Weeks 1 & 2 are in the book for the 2025 New York Jets as we start off 1 and 1.

Aaron Glenn Postgame Presser – Week 1 vs Steelers

    Opening Statement:

“Tough one today. We put ourselves in bad positions, and you can’t spot a team like Pittsburgh points off turnovers and expect to win. I thought our defense battled. The effort was there. But we’ve got to take care of the football and be better situationally. That’s the bottom line.”

    On Justin Fields’ Performance:

“Justin had a rough day. Some of that’s on him, some of that’s on us. One pick goes off our receiver’s hands, but the other turnover was a poor throw. The fumbles — can’t happen. He knows that. He’s our starter, but he understands the leash is shorter. We expect him to respond.”

    On Turning to Tyrod Taylor:

“Tyrod came in and settled us down. He did his job. That’s why we have him — to steady the group when needed. But Justin is still the starter going forward. He’ll get the chance to bounce back.”

On the Offensive Line Struggles vs. Steelers’ Pass Rush:

“Listen, Pittsburgh has one of the best front sevens in football. Watt and Highsmith made plays, that’s what they do. But we’ve got to be better protecting the quarterback. That’s coaching, that’s execution, and that’s toughness.”

    On the Defense:

“I thought our guys played hard. We gave up 28, but one was a defensive score, another came off a short field. Our guys kept swinging. That’s the standard. We’ll clean up some things, but I like where we’re headed defensively.”

On Facing the Bills Next Week:

“Buffalo’s another tough test. Josh Allen’s coming off a loss and he’ll be ready. For us, it’s about how we respond. How we clean up the mistakes. I told our guys — one game doesn’t define us. We’ll be ready next Sunday.”

Aaron Glenn Postgame Presser – Week 2 vs Bills

    Opening Statement:

“Proud of this team. First win for us, and it came the right way — complementary football. Offense responded, defense kept battling, and special teams did their job. That’s how we want to play. It’s one game, but it’s a step in the direction we expect.”

    On Justin Fields’ Bounce-Back Performance:

“Justin answered the bell. That’s what you want to see from your quarterback after a tough outing. He pushed the ball downfield, made smart decisions with his legs, and kept our offense on schedule. He’s still got things to clean up, but I like the response. That’s growth.”

    On Allen Lazard’s Big Day:

“Allen’s a pro. He was steady for us, made tough catches, and gave us a spark when we needed it. That’s what leadership looks like from a veteran in that room.”

On Sauce Gardner’s Interception and Defensive Play:

“Our defense is built on being relentless and opportunistic. Sauce played like Sauce — locked in, competitive, making plays on the ball. But it wasn’t just him. Our front kept Allen uncomfortable, and that’s what allowed those chances on the back end.”

On His First Win as a Head Coach:

“Look, I’m grateful. You work a long time for this opportunity, and to share that first win with this group of guys means something. But it’s not about me — it’s about where we’re going as a team. We’re building something, and this is just the start.”

On Carrying Momentum to Tampa Next Week:

“We’ve got to stack performances. One win doesn’t define us, just like one loss doesn’t. Tampa’s a tough environment, and we’ll need the same focus, the same energy, and better execution. We’re going to enjoy this tonight, then it’s back to work tomorrow.”

Aaron Glenn Postgame Presser – Week 3 at Buccaneers

      Opening Statement:

“Flat out — not good enough. You turn the ball over five times, you give up defensive scores, you’re not winning in this league. We moved the ball, we had chances, but mistakes killed us. I told the team — that performance isn’t the standard. Period.”

      On Justin Fields’ Five Interceptions:

“Justin’s got to take care of the football. Some of those throws he wants back, no question. Some were on protection breaking down, some were on timing, but five turnovers? That’s unacceptable. He knows it, we know it. He’s our quarterback, and he’s got to respond the right way this week.”

On Whether There’s Consideration to Bench Fields:

“Justin is still the starter. I want to be very clear on that. But the leash gets shorter when you play like that. This is a results business, and protecting the football is number one. He’ll get every opportunity to correct it, starting Monday night.”

