(I would really like to see wind gusts and the wind change through games, but that is neither here nor there.)

That isn't even how it's done in the NFL though. 4th quarter wind direction is decided at the start of the second half, not at the opening kickoff.

Until Madden can accurately give us all the decisions we should have and then reconvene before the second half there is no need to worry about the pointless coin toss being removed.

As someone who stated they wanted some sort of real delay after making an audible to emulate the way they are really done. I am very pleased to read about that change.

Man I could have sworn someone in another thread posted that they got an answer on twitter that true step has not been worked on at all this year.

It's an interesting design decision, and one can argue the merits of actually seeing the coin toss play out, but to call the series "a joke" for removing something as trivial as the coin toss strikes me as just a tad extreme.
Is it a big deal? No. But it is somewhat odd to remove it as the coin toss is an essential part of a game. So obviously there is some confusion over why it was removed or what it will be like without it. I guess personally I just don't understand why they would decide to remove it.

So is it a big deal? Not really in the grand scheme of things. But it does strike me as odd.

The GCer that I've been in communication feels Clint might have been talking about this:

I think he is probably talking about OL/DL interaction, reach tackles and gang tackles.

He feels, according to his notes, he detected True Step, especially with LB's.

Even on Simfbcritic's first video of E3, he feels the ball carries no longer feel like they are being stuck in mud.

I don't think they eliminated the coin toss concept; I think they just eliminated the post-loading animation of a referee and several members of each team standing around and moved the entire assembly to the select team screen.

Not thrilled with the commercial concept, but we'll see how it actually was implemented.

That's pretty much my thoughts on it. I hope its there for the playoff games still, mainly the Super Bowl, but it sounds like they've removed it completely. People clamour for better presentation, broadcast like... Well on Sundays, I turn on CBS to watch a Miami game, they NEVER show the coin toss on a regular season game. It's always the commentators giving their thoughts on the game etc, etc, then they comment on who won the toss, and who will kick/receive, then before you know it you're watching the kickoff.

I could understand being upset if they actually removed the ability for you to pick heads or tails, but it seems like they havent, they just wont show the ref flip the coin, which to me, isn't that big of a deal. I would almost always skip it anyways.

The problem I have with Madden is that everytime they add something new, they remove something old. How about they keep the coin toss but they save it for the Superbowl. Remember those pre-game studio scenes. Why dont they save those, but only use them for prime time games? I'm glad the cut scenes are gone. Those things are so last gen and were pretty god awful. It used to make me cringe when I would see my backup QB in a huddle on kickoff. Similarly, if I see some generic trainer pouring a water bottle into my mouth ... I'm glad they are taking steps in the right direction in presentation. I really want them to add equipment though.

They can take out the coin toss, fine. As long as the CPU doesn't always call tails, followed by receive every game.

Really liked what I read. I will be picking this game up in August I know they haven't released everything about the game yet but from what I have read so far I think I will enjoy it. Should feel new to me since I didn't pick up M25.

I would happily accept commercials in Madden if they gave away the game for free. I shouldn't be subjected to ads in a game I already paid for.
Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.

Button mashing is the next solution for a 10-15 second ad, just like I did when the break for commercial went dark or button mashed through the half time montage.

Not calling out you specifically, but isn't praising NBA 2K and criticizing Madden for the exact same feature inclusion logically inconsistent?
Rather than use cycles and hours to create, implement, QA and debug these commercials I would rather that time and effort on more football presentation pieces. How about highlights from other games, that would be more immersive than commercials IMHO.

I know it's a delayed response, but I love the idea. I would assume those companies would love their names in the game.

The only one I see issue with is Direct TV Studio Updates and Verizon Halftime. Considering they are competitors in the TV market and I feel as though EA doesn't want to use a specific TV company or Channels (Fox/CBS). I maybe wrong but just my opinion.

But I will say it again I love the concept.
