Man I lost to hawaii last night. Won the toos and defered to the 2nd half. Kicked off and Haw took the kick back 99 yards to go up 7-0. I drive down and score 7-7. Kick off and stop Haw and their 1st offensive play their RB takes it 75 yards to the house. Down 14-7. I get a field goal 14-10. Haw's very next offensive play their RB takes it to the house for 80 yrd td. Down 21-10 and their RB has 2 rushes for 155 yards. Long story short I come back and tie it up 41-41 with 45 sec's left and Haw has 3 timouts. Needless to say I couldnt get any pressure with my D-line, my guys were gassed. They kicked a game wining 47 yrd field goal to win it with 3 seconds left on the clock.

It took six seasons of working up from Georgia State, but I finally managed to put together a 14-0 season, and take the Natty as Stanford's HC. Great comeback win against South Carolina and their Heisman winning QB. Totally shut them down in the second half after going down 17-0 early. Ended up winning 31-17 behind our Jr. Qb Marcus McDaniel, a great supporting cast, and a defense that really found itself in the second half of the year.

After going 26-2 in two years at Stanford, and with a top 5 recruiting class on the way in, I had every intention of staying, but then Mack Brown retired. Since I had cut my teeth as an OC at Texas four years earlier, I couldn't turn the job down when I was at the top of their list.

I'll just give a bit of a recap of my first year as the new HC of CFB's largest brand (after starting from, perhaps, the smallest brand in FBS).

Interesting situation coming into the Horns, absolutely loaded everywhere, but QB, where they were hurting hard. A 77ovr rated RS Senior, 6'0" 190lbs, with average passing ability and 52 speed, and a 6'4" 245lb RS Freshman rated 74ovr, with poor passing, and rated as a scrambler with 65 speed. There is one other QB on the roster so bad he isn't worth mentioning.

First game was the Cowboy Kickoff (or whatever it's called) against Florida, and man was it a hard one. We ended up overcoming two horrible QB performances to prevail 24-23. Couldn't move the ball at all in the second half.

Game two against FAU both QB's got a chance and struggled equally. Our defense scored two td's. We won 38-34, and gave up all of those 34 points in the second half.

Game three we blew out Wake Forest 44-17, but again, QB play was horrible, and there were some real consistency issues run blocking, and just in general offensively.

Game four was the Red River Rivalry, and our lack of polish on offense finally caught up to us. We turned the ball over seven times (!!!), but still managed to keep it within a touchdown halfway through the fourth quarter—before ultimately throwing a pick six and finally caving. We lost 38-17 in the end. Lost the nation's #1 recruit to OU in the loss too. Worst game I played in in my six year career so far.

Game five against Iowa St: More horrible play by the offense. Couldn't run the ball, couldn't pass, just a mess. Thankfully, the defense pitched a gem of a game, despite being on the field the entire time. Still rotating the two QB's out of necessity at this point. Ended up winning 38-3, but the points scored flatter the offense's execution. The defense and special teams gave them awesome field position all game long.

Most recently, game six vs. TCU at home. Offense was horrible in the first quarter and the defense took this game off. At one point in the second quarter I was down 24-3. My run game, despite having a 98 and 94 ovr HB, and what should be a great line, could not run the ball (nor have they all season). I essentially had to abandon the run, and...it...worked? TCU had zero pass defense in this one, and my terrible interception machine of a RS Senior QB had the anomalous game of his life. He ended up 38/52 434 yards, 5td's and 2int. I don't run the air raid or anything, and I don't think I've ever had to throw the ball that many times in an NCAA game. We won 48-45 after a 15 yard FG to cap a wheezy final drive where we kept pumping the brakes, and almost braked too soon, and then not soon enough.

I just hope we have a QB now who can dish to the incredibly deep and talented corps of receivers we have. Our pass blocking has been pretty good all year, but we cannot run block to save our lives.

Currently 5-1 in my first year with Texas. We're ranked 5th in the land, but this team is nowhere near elite in terms of execution. These guys couldn't sniff my old Stanford squad (who are currently #1 and pounding the hell out of everyone). Heck, they probably couldn't beat my UCF team from three seasons ago either.

Can you give me some tips on the best way to move up in coaching ranks? I had offers to be an OC at some of the best teams in the nation but instead took the one AQ team offer to be the HC at Iowa State. I figured it to be more impressive of putting together a 8-9 win season as a HC than to run the tables as an OC?

Can you post a list of your jobs you had? Ex. Year 1-3 HC at ____ Year 4 ____

As much as I want to enjoy and carry out this San Jose dynasty I think I am going to jump ship the 1st chance I get to go to a Texas school. Hoping maybe Texas Tech or some thing. Its just a Texas thing for me being from here lol.

Iowa State falls to Michigan St in bowl

Iowa State ran into probably the best defense of the season in the bowl game and it showed. Starting QB, Sophmore Sam Richardson, came back after being injured the last 2 games with a finger injury. Good news, right? Wrong. He got picked off by Michigan State's tough secondary, and ended up losing 27-17. It was a 10-10 tie going into the half, even though Richardson threw 2 of his picks in the 2nd half. Michigan State would pull away and end up ending Iowa State's season at 8-5.