On the Defense Struggling to Contain Bucky Irving:

“Too many missed fits. We let him get downhill, and when that happens, you’re behind the sticks. I thought we played with effort, but when your defense is on the field that much because of turnovers, it’s hard to hold up. Still, we’ve got to be more disciplined against the run.”

On the Emotional Swing of the Pick-Sixes:

“That’s the game. You give away points like that, momentum’s gone. Credit to Tampa — they capitalized. But we can’t hand opponents touchdowns. That’s self-inflicted.”

On Moving Forward to Monday Night vs. Miami:

“We’ve got no time to sulk. This league doesn’t wait for anybody. We’ve got a division game under the lights next week. How we respond — that’s going to tell me everything about who we are. One loss doesn’t define us, but how we react to it will.”

Aaron Glenn Postgame Presser – Week 4 at Miami

      Opening Statement:

“That’s how you respond. National TV, divisional opponent, on the road — and our guys answered. We talked all week about bouncing back the right way, and that’s what we did tonight.”

      On Justin Fields’ Performance:

“Justin played smart, played within the system, and took what was there. That’s what we need from him. Protect the football, make plays when it’s there, and trust the guys around him. That’s growth. That’s the quarterback we know he can be.”

      On the Defense Creating Turnovers:

“That’s Jets defense. Fast, physical, opportunistic. We know Miami’s got firepower, but we forced them into mistakes and made them earn everything. Proud of how our guys competed snap to snap.”

      On Getting Back to .500:

“Listen, it’s a long season. We’ve seen our highs, we’ve seen our lows. Tonight doesn’t make us champions, just like last week didn’t bury us. What matters is stacking wins. Dallas is next, and that’s where our focus is.”

Goff throws 3 TDs, Campbell leads defense as Detroit improves to 9–0

By Tim Twentyman | Detroit Free Press

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Detroit Lions remained unbeaten Sunday, defeating the Washington Commanders 34–17 behind a sharp performance from quarterback Jared Goff and a ferocious defensive showing from Jack Campbell.

Goff threw for 321 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions, spreading the ball to Isaac TeSlaa, Jameson Williams and Sam LaPorta, while Jahmyr Gibbs added a key rushing touchdown. Detroit jumped out to an early lead, briefly gave way to Washington, but finished the game strong, outscoring the home team 17–7 after halftime.

Linebacker Jack Campbell led the defense with 15 tackles, two tackles for loss, and a sack, earning a game ball alongside Goff. Coach Dan Campbell praised both players in the postgame press conference.

“Jared was outstanding,” Campbell said. “He kept us moving, made the throws we needed, and didn’t beat us with mistakes. Game ball to him — no doubt about it.”

“Jack’s a leader on and off the field,” Campbell added. “Those numbers tell part of the story, but the way he rallies the guys, communicates, and reads the offense — that’s why we handed him a game ball. It’s about production and leadership.”

The Lions’ defense also forced two turnovers and held Washington to just 2-of-9 on third-down conversions. Time of possession favored Detroit at 33:43, allowing the team to control the tempo in the second half.

Campbell also emphasized the importance of staying focused as Detroit (9-0) prepares for next week’s road matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles (7-2) on Sunday Night Football.

“Philly’s a big challenge — they’re tough, physical, and they’ll bring it,” Campbell said. “We’ve got to go back to work, study the tape, stay disciplined, and execute. One game at a time, one win at a time.”

The Lions continue their unbeaten streak, proving they are serious contenders in the NFC and maintaining momentum heading into a pivotal stretch of the season.

        Dan Campbell locker room speech:

“Hey, listen up, listen up! (pounds chest) That’s how you win on the road, men. That’s how you take down an 8-1 football team in their own house. We played physical, we played smart, and we finished. That’s Detroit Lions football!

Now — we don’t get here without our quarterback. Jared Goff was lights out. Twenty-six completions, over 320 yards, three touchdowns, no turnovers. He kept us moving all day, making throws, taking shots, and controlling the game. (hands Goff the ball) Game ball right here!

