Unfortunately I think custom stadium sounds are going to be impossible, since there’s no way right now for an end user to transfer audio files to the PS5 or XBOX Series X hard drives, unlike what one could do with the PS3 or XBOX 360.

Maybe that changes in the future, but given how much consoles love the cloud and web services nowadays I would call that unlikely.

If EA does capture and implement that many contextual audio assets per school, though, then we may not need custom stadium sounds.

Extra Point's Matt Brown, the same one that provided that Kentucky list, confirmed that some schools are also including licensed music (such as BYU including several cues from Kanye songs).

I don't think stuff like that will get included, but who knows?

That's why I was more than okay with a 2023 release. With them building off of Madden's foundation, having this much time allows them to focus on including the small details that go a long way.

Just anxiously hoping (dreaming) they drop a post, and maybe even a teaser image, in next couple weeks with the tag “1 year from today… CFB is back!” [emoji1317]

I hope the dream I had a few weeks back turns out to be true and EA randomly announces the game is releasing in October of this year.

I dreamed last night I was watching a screen and the trailer was about to start.

              Man I hope it’s solid.

My guess is Christmas for first news and college playoffs for tv ads.

I like the way MLB the Show promotes their game with developers doing multiple live streams while answering questions and playing the game.

I’m interested to see how progression is handled. The Madden XP system seems like it would be a really bad mismatch in a college game since for the most part you need to play to progress

This is honestly one of my biggest concerns with the game. I absolutely hate the XP system the way it is implemented in Madden. I also disliked how simple and predictable the progression was in NCAA 14. I'd rather have 14's system over the XP system, but I'm hoping EA tries something different with the CFB game.

Players earn significantly more XP from practice than raw game stats in Madden 22.

You do have to win awards, lead the league in statistical categories, and/or win scenario breakout challenges to increase a player’s development trait, which accelerates his growth to stardom (and all those things award XP on their own as well). But the “stat padding is the only way to get XP, otherwise players can’t improve at all” way of doing things from Madden 13 / Madden 25 that is burned into everyone’s memory just isn’t how that system works anymore.

I won’t be shocked to see Skill Points appear in EA Sports College Football. But I do hope that offseason player training should be more interesting than just a simple XP grant per-player based on coach prestige or what have you; the spring and summer practice periods are very meaningful in a college football player’s career, and they should be given that level of gameplay importance. I also hope the game offers a more directed progression system than NCAA Football 14, which increased every position’s ratings the same way regardless of teams’ offensive and defensive systems and further offered users zero levers to pull regarding how their players developed.

Do we think there’s any chance at all EA tried to get some star head coaches signed on and scanned similar to Madden? It would be so cool to see Saban on the sideline and Fisher on yours for example instead of the 5 generic faces like previous games. Obviously they wouldn’t get all the schools but even 20 P5 coaches would be amazing in my book.

Then imagine someone like Brian Kelly goes to LSU and the next season he is on their sideline. So cool.

Probably getting ahead of myself here !

I don't see any harm in coaches doing that. I'm sure someone will say it will make both fans and some potential recruits even happy with no downside.

I'd love see actual coaches in the game, but who knows how much that would cost EA. I'm sure if it were to be a reasonable cost, EA would be all over it, but I'm sure a number of coaches would be asking for ludicrous amounts of money.

Maybe EA convinces the coaches it can be negatively recruited against them if they're not in the game? I'm sure for some impressionable high schoolers, they may feel star struck seeing a coach in game and then meeting them in real life on a visit. On the other hand, if they saw Mark Stoops wasn't in the game, they might think lesser of him even if they don't realize it.

                            Argue that EA.

I actually think the current madden xp format would be perfect and way better suited for the college game. None of the players will be in game past 5 years, so if they max out at the madden rate, that works out more realistically to what we expect of a college career. We always see players explode on the scene, making these dramatic improvements, and they either leave for the draft, or they transfer to a better, more prestigious school. I think we'd see exactly those things happen. I would hope so. I want coaching and recruiting to be fun and necessary, so the current xp format we've felt is overpowered in madden can finally work out for us.
