Yeah how dare people point out little things like DB's standing still while the RB runs past them and never move or fumbles being counted as incomplete passes.
In all seriousness, these things aren't hunted down, they are in your face.

haha yea i havent experienced any of that nor do i run the option. the only thing that bugs me so far is i play most games every week in dynasty and its showing studio updates for every game i havent even played yet lol.

But im playing on AA so idk what to tell u. If it bugs you that much dont buy the game no1 is forcing you to. Thats why we have the season pass so people can test the game out before spending 64 dollars on a game.

But i will say that once the rosters come out and someone makes a slider set that may fix some of the bugs that you guys are pointing out that I would have never noticed in the game until u point them out, It would be the best ncaa on the 360 console.

Run a Load Option play about 5 times in a row. I guarantee you will see the CB/SS freeze or back pedal at least twice.

i just ran it with oregon and miss the toss so badly because the CB tackled my RB and the ball went back like 9 yards for a fumble. Im not trying to be rude or anything because I believe all of you guys, its just when someone like me is having fun and loves the game, someone always has to say something negative. as long as they dont try to patch something to make 2 more things go bad then well im satisfied.

I love, love, love the auto drop back feature. I no longer have to worry about drop backs, or my natural drift to the right side of the pocket. I am only focusing on the down field action now. It my be my favorite feature of this game. Can't say enough about how much I like it.

I am very disturbed by the safety play at default All-American. Played FSU (me) vs Oregon. The CPU safeties were atrocious for large portions of the game. This is alarming because sliders don't alter the game user vs user, so while it could be fixed User vs CPU, it will still be a problem User vs User. They were out of position, jumped up into plays for no reason, turned inside when they should've turned outside. It was really, really bad IMO. I have some footage from the game, but honestly I was shocked with how bad they looked. I will have to play some more, but I didn't expect to see some of what I saw.

Thought the running game on default AA was fair, and offered a good challenge if you followed the play art up to the hole. Oregon was able to contain my ground game, although I did break some good runs. I also liked that the CPU QB scrambles again!!! Oregon's QB was a threat to run on passing plays until he got hurt the number two didn't really try.

Also, not really a fan of motion blur at all.

Here is the video of that poor safety play I mentioned earlier.

Re: NCAA Football 13 Impressions Thread

People bash this game every year it comes out but I feel like a lot of it's justified.

While the new passing game and catch animations are great, it doesn't mean anything if the AI is horrible.

I was easily scoring over 50 in the 3 minute quarters on the demo because the CBs would let my WR run right by them and be wide open.

The option in this game is horrible as well. It's pretty ridiculous that the DBs backpedal 10 yards out of bounds.

I'm not sure how some of us can spot a ton of issues after playing for an hour but EA can't.

What's up with the QB not lining up directly behind center? Most of my plays are out of shotgun so I haven't seen this yet.

At any rate, after my first game with the demo a week ago, I said it was pretty much the exact same game with some new animations, new cut scenes, and a new replay angle. I also said this may be the first year I don't buy the game.

I've really purchased this game every single year it has came out but I'm to the point where I don't even look forward to it anymore because it's the same thing with some added window dressing.

If they aren't really going to make any drastic improvements, they could at least fine tune the AI and what they have.

Played 3 games online. I'll sound bitter, but here goes: My impression = blah...not much different than past 2-3 years. Knew it would happen, shame on me for expecting "revelations." Definitely a 0.5 yr increase, if you ask me. Familiar flaws, lacking even the intent of touch up or polish. Poor AI blocking, passes to flats still picked off too much for my taste. Running game unchanged. Non human "intuitive" AI decisions. Why is dollar, quarter, 4-2-5, or nickle defense better than 4-3, 4-4, 4-6, or goal-line D vs the run?!?!? That's beyond silly?!? A few new animations, especially receiving and some tackling, but not much new. At least change the menu's (fonts, etc) so we dont feel totally ripped off?!? Or, the pixellated crowds?!? Comes off as a very lazy effort. I have to say, overall it has been a steady disappointment the past few years if you ask me. There's money and resources behind this team...which is sad, I guess i expect more, this game has become predictable/stale. A shame. It's not awful, it is what it is, but it just leaves you hungry with an appetite for something with flavor, innovation, and a distict identity. It defines "stale."

