The workaround is time consuming at first and limiting, but once you set up the season, it's fun. Not sure if Clint screwed the directions up, but it's more than likely not in the game. Coach Mode will have to do as long as the mechanics are mostly the same as last year.

Forgive my sarcasm at times..LOL! I am actually right there with you and others on this.
Forgive me, don't have time currently to scan for past comments...
when you say Coach mode....is this a way to get it to a cpu vs cpu semblance ?
How would I do that if so, if it is in?
I'm curious.
Really mad that EA will not put cpu vs cpu back in !!!Comment

Re: CPU vs. CPU in offline franchise mode? (Madden NFL 15)
I'm with you as far as enjoying taking control of all 32 teams and actually wanting to see the CPU play some of the games out in franchise. Not sure if it's been mentioned in this thread, I'm not about to go through the 27 pages to check, but along with CPU vs. CPU I'm also hoping they make it much easier/quicker to select multiple teams to use during the franchise setup. In M25 it took like 10 minutes just to manually go in and choose each team's owner.Comment

Re: CPU vs. CPU in offline franchise mode? (Madden NFL 15)
I'm spectating a Madden 12 season right now and loving it. I really wish they'd add this feature back into Madden. I get that EA must be worried that there is some sort of an exploit that can occur if they do this. I'm not sure what that exploit is but it sucks that they can't find some way to prevent it and just add the feature.
Short of EA doing this I hope that another company comes out with a football game that allows it. I don't know if it is clear yet whether the explicit rights to the NFL run out last year or if there are still a few years of it left. Either way, I hope it isn't long before EA is forced to actually compete and has no choice but to put in reasonable features like CPU vs CPU or risk losing customers to their competitors.Comment

I'm buying Madden this year for coach mode. I hope it's unchanged for the most part because there's a partial CPU vs. CPU feature to it. However, sales were down last year. People made explanations as to why that was. This year will be very telling. If sales are down again, maybe it is time to address the nuances that fans have been asking for.
Seriously, CPU vs. CPU in offline franchise is an easy fix. It can be added if they were conscious about it.Comment

THis i9s just sad, but I have spent days redoing the 2012 rosters and I have a workable roster comparable to 2015's
Funny the guy who made 12 was fired and Loosman took over and preceded to destroy maddenComment

After three years of complaining about the omission of CPU vs. CPU in offline franchise mode, the Madden CFM team has done nothing to rectify the situation, leading me to speculate that they are willing to lose some customers to appease their fan base in MUT and online mode because that's their bread and butter.

It seems like trend of the gaming industry for the past few years has been that the number of hardcore gamers is shrinking in favor of the casual gamer. Those who watch CPU vs CPU are without a doubt in the casual gamer realm and probably aren't willing to pay $60 for just one game. So EA would have to make a decision at that point. If they make the game so that it targets both the hardcore and casual gamers do they continue to charge $60 per copy and if so just how many casual gamers will they even gain? Personally, I'd wait until the end of the season to buy my copy. I don't play Madden much during the football season and would rather have it for the offseason. Hard to say if this might be why the EA marketing team has decided to just forgo satisfying the casual gamers but it is probably at least a factor in it.
I hope that if the license is opened up by the NFL then we can have two games developed. EA would continue to gain the hardcore fans and hopefully a Tecmo Bowl or 2K would make one that is a little less expensive and more casual gamer friendly.
I saw this article below a little while back about Joe Montana possibly backing a new football game. Even if a game didn't include NFL teams and players I just might be interested in picking it up for CPU vs CPU. It'd be worth a shot at least.

Re: CPU vs. CPU in offline franchise mode? (Madden NFL 15)
I have to say, as much as I love CPU vs. CPU in sports games, CPU vs. CPU in Madden was always underwhelming bc of the poor CPU AI.
I would still rather have it in than not, but because the CPU AI has been lacking, I have not lamented its omission as much as I would have if the CPU AI was good.
Watching CPU vs. CPU in Play Now mode has been underwhelming bc of unrealistic CPU AI behavior, and it makes me not miss it (as much) in Connected Careers.
Still, it sucks to lose in the first round of the playoffs and then immediately have to fast forward to a screen that shows the final score of the Super Bowl. LOL. Talk about anti-climatic.Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"

Re: CPU vs. CPU in offline franchise mode? (Madden NFL 15)
And that's why Looman and company aren't keen on putting back in the game. It would focus attention on probably the weakest part of Madden, which in my opinion is also probably the hardest to fix. Making the CPU be able to play like a human, basically pass the Turing Test, would be no trivial matter. It would take some seriously smart programming.Comment