And how about this defense? You want to talk about tone-setters? Jack Campbell. (players cheer) Fifteen tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack. That’s not just numbers, that’s leadership, that’s toughness, that’s doing it every damn down. Jack, get in here! (hands ball) Game ball!

Men, we’re 9-0. That’s special. But it only means something if we keep stacking them. Next week, Philly. That’s another heavyweight fight. They’re gonna bring it, and so are we. We’re not backing down from anybody.

We keep grinding, we keep punching, and we keep proving it. One game at a time, one win at a time. You guys with me?! (locker room erupts)

        One Pride on three!

Aaron Glenn has graciously stepped aside so that I may be the HC of the Jets. Glenn has agreed to stay on to be my DC.

First Preseason game in GB in the pouring rain was not pretty for the Jets. Packers win 24-6. Jets offense was horrendous completing only about 35% of their passes, 9 dropped passes did not help the cause. Defense actually played well despite giving up 24 points. Packers first two TDs should not have happened. There was a bogus roughing the passer call on third and long to extend their first drive. Literally was hitting him as he was throwing. Second drive the Packers converted an unlikely 3rd and 25 and scored another TD. Jets only score was a meaningless rushing TD with 18 seconds left to avoid the shutout. Jets fall to 0-1 in the preseason.

Next up is the Giants-Jets matchup. Hopefully the weather and Jets execution will be better.

WEEK 10 RECAP: CHARGERS DEFENSE DOMINATES RODGERS, TOP STEELERS 32-10 ON SUNDAY NIGHT
By Staff Writer — Madden 26 Chargers Franchise

The Chargers (7-3) hand the Steelers (6-3) a humbling primetime loss at SoFi Stadium.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. — Under the bright lights of Sunday Night Football, the Los Angeles Chargers (7-3) put together their most complete performance of the season, cruising past the Pittsburgh Steelers (6-3) with a dominant 32-10 victory at SoFi Stadium.

Justin Herbert managed the game efficiently, completing 24 of 34 passes for 260 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception. His lone TD strike went to Najee Harris, who also contributed on the ground with 13 carries for 52 yards and a rushing score. Rookie back Omarion Hampton provided a spark as well, breaking a 40-yard run on his way to 101 yards and a touchdown on just 9 carries.

Defensively, the Chargers kept Aaron Rodgers and Pittsburgh’s offense bottled up all night. Rodgers threw for 217 yards with 1 TD and 2 INTs, but the Steelers’ run game was completely shut down (44 yards total). Despite tight end Pat Freiermuth leading Pittsburgh with 9 catches for 70 yards, the Steelers were unable to sustain drives, going just 4 of 12 on third downs.

The Chargers’ front seven harassed Rodgers consistently, while the secondary capitalized on mistakes, forcing turnovers and limiting big plays.

Next week, the Chargers will travel east for a marquee matchup against the 7-2 Jacksonville Jaguars, led by quarterback Trevor Lawrence (1,906 YDS, 17 TD, 3 INT). With playoff seeding at stake, the primetime Chargers will look to carry their momentum into another AFC showdown.

Just got the game this weekend. Decided to start up as the new coach of the Giants, rebuild in year one then chase success. Went 7-10 and got fired..... I mean I was annoyed because of all the trades I made and the moves to build that team, but also because that isn't that realistic. If the Giants win 7 games in 2025 that's a massive success for a rebuilding organization.

Took the Browns offer because of the 2 1st Round Picks and some tradeable talent. Drafted bookend tackles in the 1st at picks 4/9. Cade Klubnik in the 2nd (I am not a Shedeur fan) and think I might roll with a Cleveland rebuild for a bit.

Yea actually I stumbled onto it by accident. Just to see who else was available I fired my OC and DC. Glenn was available to hire.

