The problem is the penalties impacted the offense most as the points per game were down to 19 per team. Now I'm working on gameplay sliders to try and improve the offense.
Thats not bad. Im wondering how much number of plays determines this. Ex. I play 15 minutes with an 18 second run off and average around 120-130 plays per game. (the NFL average)

Until EA decides to allocate resources to building two seperate games (which they will never do), it will always be like this. For every one of us who prays to the heavens that one day we will have some resemblance of human error within our AI teammates, there are 10 online competitive guys who don’t want any instances of random chance. At the end of the day they are building this game on one engine which is designed to appease two different sets of players. And as with most things the squeaky wheel gets the grease

interesting. What difficulty do you play on? Also, that seems like a very long game. Are your games super high scoring, or are you seeing normal game scores?

The problems I am having with settling on a game length plus run off is that the offense and defense balance way differently. If I do 10 minutes with 20 second run off I get realistic scoring and offensive stats, but I wind up having the lowest tackle numbers in the league. My team leader had like 60 tackles total, while the league leader was at like 130. If I cranked it up to 15 minutes with 10 second run off, every game is a barn burner with like 80-100 points scored total.

My primary goal is realistic numbers. I play on AP, 15 minute Q's with a acc clock at 18 secs. I try not to mess with the sliders too much. I have lowered CPU accuracy to 48 and both CPU and User FG accuracy to 45 and moved penalties up a bit.

I try to get 120-130 plays a game. My games vary. Right now ex. on my lunch break, i'm in a bit of a shootout with the Chargers and I'm the Colts. If you want to make sure its realitic, play some crap teams. I'll try Panthers vs Eagles but Ill also do Browns vs Cards just to see how the game plays out.

Again, i want realism and this years game is very good IMO and very organic. I said it before though, it needs a patch.

I am on All Madden and had to reduce quarter length to 12 minutes with 11 second run off, at 15 minutes the scores were just way too high.
As far as penalties are concerned, I have pretty much all of them jacked up (not complete 99) to see what sticks and what doesn't, for the record I have never seen anything in all these years that have me convinced that the penalty sliders effect gameplay like other would have us to believe.

I have tried so many of these theories and ultimately came to the conclusion that there is nothing there to convince me 100% of anything, if folks want to believe they do, then more power to them, but something shouldn't be paraded around to be fact just because your favorite youtuber or slider dude "says so"...
People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.
“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert
“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack Lambert

              Because they don't care.

they completely removed defensive holding in madden 17 and haven't even tried to address it in nearly a decade.

100%. EA een put in the menus a few years ago "based on real life NFL penalties" which is easily disputed. If i put PI at 99 i should see it happen and it...doesnt.
