Re: PATCH INFO RELEASED..progression not fixed?
Coaching progressing is pretty bad and I turn in off in dynasty. It's a shame it's all jacked up because it could be really cool. I loved it in College Hoops 2K8.
Player progression is a problem too. I simmed out 5 years and there we so many guys in the high 90's. It seemed like most schools had a QB rated somewhere in the 90's.
The weird thing is in-season progression is very slow. +1 or +2 points total but out of season they balloon up several points.
Progression has been a problem and it is again. I hope they can fix it but that might not happen until NCAA 13.GT: Herkyalert

Re: PATCH INFO RELEASED..progression not fixed?
In terms of progression:
Turn off coaching carousel. It will solve coaches getting too high in progression and prestige.
This in turn resolves progression being too high. But wait! You aren't done yet
Turn down all coaches by .5 .25 of a letter grade. There should be no A+ coaches. This will help progression be more realistic in game.
So once the roster are completely fixed by update we can start enjoying some football!Comment

Re: PATCH INFO RELEASED..progression not fixed?
All these people are talking about what ratings and progression looks like after you get more then 5 years in but all I see is people doing sim test. Has anyone played a game against the higher rated players? I have been playing the series for some time now and can say that the higher the ratings the better the game plays. Just because a player is rated a 99ovr, which I put little value in to start with, does not mean he is unstoppable. If NCAA 11 taught us anything it was that the way the game is set up does not support low ratings very well. I'm a fan of the higher ratings..
That is not the point..it has nothing about the game and players being too unstoppable. Its just that we dont want that many good players rated around the same...there should only be a few of those rare and special players every year in college football. Not 50 to 100 of them...what fun is that to always playing with and against players that are just as good as each other?Comment

How is having way too many good/great players a solution? You can easily "please everyone". Have it be realistic and have the proper amount of excellent talent. Not sure why you think that can't be done.Comment

Re: PATCH INFO RELEASED..progression not fixed?
THIS IS NOT TRUE. The numbers i've talked about since i created the thread was with CC off. The Progression is still out of hand. And to all the people saying that just because a person is a 99 doesn't mean he is good, that doesn't make sense. A 99 is given after a collection of ratings that matter to a postion is obviously high, therefore making him good. With the abundance of 99Ovr QB's, your gunna say some are not good? that could be in fact the roster glitch having people playing out of tendencyComment

Re: PATCH INFO RELEASED..progression not fixed?
While I agree that coach prestige is way too high and has two effects:
1. The biggest problem for me is it ruins coaching carousel a few years into dynasty. Half of all coaches (head and coordinator) will be A+ prestige so it becomes nearly impossible to get a good job.
2. The increased coach prestige trickles down and effects the progression of players causing their ratings to be slightly inflated over base set. I however do not find this to be as big of a deal as everyone else does. The game plays great. The highly rated players are qb's (because of increased awareness) and kickers which makes gameplay a ton better (last years kickers couldn't make crap). I will gladly take the inflated QB overalls because most of it is caused by awareness which makes gameplay a ton better.
Also overall is just a number. It is a formula taken into account all the other attributes to come up with a score for a player. It in itself does not affect gameplay so don't worry about it. A simple fix would be for EA to tweak their overall formula for QB's slighlty and everyone would stop crying.Comment

a month or two? you might as well trade it in now and re-buy it later then. chances are if a fix is not in this patch in august (almost september the way I hear it) we wont see it until October if at all. get your trade in value maximized and do something else with the dough in the mean time.Comment

A perfect example is in my roster thread where I do not pay attention to overalls when editing players, I have received numerous feedback like this, "hey man, I love what you are doing in re-rating everyone to make them play more realistic and who they are on the field. I absolute love your "randon team" roster. I just bumped "John Doe" from an 86 to an 88, and I dropped "John Doe 2" to a 79 since "John Doe 3" was rated lower than him, and he absolutely blows up people on the field."
I agree completely about the QB's. The only crazy progression happening is to their awareness, which like you said, makes better gameplay anyways. Now, if they all where gaining +10 speed, or arm strength, then that would be a different story.
And lastly, as I have posted before. The main issue with the "too high progression" people are seeing in the beginning is the majority of rosters are not built for dynasty progress. Look at your roster and you will see tons of Frosh with 90+ speed, agility, acceleration, juke, spin, etc. This is something that can be changed, so why not change it? There is the ability to edit the rosters for a reason.Last edited by cparrish; 08-08-2011, 06:25 PM.BuffEye Rosters available on the Xbox 360 and PS3. The most in-depth roster for NCAA 14 and beyond.

Re: PATCH INFO RELEASED..progression not fixed?
I'm confused. 64 99s in year 10? I'm in year 12 of a dynasty and there are only 16 99s in the entire NCAA.
Progression is completely fine -- EXCEPT for QBs. Of the 16 99s in my dynasty, 11 are QBs. And I think about 40 QBs are 90+, which dwarfs every other position. As far as I can tell, the problem is in-season progression -- QBs seem to be the only position that improves with in-season progression, so over the course of a 4-5 year career they can pick up an additional 5-10 points that other players don't get. I realize it's mostly because they all have 99 awareness, and the overall rating isn't that important, but it's just annoying to see almost every team with a 90+ overall QB.
They need to fix QB progression; beyond that I don't see any problem. Unless my dynasty is completely abnormal for some reason.Comment

Re: PATCH INFO RELEASED..progression not fixed?
People on here are absolutely infatuated with the overall ratings. If they see Player A is an 84, but player B is an 85, they will bump Player A's ratings to make him an 86. In doing this, you completely changed who Player A is suppose to be. Now he will play like an entirely different player. Basically, you have created a Player C.
A perfect example is in my roster thread where I do not pay attention to overalls when editing players, I have received numerous feedback like this, "hey man, I love what you are doing in re-rating everyone to make them play more realistic and who they are on the field. Re: PATCH INFO RELEASED..progression not fixed?
Also, the coach progression definitely needs to be fixed since there are way too many A+ coaches. But I don't understand why other people have so many 99 overall players and I don't. In fact, most positions don't even have a 98 or 97 in my dynasty.Comment