LAWRENCE AND JAGUARS OUTGUN CHARGERS 42-31
By Staff Writer — Madden 26 Franchise

Justin Herbert threw for 334 yards, but the Chargers fell short in a 42–31 shootout against Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Trevor Lawrence was nearly flawless, and the Los Angeles Chargers couldn’t keep up. Lawrence shredded the Bolts’ secondary for 430 yards and five touchdowns, leading the Jacksonville Jaguars to a 42-31 win at EverBank Stadium.

The Chargers fell to 7-4 with the loss, while Jacksonville improved to 8-2 behind their star quarterback.

                          A First-Half Shootout
The game opened with fireworks. Lawrence hit Travis Hunter on a 53-yard bomb less than five minutes into the game, and later found Dyami Brown for a 59-yard strike at the end of the first quarter. Jacksonville piled up 20 first-quarter points.

The Chargers responded with their own big plays. Justin Herbert connected with rookie wideout Ladd McConkey on a 74-yard touchdown in the second quarter, and KeAndre Lambert-Smith added a 28-yard scoring grab. Najee Harris provided balance with a 9-yard touchdown run, giving the Chargers 21 second-quarter points.

Despite the surge, Jacksonville held a 27-21 halftime lead after another Lawrence-to-Hunter score.

                          Lawrence’s Masterclass
Lawrence finished with 31 completions on 40 attempts, carving the Chargers for 430 yards and five touchdowns without a turnover. Hunter (6 rec, 145 yds, 3 TDs) and Brown (6 rec, 122 yds, 2 TDs) gave the Chargers’ defense nightmares.

Meanwhile, Herbert battled to keep pace, throwing for 334 yards and two touchdowns with one interception. McConkey was his top target, catching eight passes for 171 yards and a score, showing why he’s quickly becoming Herbert’s go-to playmaker.

Justin Herbert threw four touchdown passes as the Chargers dismantled the Raiders 41-3 at SoFi Stadium.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. — The Los Angeles Chargers delivered a statement win in Week 11, dismantling the division rival Las Vegas Raiders 41-3 behind a dominant showing from both quarterback Justin Herbert and their opportunistic defense.

Herbert was sharp and efficient throughout, completing 21 of 31 passes for 326 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions. Three different receivers found the end zone, as the veteran quarterback spread the ball around with precision.

Keenan Allen got things rolling early with a 17-yard touchdown grab in the first quarter, and explosive plays soon followed. KeAndre Lambert-Smith emerged as the star of the passing game, catching four passes for 114 yards and two scores, including a 48-yard strike in the fourth quarter to seal the blowout. Rookie Tre Harris also hauled in a 22-yard touchdown before halftime.

The ground game was steady as Najee Harris led the way with 93 yards on just 11 carries, averaging 8.4 yards per attempt. His balance allowed the offense to control the tempo while Herbert lit up the secondary.

Defensively, the Chargers overwhelmed Geno Smith and the Raiders’ offense. Defensive end Drake Jackson’s scoop-and-score 34-yard fumble return in the third quarter punctuated a smothering performance. Los Angeles held Las Vegas to just 201 total yards, forced two turnovers, and allowed a meager 1-of-11 conversion rate on third downs.

With the victory, the Chargers improve to 8-4 on the season, strengthening their hold on the AFC West lead.

Next up, Los Angeles heads to Philadelphia for a marquee Monday Night Football matchup against the 6-6 Eagles.

Justin Herbert threw for over 4,300 yards while Ladd McConkey broke out in his second season with 1,459 yards and 10 TDs.

The Los Angeles Chargers closed the regular season at 11-6, claiming the AFC West title and earning the #1 seed in the AFC playoffs. Under Coach Lou Foster, the Bolts combined a top-tier offense with timely defense to set up home-field advantage at SoFi Stadium throughout the postseason.

                                Looking Ahead
With the top seed in the AFC, the Chargers await their Divisional Round opponent. With Herbert in command, Harris grinding out yards, and McConkey playing like an All-Pro, Los Angeles will look to make a run at the Lombardi Trophy.

The road to the Super Bowl goes through Inglewood.
