I will say, as somebody using these XP sliders with Canes' sliders, it's not really a big issue for me yet. More DBs have house call but i'm still seeing dropped picks by these guys, very rare fantastical catch animations, and not having an effect on the simulation much

Personally, I’ve seen an uptick in INTs with the last patch with my slider set. But that’s not an xp issue.

I actually saw the opposite. I just finished a season all post-patch, and in 15 games, I had 10 interceptions and threw 9.

I’m hoping to get home this weekend and I’ll start a dynasty with these. I have a couple questions:

          1. Does that SS and FS setting have anything to do with the fact that Hybrid safeties don’t develop for some reason? If so, do the other archetype safeties improve a lot more in compensation?

          2. Am I correct in hearing that the off-season XP improvements aren’t affected by the XP slider set, and only the in-season improvements?

There aren’t any crazy high rated safeties after the premade players are out of the game. It’s rare to see any hit 90.

That is my understanding as well. XP is for the in season upgrades that player do themselves

That’s why they have the highest average grade? There’s 2-3 1st round picks and bunch of mid rounders with the current set.
It’s a balancing act. If you raise WRs, you’ll have WRs taking the place of other positions declaring early, which causes too many HBs or QBs to stay in school for too long. The set as is is as close to maintaining the ratios of positions in the draft with the base roster as I could replicate. Certain positions are just too good or bad, but I did what I could to balance them out.
The real issue with some positions like WR is that 5 star WRs come in lower than they should. It’s hard to get real freak athletes through the xp without causing balancing issues.

One thing I think we should be thinking about. It's more than just ratings. Players need xp and points for abilities as well. DB's will always end up with way more abilities than WR with these settings, which isnt the most realistic imo.

Again though, it’s a balancing act. You basically have to max out DB xp to get any into the 90s which is needed to have some elite one’s leave early. Their progression paths are the problem. It’s always cheaper for them to level up their badges and abilities than it is for them to buy upgrades for their ratings. So you either have a bunch of bad DBs, so passing becomes easy, or you have 85-90 rated top end DBs that have elite badges. Then you have to balance that with the rest of the positions.

Basically, you’ll end up with DBs with elite badges if you want to have anywhere near accurate ratings. It’s just the way the progression system works. The player always chooses the cheapest upgrades. For DBs badge upgrades are cheaper than rating upgrades at a certain point so they always take that route.

Yeah you're not wrong, lol. It's just a bit frustrating to see the entire nation with House Call on Platinum. I get that its hard to balance though.

Yes this fully. In year 16 or 17 I noticed a LOT of teams that normally would recruit well based on the games recruiting logic but for whatever reason struggle to break 80 OVR team ratings. So I think players are not progressing as needed. So to me its either the coaches don't have the right boosts, the players are not earning enough extra XP in season, or something else like wasting points on abilities.

I will say though even if you change a CB to SS and back to CB, they still won't progress in the offseason. I tested that to get all the badges for my SR CB. Had platinum in every badge and several blocks open. Sim to training results and he didn't progress an inch and no new badges opened. Like yall come on. Elite 5* Corners with 1 or 2 caps should hit 99 easy. Or at least come close sometimes.

Just went through the first off season of my Duke Dynasty. My d line and linebackers starter and all back ups got no upgrades to any individual stats or overall, everything was the same as before the training starter. Is this common with this slider set up? Or was that likely some sort of glitch?

The xp sliders mainly (maybe only?) affect the xp gained from in game stuff. The offseason training is a separate thing that is out of our control (besides the one coaching perk that may or may not work.) it’s possible the majority of your roster has reached their peak(no more upgrade slots.) or you just got unlucky. If you have an old save you can retry it.

Any updates to all these since you recently updated your sliders?

Nope, I just used the base set since launch. I'll be working on a set for 26 after I release a gameplay set for that first.