Iowa State would end the season with the 79th best recruiting class in the nation. Nothing great, but fortunately we didn't graduate that many seniors. Our whole secondary basically needs rebuilt. I may be starting 2 true freshman in the secondary, so this may be a long season.

I ended up changing up the conference alignments as well. I brought Mizzou, Nebraska and Colorado back to the Big XII to make it a 12 team conference again.
West Virginia moved to the Big 10 to make up for Nebraska leaving.
Clemson moves to the SEC to make up for Mizzou going back to the Big XII
Louisville goes to the ACC to make up for Clemson going to the SEC
ECU goes to the American to make up for Louisville leaving for the ACC
Finally, BYU heads to the Pac 12 to make up for Colorado heading back to the Big XII. Made sense since their biggest rival, Utah, is in the Pac 12 as well. I left TCU in the Big XII.

The best way is to be consistent and win more than what your overall says, and you will start getting good gigs from the start. I went like 6-6 at GSU in my first season and while the head coaching jobs were from other lower tier schools, I was getting crazy OC jobs, like at Stanford and Texas, but I decided to turn them down because I wanted to stay with my guys for another year at least, and maybe a Purdue job will open up to play there in the coming season.

Bringing in a decent recruiting class also helps. I brought in like #70 or so, but for GSU, that's remarkable. But as the game goes, it doesn't really make much sense sometimes on the jobs you are offered. I was offered OC positions, despite having one of the worst in the nation (can partly be put on talent), but I guess I ran such a Power Run Stanford offense, some people wanted it.

It's really about getting lucky in who moves and what not.

In year 2021 of my ttu dynasty with normal coach progression, after playing for a few months i had forgotten how hard it can be recuriting wise but i been pulling in a lot better classes as of late. I am mostly simming but i am going be tiring to play the games from here on out. I am also thinking of starting another with either washington or penn state, but my issue i dont wan to us the penn state playbook anymore. I am more of a run first person and use the pass game only when i am in a tight spot so does anyone have any suggestions for playbooks?

Just lost a heart breaker of a game in my third season as the OC at UMass in a rivalry game against UCONN.

I got the ball back with :49 left in the game down 10-14 and no timeouts. I drove down the field and hit my star WR Derek Beck slanting across the middle only to be tackled at the two yard line with :08 left. I tried like crazy to no-huddle and get my team to the line to spike the ball but time ran out before I could get the snap off.

Crazy game, amazing ending, but I left wondering what could have happened if my CPU controlled kicker had not missed three FG's

What is a good playbook for a explosive offense yet balance. In year 6 finally got a HC job of my ala matta.

Want an playbook that have a variety that has a balance of runs and pass but creative plays as same time.

Want a balance o not really sure how i'm run my offense i'm pass happy in general but really don't want to do the spread since i want to have some sort of running game.

my highest rated player maybe 82 max. just took over a cajuns team.
first few games i'm let cpu play to see how my O/D coordinators run the team.

Also move them to the SEC and Kentucky to sunbelt even tho they was rank in top 25 they was only 2 star compared my cajuns and every one else.

Played Week 1 of the Texas State Dynasty Year 3, I grilled New Mexico 42-21 at home. I got a pick 6 on defense, and they took a kick back. Although I threw 2 INT's with my new starting QB, I felt like I was pretty good with him, I threw for 305 years, 3 TD's and 2 INT's. He's also a much better dual-threat than I exprected, he has some running ability, not read-option worthy but he's good enough to ecscape sacks. And the INT's were on me. My defense played alot better than I though though, under 200 yards, a pick 6, 14 offensive points, and 5 sacks feels pretty good. I can't wait to play a better team like Kansas next week.

Vanderbilt offered a 6 year extension with the same 6 win expectations that from my original contract. I'm on my fourth year of my dynasty, 2nd year as HC of Akron. 9-4 with a cupcake schedule (lol). A bowl win over CSU. I'm just really messing around & having some fun with this dynasty until I get around to creating an (offensive) playbook for myself.

Sitting at 7-1 as Pitt's Head Coach, latest wins over Duke and Syracuse, with 3 point loss to #4 Georgia Tech in between wins. Next up is a home game against #3 Notre Dame. This should be an interesting week, particularly if I can lock down a win here. Should put us much higher than #24 in the polls.

Anyone have their DC all of a sudden jump to a level 18 in the offseason? My defense was pretty good, but we didn't win any end of the season awards or even finish in the top 25. I'm leveled up on like everything on defense now

Is it still the same guy? I ask because at the end of my 4th year (now in my 5th) as HC of USF both my OC and DC left for other jobs. Each was a 12-9 levels respectively. Then I got Klif Kingsbury to come over from Texas Tech who is now a 23 level OC and then some scrap level 2 as my DC.