Haven't had a chance to play a game yet, but I love the new recruiting. Starting off as a one star school and hunting for one or two star gems to help build your program will see me spending more time in recruiting than ever before.

Re: NCAA Football 13 Impressions Thread

Finished my third game, @ blacksburg and won 24-17. Was down 17-0 early but controlled the second half to pull away.

Couple of little things before I get to the big problem.

                      1) whenever there's a touchback, the ball is placed on the wrong yard. The nose should be touching the 25, but it's touching the 26. It makes the first down line off, too. Very noticeable since there are a lot of touchbacks.

                      2) CPU pass rush on heisman is no joke. User pass rush is a joke on both AA and heisman. I've been using miami, and we didn't get much pressure with the front four last year, but it was better than what I'm seeing so far.

                      3) Qbs are really accurate. probably need to lower that.

The biggest problem with the game so far, as someone above me illustrated, is CPU safety play, specifically in cover 4. It's really bad. Half of the field is played correctly, while the other half has some catastrophic mistake that causes wrs to go free. The game winning play in the VT game I just played was on a smash route combo (outside WR curls, inside runs a corner/flag) where the FS and BOTH CBs jumped on the curl and left the flag wide open. I also saw one some 4 verts plays where the cpu safety freaks out and jumps the wrong route, putting him way out of the play. The safeties are supposed to get depth, not try to jump routes and get out of position.

It's a shame because the game is otherwise very fun. Luckily, it seems to not be a problem for the user controlled defense, but the CPU safeties play receivers very poorly.

Re: NCAA Football 13 Impressions Thread

Been observing the AI's option running pretty heavily in my first several games since that's more or less the make or break point to me keeping my pre-order...and right now, it's break. Basically, I took Georgia Tech into a dynasty and am playing each week's games as their opponent, trying to see if they can run it effectively on me.

As many others have stated, against other division 1 talent on default sliders (AA difficulty), the AI just cannot run the option at all. I added the qualifier "Division 1" because I did see a ray of hope with GT doing exactly what they should do against an FCS team (their week 2 game) - put up 350+ yards on the ground and absolutely steamroll them. But in the next game I'm playing against them with Virginia, it's back to the same old getting stuffed on nearly every play.

Going to mess around with the sliders a bit, but I may be canceling my preorder early this morning if I can't get it working any better than this. I have strong feelings about a college football game needing the option to BE a college football game, and right now this one doesn't have it.

In those cutscenes there are some of the lower-quality models mixed in, but they do a good job of hiding them.

Saw some people asking if this was an old build. No. This is the retail release. So if you don't like it now, you won't on Tuesday.

I played several games tonight, with a mixed bag. (All games on AA, 6 minute quarters, I just let the CPU sim defense, and I played Offense only)

I brought out Arizona State against Arizona, and won 27-7, and felt like the passing game was incredibly easy for me to move the ball.

I brought out South Carolina against Clemson, jumped out to a 21-0 lead, and ended up losing 30-28, and the game felt smooth. While jumping out to the lead I felt as if it was too easy to pass, and there was no way for me to be stopped, the only way I would not score was to turn the ball over. The 2nd half severely disabused me of that notion, as Clemson just dominated time of possession, and caused me to make a few mistakes.

I lost a shootout to Arkansas State with UL-Monroe 45-41, and this is where I really abused the 4 WR's deep.

I closed out with New Mexico State against UTEP, and I won fairly handily and had a few nice plays. I finally got the right thumbstick with the QB about to get hit, and he shrugged off the sack, and got off a pass with another DL in his face. It felt fantastic!

Gut feeling is that passing feels better, and it's easy to get on a roll with a good QB where you are going to feel unstoppable. Playing with some lousy teams I felt like I suffered from more poor QB play, or WR drops which felt right. The 4 WR's deep though is exploitable to the point where I can imagine games where people run nothing but. It felt fairly easy to take advantage of poor DB AI on deep balls 3-4 times a game.

There were some other little things, but by far the DB AI is a killer for me. Dont get me wrong, I still enjoyed the game, but that's very close to being a gamebreaker for me. Still buying, still enjoying, and I'll try Heisman tomorrow, or adjusting some sliders to see if it improves. For my personal dynasty, I'll just remove most of those plays from my playbook, but I know that in the online I do with friends, there will definitely be a few people who will live on those plays.
