Has it been said that we can edit coach's prestige ratings? If not, then I will be very upset, but if we can edit them and the coordinators that'd be fantastic!
Also, I'm hoping those coordinators' prestige changes later after they become a head coach. If not, then we really really need to be able to edit the rating.I will always, always be a Jets fan. But trust me it hurts.Comment

Which is EXACTLY what I was looking for from coaching carousel.
I don't think we've even realized all the ways this will change our enjoyment and how we play dynasty mode.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 12 Video - Coaching Carousel Part 2
Each coach really needs to have a coaching profile tied to their playbooks. A Spread playbook will look for balanced QBs, whereas a Pro system or West Coast will look for Pocket Passers. This probably isn't in, but needs to be in next year.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 12 Video - Coaching Carousel Part 2
This whole prestige thing is already causing problems. Some points other people made do make for good reading , like the Mike Martz point , while he maybe a A/A+ OC and Lovie Smith maybe a B/B+ HC , would Martz take a prestige drop if he was made HC ?
Also high prestige coaches shouldn't have to much power , it shouldn't be guaranteed they have good seasons and good recruiting classes year in and year out. If that was the case Booby Bowden would still be there , he was a highly respected coach (high prestige) but his last few years were average.
The above can hold true with Joe Paterno , a highly respected coach and long termer but that doesn't grant you a good recruit class every year or even being a Big Ten contender.
And how would you rate someone like Chris Petersen while he is clearly a highly talented coach and OC , how would you rate his prestige ? Since Boise st ain't getting the best recruits but this is linked into the college prestige, yet they keep winning.
While I offer no solutions this whole prestige thing gets you thinking.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 12 Video - Coaching Carousel Part 2
I'm pretty sure when you create a coach you detail what kind of players you want at each position (Scrambling/Balanced QB, Power/Speed RB, etc), so I would assume you can do that for coaches that are already in the game as wellComment

I wonder if they'll only allow you to choose an alma mater from the schools in the game. Not all college coaches graduated from a FBS school so it would be disappointing to be limited to those choices but i bet we are since Alma Mater matters in coaching carousel.Comment

Not sure where I read it but I am almost certain that you can't use teams via teambuilder for your alma materComment

Re: NCAA Football 12 Video - Coaching Carousel Part 2
I don't know if that is exactly in, but we have been told recruiting has been tuned and teams like GT will go for fast QBs now that actually fit their system. And if their scheme changes with a new coach, so does who they recruit.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

I am not too up on college football to know the real names of coaches. Are the names in the game the ACTUAL names of the real coaches? Like the NC State guy that got poop canned, was that their actual coach? IF not that's pretty weak. Or, does anyone know if there will be a way to name them all correctly like we do with the players?Comment

Doubtful, but great question. I'd hope that this is something you'd take on when you become a head coach.Writer for Operation Sports

Why would prestige change? Think of it this way Monte Kiffin is a DC at USC if he became a Head coach does he all of a sudden become less prestigious. That wouldn't make sense. If it was an experience rating tied to this stuff that would be the one that should change if your position changes.
I'm pretty sure the OC with a high prestige rating would affect JUST the offense. Same for the DC. But coaches don't directly affect how player play in real life anyway. If that was the case, you'd think we wouldn't have guys like Tate Forcier being touted as a bust right now, right?
Prestige is basically a respect rating. Ohio State has a 6-star because they are a respected, dominant powerhouse in the NCAA. Jim Tressel probably has an A+ because when guys come to Ohio St. they will listen, pay attention, and learn.
Think about it like this: You think Phil Jackson made Kobe Bryant play better? Or is Kobe just THAT good? Look at LeBron. Mike Brown made him a better defender while he was with Cleveland. So now that he's in Miami with a different coach, he's just supposed to magically not know how to play defense as well because he plays for a less-experienced coach?
The only thing coaches do is make players better. The players PLAY, the coaches COACH. Hence, the reason why coaches affect progression. Just because a coach is an offensive-minded coach doesn't mean guys will automatically run better routes and catch better. The guys have to know HOW, right?
BTW, I'm not some guy who THINKS he knows about football. I've been playing all my life, and I plan ot at least try to walk-on in college, hopefully my sophomore year.Comment
