EA still has a contract that runs until 2014. They can put out another game before it expires in June 2014. Read the release again. I don't think they are referring to the actual title NCAA Football 2014. They are referring to a game that would be made and released in 2014 since the title of the game this year is actually NCAA Football 14. They probably just messed up calling it 2014 since that is when it is released

I hope Ed O'Bannon doesn't have a Twitter. Because if so, it's about to blow up. And not in a nice way.Comment

Keep in mind, that if the NCAA & EA win the legal battle with O'Bannon and Keller, it clears the way for licensing in the future.
This is not the legal system ruling that what they're doing is illegal, this is a contract coming to an end and because of the uncertainty, they're not renewing.
If they win their case = we will see future NCAA games.
If they lose their case = the series would have ended anyway.Comment

Re: NCAA 2014 = THE END!
That's not going to happen. There is not enough interest i a "generic" PRO football game for 2k to have continued that ALL Pro stuff they did. And 2k is probably not as much as a dollars/profit watcher as EA is. So I seriously doubt that EA is going to make a generic anything. It's one of those things that if you cant do it right (which would be with the actual license) then just dont waste the money doing it at all. Yes I know it sounds good, and I think we want something, anything so bad that we try to convince ourselves it would happen.. but I think EA will just lay low until the NCAA decides they might want to start it back up again. #realtalk__________________________________________________ ____

Re: NCAA Will Not Renew EA Sports Contract, NCAA Football Series (in name at least) d
On a real note, how depressing. Been playing this series for over a decade. Used to do the rosters myself before I found out that people like me enjoyed naming them. I like NBA 2k and The Show, but I love college football way more than I do basketball, baseball, the NFL.
I pray EA offers a playoff as DLC. Would be willing to pay a good amount since this might be the last college football game for awhile.
I think at some point, there will be more college football games. But I'm not sure when or from who.Comment

They could def go the way of generic teams, and allow us to adjust and teambuild our own realistic rosters and teams.Comment

terrible news, especially since NCAA '14 isn't on the EA ignite XB1/PS4 launch list so NCAA dies this fall with the 360/PS3...Comment

Re: NCAA 2014 = THE END!
It's too bad O'Bannon and Sam Keller spoiled the party.
Maybe we'll see a college football again some day when the legalities of all this are more firmly defined.
I do hope we still get a patch. I'm not sure how long EA will support the product, but hopefully we get one update.Comment

Re: NCAA 2014 = THE END!
Exactly. You caught me before my edit! Haha. The big schools *may* not do it since they know their name is already "out" there, but on the other hand, they will almost be forced to do it by their alumni and fans, I think.
Smaller schools who were not included in the NCAA's licensing agreement can go to EA and say "we'll give you whatever you want to put our school on the game" now and NCAA can't do anything about it.Comment
