I am going ahead and getting Madden for the PS4 for a couple of reasons. I haven't gotten Madden since Madden 12, for different reasons(other games, lack of money). I want it for the PS4 so I'll have a football game to play. Seeing as I didn't get Madden 25 for the PS3, am I going to be disappointed with what I'll be playing on the PS4?

I do realize we aren't getting what we thought after E3, and that does disappoint me, but will the game still provide a good time for a hardcore sim player?

Seeing how the state of NCAA is still up in the air, and isn't looking promising, I will personally find it hard to stay away from Madden every year. I can see myself skipping a year or two, but eventually I'd cave.

I just got the game for free at Target (buy 2 get 1 free) and as frustrated as I've been for years with CG Madden I'm going to just give it a shot. So glad I didn't pay for it and if its terrible I'll trade it and make money off it.

Which is all fine and dandy. But it's our right (and some would say duty) to not buy their half-*** effort and inform people about what is going on. I majored in economics, I know how the business world works. But there's a difference between making incremental improvements/leaving customers wanting more and putting out fake game footage tricking fans into buying the game and then not allowing people to show what the game ACTUALLY looks like until after they've spent their hard-earned money. Come on, dude. EA has definitely earned their 'worst company in AMerica" award.

With that said, I had preordered the Madden based on the E3 but I picked it up and took it right back.

1. I'm not defending EA and their marketing schemes. Your post to me, suggest that I was.

2. You have all the time, usually until the new game drops, to decide if you want to buy it. If people are too impatitent to wait....well, that's their fault.

You know what guys, it is what it is. Either buy it and enjoy or don't buy it. You know what your getting. It's time to quit beating the dead horse. I've got it and I'm going to do my best to enjoy it for what it is.

Not picking on you. Just making a point. This is why there will still be an exclusive with EA and the game will sell. Because people will buy this product even after being misled because its the only game in town. This guy/girl is pretty much the voice of the new generation and EA KNOWS it.

To me it's not so much that it's the exact same game as last gen...it's the fact that they misled their followers and on top of that, they have an embargo for 9am tomorrow??? Check the embargo dates for the last several editions of Madden and tell me if this doesn't seem fishy to you. Their business practices bring attention to their already suspect behavior. Had they come out and said they were just porting current gen, i would have said ok cool, just brush it up and build from their. That was NOT the case. This was shady behavior in it's purest form.

Very good point. If EA was honest I would not have an issue. They misled folks, the fact that there has been no gameplay footage should have tipped everyone. When you are proud of something you want to show it off.
What EA did was try to sell 25 this summer to ps3/360 and then sell the same game to hardcore gamers 2 months later but call it next gen. Slimy business practice. Gotta call a spade a spade.

I've been extremely critical of Madden, but it's time to let some of it go. Are we going to be complaining about the E3 video until Madden 15? I have it because I did the buy one get one free at Target and got 2 free games. As far as being the voice of the new generation, I'm sure I'm quite older than you.

The game will be an exclusive as long as EA writes the checks. You do realize that right? It doesn't matter if sales decline. The NFL could care less. All they want is the guaranteed money.

As far as being mislead, it really pisses me off, but I hope you don't think EA is the only campany that does this. Most companies do. It's marketing and it's wrong. If you don't buy games because of this then you won't be buying many.

You've seen the streams. You buy it knowing what you're getting, so we shouldn't be hearing any more BS about someone being pissed about a video shown 5 months ago.

People want to come in here and constructivley criticize Madden 25. Go for it. I'm all in. This game needs to make major improvements and quick. Some of it is just ridiculous.

The consoles the game was created for is not officially out yet so as far as most are concerned, what they are buying is not really what they are getting. So in fact even though the game has been released...it really has not been released yet and you already want to let it go? Feel free. I don't. The wave of disappointment has not even hit yet as most madden gamers probably don't even frequent this site.
EA will only keep writing the checks if people buy the game. If sales decline and the price of being exclusive is no longer profitable, they will not. Unfortunately most people still will. It makes me feel better to complain about it though which is why I am posting here. Therapy. For those who are happily being misled into next gen there are topics on this forum where you can escape the truth.

Other than that, I would be willing to bet I have several years on you...and I agree with the rest of what you said.
