Re: NCAA Will Not Renew EA Sports Contract, NCAA Football Series is Dead in Name Only
IT's premature to feel for the devs about losing their jobs when we don't even know that. They might just move over to Tiburon or find other duties or sports games. Let's not jump the gun on that.... yetComment

So, with NCAA out of the picture, EA can bring back discipline/violations and allow customizable playoff options right? Do they even still have access to Bowl logos and whatnot?
Maybe a positive in the long run? Less restrictions?"Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

How often does the NCAA name or logo even appear on the game? Maybe on the fields or uniforms but that's really about it.
The thing I am most scared about is if they aren't allowed to make players to the likeliness of their real-life players. Although I'm sure they would be editable, it would add days.. if not weeks to the roster naming and editing process.NCAA- Iowa Hawkeyes
NFL- Minnesota Vikings
NHL- Chicago Blackhawks
MLB- Minnesota Twins
NBA- Chicago Bulls
NASCAR- Clint Bowyer
PGA- Rory McIlroyComment

The NCAA does have that power, because the schools give it to them. And you are right they could leave and do their own thing...and should, but you are talking about a rather large step for Universities to take if the O'Bannon case fails and the NCAA still retains the ability to dictate what constitutes amateur status all because of a video game. It's going to take O'Bannon winning and a serious threat to television rights to get rid of the NCAA as it stands and Universities agreements with a century old organization.Last edited by Dogslax41; 07-17-2013, 03:45 PM.Comment

No NCAA means:
1) We can have celebrations on way to the end zone!
2) Bringing down the fkn goalpost after major home upsets!!!Comment

Do you guys really think EA's not going to make a college football game? Even if they wanted to wash their hands clean. Their a business, if they know something is a cash cow they will not let it go to waste. Especially with next-gen right around the corner.Comment

Re: NCAA 2014 = THE END!
This could be a problem. Programs like Alabama will ask for a hell of a lot more than say Illinois. Some schools will definitely be excluded. Individual licensing can prove a lot more costly than a package NCAA deal.Comment

There's a lot of talk of the Big 5 splitting from the NCAA as-is, at least for football, to play by their own set of rules.Comment

Doubt displine/violations will be in because even the individual schools hate to promote that stuff.Comment

Re: NCAA 2014 = THE END!
It wont. All 127 schools are in the CLC. EA negotiates with the CLC and Notre Dame. As long as Alabama is in the CLC it will get its contractual amount.Comment
