edited by mgoblue678; 06-15-2010, 08:06 AM.My Teams

I liked everything, but I did have a problem with the the deep ball. It looks like these Qbs were throwing 60 yd bombs with ease. I also think the pocket should be improved. Love the running game, and the defensive movement. Wish there was a broadcast replay first, then they could do the close up replays.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
Played all 4 matchups last night.
Overall impressions are, the game feels real smooth...the AI blocking is noticeable, I like the autosprint feature, though it bit me a few times, so I turned it off.
On the read option, the DE that the QB is reading still makes too fast of a move back to the QB once he bites. Now it could be that I did it wrong, but the DE went down, which is the sign for the QB to keep the ball...but by the time Pryor got to the corner, the DE who was almost instantaneously at the Center, was able to go through a guard and a tackle blocking down, without being touched, and tackle the qb for a 3 yard loss.
that tells me the read option blocking while better, is still not working right.
draw plays finally work, and the ICON doesn't cover up half the LOS now.
Graphics are tight, real nice. I think in the rain, on a grass field, the uniforms should get dirtier quicker.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
Everything looked good last night.
My only gripes are this:
1. I liked last years audible and play selection screen better. It takes too long to cycle through plays, particularly defensive plays against a no huddle team.
2. Rain. Just like last year, it seems any game played outside in a southern state is in the rain. Yes it rains more than other places in the south. But I can count on my hands the number of times I watched a game in the rain the last couple of years.
I played the demo a lot last night and the only place the game did not rain while playing was the tOSU and Miami match up. EA please tone down the rain showers. I'm tired of playing almost EVERY game in the rain with random weather is turned on.
3. Lack of a pass rush. I only managed to get 3 sacks total last night in the game. That was only when I dialed up a safety blitz. My D-Line men are getting flattened almost instantly when I try to bring pressure. I hope sliders can help fix that.Last edited by Arkavian; 06-15-2010, 08:18 AM.Comment
